A technical detail… but nothing here is by chance. For me, the soil mix is not just another step in growing. It is the core of the 3M method: Microbiology, Minerals, and Organic Matter. Everything is in the soil. What doesn’t happen there… doesn’t happen above. ••• The Mix: Invisible Architecture I work with a base of two universal peat substrates (7 parts), light, airy, with low nutritional load. I don’t want soil that feeds… I want soil that invites exploration. • From there, I build: - I add 1 part of traditional homemade bokashi: rice husk, charcoal, microbiology, basalt, black soil… pure fermented life. - Another part of bokashi, but this time with an interesting twist: I replace the husk and black soil with Kelp seaweed, loaded with auxins that stimulate rooting. Because yes, even underground there’s strategy. - I add 1.5 parts of worm humus, that dark gold that never fails. - 1 part of rice husk, light, structural, resilient. - 1.5 parts of coconut fiber, previously inoculated with Indigenous Mountain Microorganisms. The garden enters a kind of silent beauty where my intervention becomes minimal, almost unnecessary. There are moments when I feel that the plants simply allow me to observe them. As if for a few days the cultivation stopped being work and transformed into presence. Mexican Rush now goes through that exact moment where everything begins to accelerate without losing elegance. The floral buds, still young and immaculate, appear everywhere, adorning each branch as if they were competing with each other to see which will be bigger, thicker, more aromatic. 😍 The structure of this plant fascinates me. Its columnar morphology allows it to occupy space extremely efficiently within the tent. I can surround it with intense light without wasting a single corner, nor a bud. And it responds like a self-assured queen: stretching just enough, accumulating flowers on long vertical branches that promise monstrous buds. 😂 Moreover, reddish and dark tones are starting to appear in some areas of the plant, small nuances that further enhance its beauty. As if the flowering were not only building weight... but also character. Nothing can go wrong. 😏🌱 ••• The nutritional pause This week I decided to give the garden a little nutritional break. Sometimes you also have to know how to reduce, ease the pressure, let the system breathe. The watering mixes have been extremely mild. I barely added the necessary amount of biofertilizer to adjust the pH to my midpoint of 6.2. The final EC has remained between 0.3 and 0.5, starting from naturally alkaline spring water, with a pH close to 8 and a base EC of 0.25. I like to think that, from time to time, the plants appreciate this kind of truce. A moment where not everything consists of pushing harder, faster, higher. ••• The water ritual The water consumption is enormous. Every two days I perform slow and deep waterings. But I understood a long time ago that watering is not simply hydrating a pot. In this garden, watering has become a ritual. It all starts by slowly preparing the mix, using the magnetic stirrer while I select the components of the day. Nothing is completely random. There is intuition and intention, yes... but also constant observation, accumulated notes, data from previous waterings, and small patterns that I discover over time. As the mix spins slowly, I take the plants out of the tent and work the surface of the mulch with a small bonsai rake. The enormous microbiological activity of these substrates generates an organic crust on the top layer, especially in the mulch where decomposing matter accumulates. If I don't break it before watering, the water can barely penetrate. It almost becomes an impermeable surface. After raking, I spray water on the surface to properly hydrate that first layer before starting the actual watering. And then comes the slowest moment of all. Watering slowly. A lot. I can easily take an hour to provide 1.5 liters of mix to a single 7-liter pot. I usually water at the beginning of the light schedule, at 20:30. In the end, they are long summer dinners and digestive moments, in excellent company. No rush. With background music, shared smoke, and conversations, some absurd, floating among plants and intense lights. deFharo Welcome, marijuana growers! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 After almost twelve weeks of flowering, I’ve harvested this plant! 😁 Beautiful buds, long, dense as rocks that stick to my hands and smell really strong, the same ones that are now hanging in front of an extractor in the grow tent where I still have 5 plants. They’ve been in front of the extractor for 3 days to eliminate maximum moisture, then I moved them to a drying net where they will stay for another 4-5 days. I’ll try them then! Before hanging the buds, I gave them a manicure. And since the day before the cut, they’ve been soaking up the sun coming through the balcony, a final wish from an old friend. ================================================== After 3 weeks locked up and curing in a glass jar, let’s talk about the effects and more... 😁 Here comes one of the reasons why I grow sativas. Mexican Rush is a companion for the whole day. An active, awake, functional effect, the kind that allows me to keep doing things, thinking, working, walking, growing... and probably sit back down five minutes later to contemplate the plants as if it were the first time I’ve seen them.
