deFharo Welcome, marijuana growers! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 •• The Beginning of a Story to Tell We are at the start of a new growing season, and this time the garden brings with it a little genetic mystery. The seeds in this multiple diary are regular seeds… unless nature has a surprise in store. They were born from spontaneous crosses that occurred in my own garden during my penultimate growing season when I decided to rescue some old seeds from a Brazilian sativa. In that season, I bred a male and a female with the clear intention of preserving that genetics. The plan was simple: to perform a controlled cross between the two to ensure their lineage. And that’s what I did. But after the harvest came the surprise. The seeds started appearing everywhere. I definitely got a bit too confident with the handling of the pollen. It was my first experience working with males at home, and I learned something fundamental: pollen is like air. Invisible, light, rebellious… and perfectly capable of sneaking through any crack in the grow tent. Most of the seeds I found in lower and mid buds. But I also don’t rule out another possibility: that some plant developed hermaphrodite flowers and participated in the pollination. If that were the case, many of these seeds could be feminized. The truth is, I don’t know… and that’s precisely where part of the fun lies. •• Accelerated Sex Declaration To find out, I’m going to subject this group of seedlings to an **accelerated sex declaration**. I already tried this technique last season with the Congo plant, and it worked very well. The plan is as follows: when these plants reach four weeks from seed, I will transplant them into intermediate pots of approximately 1.5 liters. A week later, I will drastically change the light schedule. Until now, they have been growing with 20–22 hours of light, but then I will reduce it to just 9 hours a day. In the previous test, I lowered the light to 10 hours, and the plants took nine days to declare their sex. This time I want to speed up the process a bit. When the males reveal themselves… they will be executed immediately. The females, on the other hand, will be promoted: they will move to their final pots and return to the vegetative growth schedule of 20/4 hours. Natural selection applied to home cultivation. •• Self-Sufficiency and Curiosity My interest in these home crosses is mainly experimental, but it is also part of something that deeply motivates me: my quest for plant self-sufficiency. I usually don’t grow regular seeds. They require more attention, more space, and more work than feminized ones. But this season I’ve decided to give it a try… let’s see what comes out. I have no doubts about the quality of the herb. The mother plants that produced these seeds were exceptional. I could barely enjoy the Brazilian sativa because it was completely loaded with seeds, but I have always felt a special fascination for pure sativas. And if they come from Brazil, even more so. Brazil is a country with which I have a very close relationship: I lived there for several years, and now growing plants that carry some of that genetics has a special value for me. Wild, tropical, unpredictable. Additionally, this season I am also growing the original Brazilian sativa, which will allow me to observe if any of these new crosses reveal their heritage in the shape of the leaves, growth, or aromas. And I must admit something important: I smoke it all. Nothing goes to waste. 😁 •• A Wonderful Problem If these seeds are truly regular, about half will be males. That would simplify things quite a bit. But if not… I’m going to have a serious space problem. In addition to these seedlings, I am also growing several feminized strains. My initial plan was to keep eight plants in 7-liter pots inside a single grow tent, but I’m starting to suspect that I might have to activate my homemade grow cabinet to accommodate a couple more. I might even grow an extra one in 5-liter pots. Or maybe look for a small guerrilla spot for the excess plants. 🤷‍♂️ Anyway… the game is completely open. Many decisions to make. Many actions ahead. Over time, each plant that survives this first selection will have its own individual diary, where I will document in detail the development of each phenotype. •• The Present For now, these little seedlings are living peacefully under blue lights (450 nm) and cool white lights (6500 K), spectrums that mimic quite well the time of year we are going through: the end of winter and the beginning of spring. As spring progresses, I will intensify the light and add more richness in the color spectrums to accompany their growth. But that will come later. For the moment, everything is just starting. Everything is promise. Everything is possibility. And I am here to accompany it... All for the cause. 🌱 😁 UNTIL NEXT TIME. deFharo Welcome marijuana growers! