Placed 1 Sensei Super Skunk seed in rapid rooter cube that is in a humidity dome. Light is ~18 inches away. Should pop in a less than 3 days ... started emerging today...was out surfing when she emerged, and temp was high, and humidity was low. I immediately put a humidifier in, and got to acceptable parameters. I hope its first hours weren't too rough 😅.
She is looking good, and healthy. Moved her into a 3 gallon smart pot containing Happy Frog, and gave her first feeding this week Big Bloom at ~500 ppm, and she responded well. Temps are running a little high topping at 86 degrees F. She seems to tolerate the heat well enough. Took humidifier out, and RH is between 55-65%. 6th node should emerge in a day or so. I plan on topping. Overall, a good week. 😎
--She's looking good, and she took her topping well. Pretty much insta-recovery. I like these genetics so far 😏. Nutrients this week included Big Bloom and Grow Big at 3:1 respectively. Been using RO water so I am also including CaliMagic in the nutrient solution. Final PPM was ~1400, and pH was ~6.0-6.5. Using a color indicator so not too sure. Watering about every other dayish. Planning on flipping to 12/12 soon.
--FLIPPING THA SWITCH! 6/22 will be the first day of 12/12 lighting. Making sure I have the Bloom, AND Veg switches on this time. LOL my last grow I only had the Bloom switch on which made for a weak final product. Put some foil over the room windows because my dark hours will be from 7am-7pm, and it tends to get too warm with lights on during the day. It's super effective despite feeling a little trashy. Watered with 2 L of filtered Los Angeles tap water ~280 ppm because I forgot to fill up my jug with RO water. Also did some mild LST'ing. Thinking about doing a trellis, but not sure yet.
Started flowering, and she seems to be taking off. Gonna give her some bloom nutes as soon as my pure-water watering dries. She's about a foot tall. Only LST'ing i've been doing is bending the tops horizontally.
-She is looking good. Starting to stretch, and grew 6" in a week! Stems are looking fairly strong, and leaves look good. Been feeding 2x/week, and topping with ph'd RO water in between feedings. My lights-on temps are running a little high. Hopefully she can tolerate a little warmth.
-White pistils emerging! Gender confirmed 👍
Looking good; no problems to speak of 😃. Hopefully she's done growing vertically, because my light is at max-height and I don't want her to get too close since I'm already running high temps. Temps are looking better than last week with some minor changes to my setup, but they're still fairly high (topping at ~88F). Forgot to take my ppm reading this feeding, but I used 3 tsp. of Big Bloom, 2 tsp. each for Tiger Bloom, and Grow Big per 1 gallon. PH ~6 (yellow 😁)
Vertical growth is definitely slowing down; she only grew ~4 inches this week. Pretty tame considering she grew 13 inches between weeks 6 and 7. Nutrients are the same as last week. 3 tsp Big Bloom, 2 tsp Tiger Bloom, and 2 teaspoons Grow Big. I removed one scraggly branch, but most of the others look strong enough to support some buds. A few of the leaves at the bottom had some large spots and weren't looking too good, but hopefully they were just casualties of my sloppy watering. I'll keep a careful eye. Thanks for looking 😃
-Topped off with RO water and CaMg. pH'd to ~6. Cut off some of the small/twiggy branches on the lower 1/3, and staked her up on the four main colas. Also, I'm getting suspicious about some spots around the edges of a few leaves towards the bottom. I'm not quite sure what the problem is. see above pic, and leave a comment if you have a possible diagnosis. Thanks.
Hello fellow growers, I noticed some large brown spotting on several of the leaves toward the bottom 1/3rd of the plant. They could be a result of sloppy watering, but I'm not really sure. Any diagnosis would be appreciated. Thanks! 😅
Hello buddy honestly your so far into flower and don’t have any real problems to be alarmed of your doing great hope they cure just as well and you have a tasty smoke 💨
Sorry, I'm a week behind on this. Buds are looking fat, but the leaves are starting to show a struggle. I've adjusted the ph to ~6.5. Will update week 10 when "morning" comes. Also, I cut out Grow Big from the nutrients.
Buds are big, and a few pistils are starting to redden. Leaves look like shit, but I'm hoping they hold out until harvest. As suggested by a few another member, I've adjusted my pH up a bit. I failed at ranging my pH this time😬. Noob mistake. In a hurry, gotta run. Peace.
-As suggested by another member, I'm not gonna stress about the leaves since I'm so close to harvest. I'll be more vigilant next grow. 😎
I was hoping to harvest before I went out of town (based on projected flowering time by Sensi), but I think I'm gonna hold off another week. More of the pistils have started to orange, but I'd like them to be at least 50% before I chop 👋. I've started flushing, and have a friend coming to water her while I'm away. Hopefully, I harvest when I come home Tuesday.
OCTOBER 4th FINAL UPDATE
Wanted to leave a final update on this grow now that I've had a chance to adequately sample the harvest. I am really enjoying this bud for my "nightcap" recently. It gently relaxes my mind, and comforts my body without getting too stoney. The taste is good mostly pine, earth, with a hint of fruitiness. I think the taste would be more pronounced if I didn't slightly over dry my bud ....whoops. This bud reminds me of some properly grown old-school smoke I had when I was younger, mild yet enjoyable. I think I did a good job on the cure, as smoke is incredibly smooth; I don't think I've coughed once. Also, the ash has a nice color to it. It certainly doesn't have the potency of some of the stuff I pick up at the dispensaries (26-29% THC which can be too potent at times IMO) but I just smoke a little more if I wanna get right. I would throw a wild stab and guess this grow has THC ~15-18%. In closing, I really enjoyed my first grow journal with you guys; it really helped me stay on top of things. Also, I REALLY appreciate👋 those who gave feedback, and also those who gave me "likes" ect. Gonna take a hiatus for a several months as things are starting to get busy for me. I have ~3oz of nightcap smoke which will last me a while. Happy growing budz, and see ya next grow!!! 😎👍
