Just_A_Grower_ Starting a new experience! I'm trying hydroponic cultivation with a two-plant system and 70L. I added a chiller for cooling the water, an upgraded air pump, a complete monitoring system, and a UPS backup system in case of a blackout. I decided to use only osmosis water by purchasing a specific filter and the Hydro line from Plagron. I softened the seeds in water and then transferred them to rock wool cubes. Let's see what I can come up with! 🏽

Just_A_Grower_ Everything seems to be in order, the two roots have come out of the basket, one seedling showed signs of chlorosis probably because the collar wasn't breathing, so I opened the cube more. The values are stable, and I will gradually increase the nutrients.

Just_A_Grower_ The two sisters are in excellent health, one had a slight slowdown from the early stages, the other is already ahead probably by 2-3 days, I hope they can level out, it's a matter of different phenotypes or just time. I hope 😂 The root system is developing well, I haven't changed the water but I've topped it off and increased the EC to 1.0 by adjusting the Calmag and adding Hydro A+B. pH is always stable between 5.6-5.8, perfect solution temperature, and both seedlings are in great health, I expect a growth explosion next week. In the meantime, I changed the light... I put in a SpiderFarmer SE5000, a bit over the top but the light distribution is perfect at low power. Stable VPD, Vivosun is doing its job.

Just_A_Grower_ Third week of vegetative growth and the plants have exploded. You can clearly see the difference between the two; despite being in excellent health, they've developed differently, one is practically double the size of the other. I applied topping at the fourth node and removed the first. At the beginning of the week, I reached EC1.2 but then I noticed some leaf problems; those brown spots I think are due to a lack of Calcium, so I raised the EC to 1.4 with just calmag and the result seems great because the new leaves show no issues. The roots look nice, very white in the solution and slightly yellow towards the basket. The smell and color of the water is neutral. They are growing at a visible rate. The older sister surprised me because she has insane dimensions. I think that for next week I will change all the water in the tank as soon as the plants have emptied most of the reservoir so I can start with a more precise solution for the initial flowering phase. We're only in the third week!! 😲😲

Just_A_Grower_ I’ve created quite a disaster! 😆 If last week I messed up with the calmag, this week I overdid it with the hydro nutrients a+b. 1.4 was too much. I dropped it to 1.3. I can’t fix the burnt leaves now, but I’ve found the balance again. I’m more and more convinced that the smaller plant has some genetic issues or that all the nutrient stress has stunted its growth. But overall, the new growth looks nice and green. I didn’t add any nutrients but diluted the solution with osmotic water. This first experiment is going like this, and like a good scientist, I’m taking notes for the future. 😄

Just_A_Grower_ I managed to balance the solution. Now I keep the EC value at 1.4 or at least as low as possible to avoid making mistakes again; I will slowly increase it. The damage has been done, and I can't recover the lost time, and I've also noticed a delay in flowering. Let's say one plant is twice the size of the other; I don't know if it's because of the shared reservoir and the competition between the two, but honestly, I'm very satisfied.

Just_A_Grower_ The flowering has started for both. Unfortunately, the smaller plant has fallen quite behind, and I can't sacrifice the larger one to wait for it. I'm also thinking about getting rid of it or trying to transfer it to soil if the conditions worsen. The larger one is growing very quickly; it has a really huge stem and an exaggerated volume for being an autoflowering. Little by little, I'm increasing the EC value. I expect a very vigorous flowering.

Just_A_Grower_ It's impressive the volume and growth speed of this plant, it has an enormous stem, a voluminous canopy, and it keeps growing and developing so fast that it has now overshadowed the smaller one. And I have to say that now that flowering has started, the smaller plant has begun to grow faster. I've never had a plant this big even among the long-vegetative photoperiods. The EC values remain stable at 1.5, I don't increase it because obviously the plant doesn't need it. Defoliation has become unmanageable as it keeps developing leaves and branches.

Just_A_Grower_ It was hard to believe that hydroponics could be so productive, especially with two autoflowering plants! Now it has proven to be absurdly true! One has reached an unprecedented size with huge roots, luckily it has settled down and will now start pumping out flowers, and the other has recovered even though it's slightly behind but still looks great. They are growing at an insane speed that I can't even trim the leaves, I have no more room to move! I just hope I can manage the humidity properly; it's been hot and humid lately. EC is always at 1.5 but I've added PK 13-14 in low doses. The plants are drinking a ton of water and the EC is gradually dropping; every now and then I top up with 30 liters and adjust the solution, and every 14 days I completely change the water. The light is at 45% power. I don't know how to manage it anymore; I need to find a way to defoliate the center.

Just_A_Grower_ I finally managed to defoliate a bit, now more air and light are getting through. The development of the bigger plant is way ahead compared to the other one, the flowers are forming in the best possible way. The plants are drinking, drinking a lot, over 30L every 5 days. I also defoliated the lower part and sacrificed some branches of the smaller plant. But it has bounced back really well! It's even taller now. As for EC values, I always keep it low, rather intact gradually, pH always fluctuates between 5.8 and 6.2. Next week I'll start increasing the PK doses. You can't tell from the photo, but it's developing potentially huge buds and we're still in the middle of the development phase.

Just_A_Grower_ Everything is going really well, we're now at the end and the two plants are producing great. A few burnt tips due to the imbalance between hydro A+B and the addition of PK, which I then adjusted. I'm aiming to increase the PK dose for the last week, then I'll start the flush.

Just_A_Grower_ Last week on low doses of fertilizers, there are some yellowing leaves and yellow tips. Soon I will start the flush because the plants are quite loaded but overall the health is excellent.

Just_A_Grower_ FLUSH! We're almost at the end, I've started the flush decreasing from 1EC to 0.3EC adding only pure water. The pH has been unstable in the last few days because the plant has used the last elements from the reservoir and such a low EC causes the pH to go out of whack. The plants can't stand up, they're so heavy they just flop over. And that's very, very positive 😍 The temperature is high and I'm struggling to maintain a lower temperature. I've lowered the light intensity to 25dli and I'm pushing one hour of UVB a day to grow the trichomes. Just 3-4 more days.

Just_A_Grower_ Super harvest, the potential of almost a year of cultivation in just 13 weeks. 1754g of total weight, aiming for 400-500g of dry buds. Now 7-10 days of drying and then the curing. Great result! 🤩
