hijiki "Nice to meet you! I found some bag seeds and decided to take the plunge into my first grow.
I’ve gathered the essential gear for now, and I’m planning to upgrade or replace things as I go. Initially, I struggled with the coco substrate staying wet for too long, but I managed to improve the humidity and ventilation. I actually taped the exhaust from my carbon filter directly to the intake of my dehumidifier to force-dry the air, and it worked like a charm—dropping the RH from 70% to around 60%.
Even though it might be overkill for coco, I live in a naturally humid area, so I decided to use an air pump and some straws to feed air directly into the substrate! I’m keeping a close eye on it to make sure I don't create any dry spots (air pockets).
I'd love to hear any advice or tips you might have for a beginner!"
