Germination
2mo ago
Skinnie Popped x3 each of Killer A5 and Congo, and x2 of the Thai Fantasy Freebies. Funny story, one of the Thai Fantasy freebie seeds was incredibly tiny. I'm talking about the size of the tip of a ball-point pen! So tiny in fact, I had to take a picture of it. I've never seen a cannabis seed so tiny. If you look close enough, you'll see it sprouted with no issues just like the others..... It's just very very small 😀 I'm hoping this one turns out to be something special! The plan is to let them spend a few days in the propogation station before transplanting into a smaller pot, then eventually into my Mother tent. This is a pheno hunt so eventually I'll be taking clones and flowering them out to see which to keep, with the end goal of creating some nice seed stock to use toward future hobby breeding projects.

Skinnie Skipped the first two weeks of veg. Nothing of importance really happened. I will say these seem to be growing slow for being at week 3. But, I think it could have a lot to do with the amount of light I've been giving them... They've been around 200 ppfd from seed, and I think pushing that up quite a bit should get them to start growing! At the end of week 3 is when these pics were taken. I'm only including pics of the Killer A5 for now just due to how busy I've been, but just for the record, Killer A5, Congo, and Thai Fantasy (aside from the runt) are generally all on the same playing field. There aren't any glaring differences just yet, but I expect in the next 2 weeks to start being able to see the uniqueness of each cultivar and phenos.

Skinnie On day 21 after I took those photos, I transplanted them all into bigger pots with a peat/coco/compost/pumice mix. As mentioned I also increased the ppfd from 200 to 400, pretty drastic but I just wanted to see how they'd respond. As you can see, all of them have finally started to grow! It's a little hard to tell from the pictures, but as of right now here's where we stand. Killer A5: Phenos 1 & 2 seem similar, similar structure, height and leaf shape. Pheno #3 has slightly broader leaves and is ever so slightly shorter. Phenos 1 &2 are about 6 inches tall, while #3 is about 5 inches. Congo: #1 is about 2 inches taller than #s 2 & 3. Other than that, they are similar in structure and leaf shape. Thai Fantasy: Thai Fantasy #2 is just about as tall as both congo and Killer A5, with similar leaf shape. Poor little #1 is just trying her fucking best to keep up but she is all sorts of messed up 😂 You can see in one of the pics how mutated her leaves are, and just how TINY it is compared to its sibling. I'm really just keeping it around to see if it's male or female. If it's male, she's gone. If it's a female I'll flower it out and see what happens. I'm moving the pots back and forth between my 4x4 tent with an HLG Diablo, and my 2x2 tent that has some cheap mars hydro light. The only reason they aren't permanently in the 4x4 is because I currently have some Santa Marta Columbian Gold that just flipped to flower.. So I'll move them into the 4x4 to soak up some of that high quality HLG Diablo "sun" , and then move to the 2x4 (mars hydro light)once it's time for lights out. Should give them a nice range in light spectrum too. I'm excited to see how they all turn out! As I think I mentioned, I will eventually cut clones of all of these and flower them out to see which phenos to keep. Looking forward to the next few weeks :)

Skinnie I've been keeping these in a tent with no exhaust fan or carbon filter, just some clip fans for air circulation. This is the first week my wife told me she could smell them. :D So, even though their in veg they seem to be giving off some smell... I can't really tell but my wife says she can. I trust her nose lol. So this week they've all started to grow like crazy. I think the next week or two we'll see some major progress and really be able to tell each pheno apart from one another. However, this week we also ran into a pretty big problem. BUGS!!! I'm not sure what they are, or how they got there.. but we've got em. This is the first time I've dealt with a pest issue in the indoor garden. The only thing I can think of is, I have a worm bin that has a shit ton of springtails and bio life. I used some of the castings to top dress each pot just to give them a little microbial action... I think there was something in there that ended up being a problem. I've included the clearest picture I could take with a 200x phone camera attachment. Do you know what this is? Also included a pic of the damage to the leaf tissue. I SOAKED them all with Athena IPM once in the morning, then once again at night. Also did a very light soil drench with Athena IPM, and they are still there. I ordered some insecticidal soap so we'll see what happens. Anyone know what these are? You see the damage is almost like a calcium deficiency, but they show as tiny white dots. On the underside of the leaves is where I found them. Anyway, I'm hoping to control the beginning stages of this infestation soon, and I'm glad it happened now as opposed to week 4 of flower. LOL

Skinnie Alright so... I went on a business trip this week.. Before i left I thought it would be a good idea to hit them with a very light dose of fish&kelp liquid nutrient ( Down to Earth brand 2-4-1). Well either I fucked up the dosage somehow or they all hated the shit out of it, because I came back to all sorts of problems. Leaves cupped and clawing, some weird deformations happening, they look PISSED. So, I took these photos and then transplanted them into bigger pots with a fresh soil mix. Let's hope they recover soon because I hate seeing them like this! :D On a positive note, I wiped out whatever pest population was going on.. So that's not an issue anymore. As far as differences in phenos, Congo #1 is the tallest by a wide margin. Probably 6 inches taller than the rest, but very little side branching. Kind of just one tall cola. Congo #2 seems to be a nice mix and also has some decent side branching going on. #3 is the shortest by just a hair, and has even better side branching. With the Killer A5 phenos, #1 is also the tallest, #2 is medium size with nice lower branching, and #3 is pretty short and squat and has some very dramatic side branching comparatively. Thai Fantasy #1 got yeeted, I couldn't watch it anymore it was pathetic LOL. But #2 is actually getting huge. Out of all the plants, it's the second tallest under Congo #1. Going to spend a few more weeks getting them healthy and then will cut clones and flower them out. I'll be logging one final week of Veg. My next post will probably be in about 30 days from now once I can get them healthy, root clones and get them ready to flip. I'll list the pheno variations and final notes from veg before flipping to flower. Cheers!

Super curious to see how this goes! There aren’t many Killer A5 Haze reports out there, so I’m really looking forward to this. Been following you and your diary already – fingers crossed for a killer run! 🤞🏼
