tinytentgrower I don’t have data for the two weeks of propagation or the two weeks of vegetative growth. The plant was grown in a 33 cl plastic cup, which wasn’t ideal. They didn’t seem to like the humidity, even when I limited watering to 50 ml. I added Xtreme Gardening Mykos mycorrhizae during transplanting. I’ve included the germination date and a setup photo. This grow is meant as a control to figure out the best way to maintain good yield and growth speed in a 40 x 40 x 140 cm tent. The goal with faster growth is to rotate through as many varieties as possible and try them all. Setup: - 3 × 8 L pots with Biobizz All-Mix soil - Watering at 5 to 10% of pot volume per watering (about 400 to 800 ml per pot) - Trying to water a day on two to improve root oxygenation - Custom board using ESP-32 to automate air intake, ventilation, and humidification to keep VPD stable - 9 × custom 18W Samsung LED panels made by SuperGreenLab- MQTT communication - Home Assistant configuration - 2 × humidity sensors using 3 probes Future Roadmap: - Magnetic stirrer for nutrients bottles - Laboratory pump to automate precise nutrient mixing based on plant state - Magnetic stirrer for the mixing jug - Pump system to water each pot individually

What do you people think? Defoliate or no? - Keep in veg 1 week but defoliate the fan leaves that are on top? - Switch to flower and defoliate later? - Switch to flower no defoliation?

At times I do some accidental defoliation, and those lost leaves have always worked as a reminder to me why I normally save as many of the original leaves as I possibly can. The side losing fan leaves always ends up with smaller buds for some reason compared to the corresponding side with the leaf still attached; coincidence right?! 😬. The only defoliation I do on purpose is the leaf removal very close to or just after harvesting to expose the colas for some sexy pictures. I prefer to get rid of the leaves before the plant is dry, calling it wet-trimming. :) The trimming phase before the buds end up in the curing jars is the only part of marijuana cultivation where I can go barbarian mode and just turn everything to BHO if things don't go 100% smoothly. Buds has to be dense, nug shaped, high flower to leaf ratio, pref flowers stacked on top of more flowers; no sugar leaves at all or very little, mainly just dense flower-mass. In order for this to happen defoliation is a big no-no and nutrients added are aimed at preventing the plants ability to create leaves in the buds and promote her to create flowers. This is done by letting her have the old leaves still attached and also restrict the N in her food, using the fan-leaves as a marker for how much/little nutrients to administer, nitrogen in particular. Very subjective, of course... if you are into mutilating the plants, calling it defoliation--you do you! Who am I to judge? :)

tinytentgrower 06/04 – Watered the yellow plant to runoff with Week1 schedule of flower, pH 6.5. Runoff was 6.8, still within 6–7, so pH is not the issue. Watered 1L each of the oters, They seem to need more water now, at least 1L each. I'll bump watering next time Lowered the light intensity and VPD back to 1, in order to lower the transpiration and allow them to lower stress. Panels: 60% | 60% | 60% 50% | 50% | 50% 60% | 60% | 60% 07/04 – Added net for SCROG. The yellow one seems a bit better. The back was yellowing a bit too but now back. I’ll keep observing in case it herms, but I’m not too concerned. The front plant is massssssive for only an 8L pot and was not expecting that! Removed two really damaged leaves to better light the canopy of the yellow one 08/04 Watered with 1,5L each. 11/04 Watered with 1L each except the yellow one still humid and removed lower bud sites

One was missing a bit of N due to stretch, they seem to have liked the watering today. 18/03 Watered with 1L each

They seem a bit better 24/04 – Watered with 950mL each; 26/04 – Watered with 950mL each;

Thanks! It’s been a bit of a struggle with BioBizz, with all kinds of issues. I’m starting to think their soil just isn’t that great, but I need to find a new local source of properly made fresh soil.

@tinytentgrower, maybe just go for one grow which Each pot other Soil and try to figure out what works best for you 🙏 Im at the same stage at the Moment ,since my trusted constant used Soil isnt for sale anymore

@squalino 🇬🇧 Thanks! I wasn’t expecting plants to get this big in 8L pots, which is a bit of an issue because it’s harder to maintain a good nutrient/pH balance in organic growing with such a small volume. Next time, I’ll go with two plants in 11L pots for this small tent. One of them isn’t really enjoying being this cramped and has had some issues, but it should still produce some buds.