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 All these seedlings stand out in size and vigor compared to the rest of the seeds. In about 7-10 days, I will transplant them into a slightly larger pot, in preparation for the accelerated sex declaration. 😁 UNTIL NEXT TIME. deFharo Welcome, marijuana growers! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 ••• The Judgment of the Roots Today has been a day of movement. A day of silent decisions that will mark destinies. I have transplanted nine seedlings from regular seeds into intermediate one-liter pots. Nine little unknowns, nine potential stories, now with more space to unfold what really matters at this moment: the roots. I will let them settle, explore, and colonize their new territory for a week. And then… the judgment will come. I will reduce the light from their comfortable 23/1 to a demanding 9/15. A sharp change. Intentional. Strategic. There is no room for doubt in this garden. In about 8–9 days, each plant will reveal its truth. The males… will be executed without mercy. The females… will ascend. They will return to the growth cycle and take their permanent place in 7-liter pots. That's how this little kingdom works: beauty… and selection. 😁 ••• Living Soil, Free Roots I have prepared a light, almost ethereal substrate. A mix of peat and coconut fiber previously inoculated with indigenous Mountain Microorganisms. It’s not soil. It’s an invitation. I want the roots to move without resistance, to explore, to seek. In these first weeks, there are no fertilizers. Just mountain spring water, loaded with calcium, magnesium, and silicon, with a neutral pH. Let them learn to find. Let them learn to associate. Let them learn to live. Hours after the transplant, I have given the first conscious watering of the new cycle: a slightly acidic mix (pH 6.15), with spring water, activated Mountain Microorganisms in liquid form, and a touch of molasses. A small microbial feast. I want the invisible life to multiply uncontrollably, to decompose, transform, and release every nutrient trapped in the substrate. To prepare the way before the roots ask for it. ••• More Light, More Intention The garden grows… and demands. I have moved all the pots to the main tent. New order. New scale. I have also doubled the energy: from 100W to 200W. In the center, a 100W panel with a predominance of whites (5000K), clean, balanced. On the sides, two blue COBs (450 nm) with lenses, piercing the space with precision. More light penetration. More control. More intention. I seek compaction. Structure. Density. Everything is in motion. The roots advance in silence. The light falls with purpose. And I… execute the plan while pretending this is “a hobby.” 😍 All for the cause. 🌱 😁 UNTIL NEXT TIME. deFharo Welcome, marijuana growers! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 Yesterday marked a week since I transplanted the plants into 1-liter pots, they are all well established, and it's time to sex them. This weekend, I will reduce the light schedule for all these plants from 23/3H to 9/15H. In 8-9 days, I'll know the sex of each one; the males will be executed, and the females will move to their final pots and return to the vegetative growth schedule of 21/3H... nothing can go wrong! 🤪 To avoid moving pots around since I have 3 feminized plants, I've set up my homemade grow cabinet with 3 good white, blue lights, etc. for these 8 plants, while in the main grow tent, only 4 will remain during these transition days. I’ll turn off a couple of lamps; this season, I'm going to be very careful with electricity consumption, as times are very unstable, and the electricity bill can skyrocket. 😁 UNTIL NEXT TIME. deFharo Welcome, marijuana growers! 🙋‍♂️👨‍🌾 ••• Only She(s) Will Remain New week in the rebel garden, and the eight plants born from homemade seeds are moving towards their destiny. This is no longer growth… it’s selection. Last Tuesday, I drastically reduced the photoperiod. From their comfortable and bright life… to 9 hours of light and 15 of darkness. A little existential blow, which basically tells them: “girls, decide what you are or recess is over.” Now they wait. So do I. If all goes as planned, between Sunday and Monday each will reveal its secret. And then… only the females will remain. Because, let’s be clear: this is not a garden for males. ••• Beauty Under Pressure Despite the light stress, the plants are looking healthy. Resilient. As if they don’t know what awaits them. I continue to water only with spring water, without adding fertilizers. The substrate in these small pots is already starting to run low, and some plants are showing slight deficiencies, especially in calcium. But I’m not worried. The new leaves are growing healthy. The energy keeps flowing. And, in the end, the chosen ones will be transplanted immediately into their final 7-liter pots, where they will find everything they need to recover and