QuietColas Seeded directly into happy frog/perlite mix. Surface kept damp with no domes. Good germination mostly. Euphoria a little low but I’ll take the blame on it getting a little dry. I’ll reseed the missing ones to get my count back. Once sprouted gave a decent edge of cup water. Light is a Spider Farmer SF600 on 16/8 light schedule.

QuietColas 3 weeks down. Some serious growth on some of these. Starting the hardening off process with 2 hours of direct sun each day. I’ll increase that amount every few days until we plant the first week of May. Euphoria reseeds 5/7 with 2 green but stalled out. Not sure there. All treated equally. Overall with the Euphoria seeds I’m sitting at 18 out of 25 seeds with a few weak ones. With that said, a couple of the OZ Kush are struggling as well.

QuietColas Veg cycle continuing. Second wave looking good too. The plants are spending their day times outside and are hardened off. Current outside daylight hours are approaching 14. I’ll be transplanting this next weekend direct in ground. Planning to companion plant basil and marigolds.

QuietColas Plants are continuing to grow well. I did plant a few more RQS Royal Medic as the final fillers that are similar to RQS Euphoria. Outdoor rows were final tilled and prepped. Planning on 8’ spacing inside the row and 6’ center to center on my rows. Keep it well ventilated. Typically 6’ spacing is what I run. Tomorrow is planting day after this last polar vortex is over.

QuietColas Plants went in the ground last Monday. Today is day 6 in the ground. I’ve included some photos from transplanting. Amended 3/4 cup of Gaia Green 4-4-4 and 1/2 cup gypsum today. Foliar spray Cronk Armadillo Armor today as well. Plants are looking healthy overall, a little yellowing on the bottom set of leaves. I’ll trim those off soon. I do have 6 Royal Medics still inside just 1 week into growth. These will fill in the last 4 slots out in the field. A little behind but they’ll do fine. It’s been really dry lately so I’ll be putting out drip irrigation lines this week. Once that’s down I’ll top with mulch over the rows and get my stakes in. The plants should keep pushing veg for the next 8 weeks. Primary mission is to provide quality as organic as possible medicine for my elderly mom. Cannabis has been a miracle for her well being while living with early onset dementia.

QuietColas Vegetation continues and getting acclimated to soil. Stakes went in this week along with drip irrigation. I trimmed out the leaves closest to the ground. I’ll get them strapped to the stakes this evening and mulch in the plants as well. The mulch will kick down on the splatter and help hold the moisture in. The Royal Medic are growing just fine. I’ll pot up this week, and 2 more weeks be ready to put them in the remaining 4 spots in the field. RQS Euphoria are catching back up to the others. Super stoked about this 1:1 strain for the therapeutic benefits. The stage is set for a successful grow season.

QuietColas Another week of growth down! We finally started getting some rain this week and it looks like growth is accelerating. You can see the height different in the sativa vs indica dominant strains starting to show up. The Royal Medic was potted up this week and will be ready to go in the ground in a couple weeks. Next task is to get the field mulched and my companion plants in - basil and marigolds. After that we set into mostly routine. BT Spray, Lost Coast Plant Therapy, Gaia green fertilizer every 3 weeks.

QuietColas I was on vacation this past week but we had a nice amount of rain finally. The plants are growing strong. The Mexican Rush and OZ Kush are both nearing 4’ height already. Tonight I’ll fertilize again with Gaia Green 4-4-4 and spray with BT spray. I didn’t notice any caterpillars on the cannabis, but saw a few on my tomato plants. Other task over the next few days -move my Velcro strap up -mulch -plant companion plants Royal Medic are ready to start hardening off, plan to put in ground in the next 2 weeks.

QuietColas This week we accomplished a lot on the farm. All plants fed 1 cup Gaia Green 4-4-4. Sprayed with BT/Lost Coast Plant Therapy. Plants were mulched around the base of each plant. This will help preserve moisture and reduce mud splatter. I defoliated them as well to help maintain airflow and create a little more space from the ground. I filled the remaining 4 spots in the field with Royal Medic. I went 6/6 on germination and successful plant. I need to decide where to squeeze in the last 2, no need to waste. The new concern is that some plants, Mexican Rush specifically, are going to outgrow their 8’ stakes. I’m starting to plant accordingly there. American Dreams is going into pre flower early. This week I’m going to seed clover/grass in my walk ways and continue mulching the beds. I should have basil and marigold ready to companion plant. Side Note : my farm is at 1000-1100’ elevation in North Carolina climate zone 7b.
