mrki420 Mephisto Genetics – Double Guava Run (Week 1)
Germination & Setup
The journey has officially begun! I’ve selected two heavy hitters from Mephisto Genetics: Guavmaster Flash and Guava Fig. Both seeds were planted directly into their final 14L (3.7 gal) pots to avoid any transplant shock.
Medium: Biobizz Light-mix (Perfectly airy for early root development).
Light: Mars Hydro TS 600, currently set at 50cm (20") from the canopy.
Environment: Humidifier is keeping the tent at a steady 68% RH, with temperatures between 24-26°C.
Week 1 Progress
By Day 8, both seedlings have established themselves beautifully, showing great early vigor:
Guavmaster Flash: Currently the "big sister" at 5cm tall. She has a very wide and robust first set of true leaves and a strong central stalk.
Guava Fig: A bit more compact at 3.5cm, focusing on tight internodal spacing and healthy, deep green foliage.
Watering Strategy
I am being very careful with the water-to-pot ratio to ensure the roots breathe while they expand.
Current (Week 1): 250ml per plant, watered in a circle around the base to encourage horizontal root growth.
pH Level: Strictly maintained at 6.2 - 6.4.
Feeding: No nutrients added yet; relying on the light pre-charge of the Biobizz Light-mix.

mrki420 Title: Mephisto Genetics – Day 14: Root Foundation & First Feed
Diary Entry:
The Mephisto run is hitting its stride as we hit the 2-week mark. Guavmaster Flash and Guava Fig are showing excellent vigor in their 14L pots with Biobizz Light-mix. Guavmaster is leading the pack, sitting at a sturdy 10 cm with very tight internodal spacing and broad, healthy fan leaves.
Nutrient Strategy:
This week, I introduced their first light feeding. I prepared a 4L mix with:
T.A. 3-Part (Gro/Micro/Bloom): 1/4 strength (1.5ml Grow, 1ml Micro, 0.5ml Bloom per 4L).
Hesi Root Complex & PowerZyme: 2ml/L each to boost the mycorrhiza colonization and root health.
Hesi SuperVit: 1 drop.
The PPM came in at 350 with a pH of 6.5. Each plant received 700ml, watered in a ring pattern to encourage the roots to seek out moisture and expand into the rest of the 14L medium.
Environment:
Light: Mars Hydro TS 600 at 50cm distance.
Temp/RH: 25°C / 65-70% RH.
VPD: Hovering around 0.8 kPa (perfect for early veg).
Training Plans:
Guavmaster Flash is looking like a prime candidate for LST (Low Stress Training) in the next 48 hours. The stems are flexible, and the side branching is already starting to push through.

mrki420 Overview
We have reached the end of Week 3 (Day 21), and the growth is explosive. Both Mephisto Genetics strains are showing incredible health in the 14L Light-mix. The environment is dialed in with the Marshydro TS 600 providing a steady 460 PPFD at the canopy.
Strain Progress
Guavmaster Flash
Training: Topped at the beginning of the week. Following the recovery, I applied heavy LST using garden wire to pull the main branches outward.
Response: The plant has responded beautifully. The center is completely exposed, and lower nodes are now racing toward the light. No signs of stress from the topping; she is a vigorous grower. No pistils yet, which is perfect as it gives her more time to build a massive frame.
Guava Fig
Structure: This plant is a "crouching tiger"—extremely compact with very short internodal spacing. Unlike her sister, she was not topped. I am sticking to Leaf Tucking and very selective defoliation to manage the density.
Status: As of Day 21, she has officially shown her first pistils. She is slightly ahead in maturity and is entering the "stretch" phase. The density is the main challenge here; I am removing 3-5 fan leaves that were causing "sweating" (moisture buildup) between overlapping foliage.
Nutrients & Environment
Feeding Strategy: Adopting a "Feed-Water-Feed" schedule to prevent salt buildup.
Current Mix: 1.2L per plant of a light mix (350 PPM / pH 6.6).
T.A. TriPart (Grow/Micro/Bloom)
Root Complex & PowerZyme for root health and substrate maintenance.
Upcoming: The next watering will be a "reset" using only Plain Water + T.A. Seaweed (5ml/L) to provide bio-stimulants and hormones as they transition into the stretch.