unleash their true potential. This is just a test. A filter. ••• Within the Chaos… There’s Method For this experiment, I’ve activated my homemade grow cabinet (60x40cm), specifically designed for these eight candidates. Three intense, very white lamps (125W in total) dominate the space. - On one side, a blue panel of 450 nm. - On the other, a cool white of 7700K. - And above the canopy, a powerful multi-spectrum lamp, enriched with IR and UV. A combination that leaves no room for relaxation. The goal is clear: maximum compactness. To halt the natural stretching caused by the reduction of the photoperiod. The plants respond as they know: they expand their leaves, shorten the internodes, become dense… while, underground, the roots colonize every available corner. Strategy against strategy. ••• Wait and Verdict Everything is in motion. The biological clock is ticking. In a few days, this garden will divide: those that remain… and those that disappear. And I, as always, observing calmly… as if I’m not about to do a little genetic cleanup without any remorse. But hey, that’s how it is. 😜 Nothing can go wrong. 😏🌱 😁 UNTIL NEXT TIME. deFharo Welcome, marijuana growers! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 ••• No more truces: The Revelation Ten days after reducing the light schedule from 21/3 to 9/15, the eight plants have spoken. They have revealed their secret silently, without drama, like those who already know their fate from the beginning. From now on, they will return to a light schedule of 20/4H; revegetation is also revelation. 😍 ••• Eight out of eight. All females. 👯‍♂️👯‍♂️👯‍♀️👯‍♀️ Yes, I know, I'm trying to keep my composure… but this is basically like winning the genetic lottery while pretending it was “planning.” The males, for their part, didn't even show up for recruitment. Cowards. Or smart? 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️ They fled before being called, fully aware of what their fate would have been in this garden: immediate execution, disappearance without a trace, absolute oblivion. Because this… is not a garden for males. ••• Green loyalty in times of war In these uncertain times, where everything seems to be wobbling, this little plant army has decided to stand firm. Eight plants. Eight volunteers. Born from regular seeds that could have brought chaos, division… and what they have brought is unity, loyalty, and presence. They have chosen to stay. They have chosen to fight. And I, of course, am thrilled… losing my mind over them as if I didn't know I now have eight more mouths to feed and a space that’s starting to look like a tactical puzzle. But hey, just small details. ••• The Territory Distribution On the same day of the revelation, without wasting time —very much in an impatient commander style— I prepared a new substrate mix and transplanted each of these girls. Each pot was chosen like assigning a home… or a trench. All different. Because here there is no uniformity. Here there is --diversity, character, and little individual quirks--. I love pots. A lot. Maybe too much. I have dozens. Of all types. I've tried everything: fabric, air-pots, various experiments… And in the end, like any good veteran, I go back to the classics: 7-liter pots, "old school." Manageable. Precise. Perfect for fitting eight plants in my 60x120 cm battlefield. But of course… I couldn't just sit still... I've drilled the sides to improve oxygenation. I've raised the bases. I've manipulated the system as if I were designing life support for a space mission. In the elevated-bottom pots, I keep permanent water in the tray, drawing the roots down like soldiers following the sound of supply. In others, I use risers in the tray to achieve the same effect without the risk of root rot. Roots guided by gravity. Controlled humidity. Available oxygen. An underground war… perfectly organized. 🏹🔫 ••• What’s Coming Now the interesting part begins. Eight females. Eight stories. Eight possible paths to glory… or the controlled chaos that I love so much. 🤪 From here on, each will have her own diary. Her own narrative. Her own destiny within this garden I call “organic and rebellious,” while I execute strategic decisions like a general with insomnia. But yes… all very natural. 🤣 In the end, against all odds —and probably against my own feigned modesty— I have won this battle before starting it. And now comes the hardest part: living up to my own plants, to my own reality. Nothing can fail, for those who endure… right? 😏🌱 😁 UNTIL NEXT TIME. @Jobbie, At first, converting the closet was a good idea; no one would guess he was growing marijuana inside. But the side effects appeared quickly, in the form of black grow tents, suspicious bulges connected to the electrical grid... the rest is history. 😋

@deFharo, I am buying cheap furniture like wardrobes etc and converting them, you can make some pretty cool grow areas hidden around the home.
