Contrary to my initial impressions, it remains well rooted in its vegetative phase and has not yet transitioned to flowering. It is taking this time to strengthen its trunk and branches. Current height: 33 cm (after LST) Vigor: It is clear from the photos that the main trunk is massive. The stems are vigorous and the green of the foliage is perfectly uniform. Work on the plant: LST & Structure: The work with strings continues to bear fruit. I was able to spread the secondary branches very precisely to flatten the canopy. Optimization: The light defoliation done previously has allowed for a good clearing of the lower growth sites. Light now penetrates everywhere, and air circulation in the center of the plant is optimal. System Management & Nutrition: nothing given Autopot Valve: The valve is still closed. I remain vigilant and wait for the pot to be well dry and light before restarting the system, in order to ensure maximum oxygenation of the roots. . Morphological Observation: It appears to have developed fewer secondary branches than its twin sister (who is accompanied by Babouche). The reason is simple: Dora is placed closer to the MAC 1, which has taken quite a bit of light and space, slightly limiting its lateral branching. The structure remains very slender and promising. Visual Marker: To avoid getting lost in the photos between the two plants, I installed a figurine of Dora (my gnome) at its base! System Management & Next Nutrition: Morning Action: I cut off the water supply from the Autopot. Strategy: As with previous stages, I wait for the pot to dry well and lighten. This is the crucial step to prepare the ground before sending it the shock combo: the Bio PK 5-8 from Biotabs. on 21/05 Supply of 0.75 cl of water with 4 ml of PK 5-8 biotabs PH 6.3 Flower Status: The heads have already swelled nicely, the pistils are very white, and the bud structure is compact. The plant is feeding autonomously from the bottom, which has clearly boosted the development and swelling of the buds in recent days. Daily Care (Yesterday): To support this explosive phase, I took a moment to do a targeted manual feed on top: 4 ml of Bio PK 5-8 (Biotabs) diluted in 0.75 liters of water (pH adjusted to 6.3). Just the perfect boost in phosphorus and potassium. Life Note: A little spontaneous trip for 4 days of vacation in Rimini with family! The photos were taken a bit hurriedly just before leaving. With the Autopot system being well open and operational, Dora will be able to drink peacefully from her reservoir during our absence. Climate: Day: 25°C / Night: 21°C Humidity (RH): Controlled via dehumidifier Tent: 1.80m in height 📅 Progress & Maintenance: Firm buds, "horns," and technical correction Morphology and condition of the flowers: Height: 84 cm (+4 cm since last week, the stretch is definitely over, time for swelling). Anatomy of the buds: The buds are visibly swelling and are already quite firm to the touch. Fun visible fact: the developed tips of the protrusions in the shape of "mini-buds" on the main buds, creating a little horn effect (natural foxtailing). Foliage & Smell: Total absence of senescence for now. The leaves display a beautiful and vibrant light green. The smell has become extremely strong and surprising! Health: A few slight contact burns are visible locally on rare leaf tips. Nothing alarming: this is due to the accumulated evapotranspiration (the plant "sweating") when the leaves touched or were handled. 🚨 Important Technical Note (Return from Rimini): Upon returning from 4 days of vacation, I noticed the water had risen to a pH of 8 in the Autopot reservoir. Identified cause: The presence of the air pump in the tank, which raises the water pH very quickly by expelling carbon dioxide. The reservoir has probably been running with too high a pH for a month. Immediate corrective actions: Permanent removal of the air pump from the tank. Change of pH corrector to Plagron's PH Down (special Hydro), known for its much better stability in a static reservoir. 💦 Today's Nutrition: Facing plants that are clearly very hungry and ready to take in more, today's menu has been increased: Supply: 5 ml of Bio PK 5-8 (Biotabs) (increased dose) administered manually from the top. The structure of the flowers is evolving very aesthetically into "wheat spikes," with the calyxes swelling and stacking on top of each other. Resin and trichomes: The trichomes are now nicely milky under the microscope. The resin frost beautifully envelops the buds and the small sugar leaves. 💦 Nutrition & Water Management Yesterday (Last meal): Application of the very last dose of Bio PK 5-8 (Biotabs). Dora received her final boost of phosphorus and potassium to lock in the end of swelling. Today (Rinsing Transition): Final cut-off of the water supply from the Autopot. Strategy: I am indeed switching to manual mode for a 14-day rinse. The goal now is to push the plant to draw on its last reserves, consume the stored nutrients, and gently trigger its senescence with clear water to achieve the purest tasting herb possible. Under the microscope, they are mostly milky but don't yet show any amber tones. 💦 Flushing Management & Soil Life Progress: Flushing (Day 7): It's now been a full week since Dora has been manually flushed with clear water, with the Autopot's arrival remaining closed. Triggering senescence: The reaction didn't take long! Being the big eater she is, Dora is massively drawing from her reserves. Most of her large leaves have spectacularly yellowed in just a week. The contrast is amusing since, right next to her, her sister (with Babouche) still shows a very pronounced green. Situation summary: Everything is going perfectly. The plant is flushing beautifully, the buds are hard, and the bicolor appearance of the canopy (yellow leaves and dark, resinous buds) shows that the harvest time is fast approaching. The layer of trichomes is so thick that it gives a frosty and shiny appearance to the entire plant under flash. The smell emanating from it is phenomenally powerful. ​📝 The Verdict on the Autopot & Biotabs Experience: This first experience with Autopot combined with the Biotabs regimen has been a revelation. The system has proven to be incredibly simple, practical, and effective on a daily basis. Despite a few minor technical issues along the way (like managing pH and the air pump), the session went wonderfully. I can say with certainty today: these are my best sessions! The growth has been simply astounding, and the final structure of the plant is beyond my expectations. ​🔮 Next Steps: The plant is entering its last 48 hours in complete darkness with clear water to perfect its taste. I’m now looking forward to the final weigh-in to scientifically compare the results with my previous Frostbanger session. squalino ​Grow Journal (EN): The Last Page – The Art of Traditional Hashish (Squalino Method) ​The adventure of Dora and Babouche concludes in a grand finale. Nothing is lost, everything transforms: here is the final step in processing the manicure leaves, inspired by the traditional method of the legendary French Cannoli, completely reimagined in my way. ​🛠️ The "Hashmaker" Equipment ​Raw Material: The carefully preserved manicure leaves from my two Frostbanger (F2 Personal). ​Extraction: The Drymbin to sift and collect the kief (dry sift). ​Protection: Mandatory latex gloves. ​Packaging: A food-grade bag designed for vacuum sealing (perfect for withstanding heat without releasing any plastic contaminants). ​Press: A Rosin press (Graveda's Graspresso model) with precise temperature control of the plates. ​ The "Squalino" Method: The Art of Capturing Resin ​The goal here is to use very gentle heat (maximum 50°C) on the plates. Why 50°C? Because it’s the temperature equivalent to the friction of two palms rubbed energetically. Unlike the classic method of the boiling water bottle (which goes much higher), we’re not trying to let the resin flow or press Rosin, but to gently melt the cuticles of the trichomes to trap them in the heart of the hashish. Although this is my very first attempt with these parameters, the result is so promising that I will slightly increase the heat in the next tests. ​The Process Step by Step: ​The Gold Sift: I first performed a very light and quick pass with the Drymbin on my two bags of leaves. The idea is not to insist too much to only recover the purest and most isolated trichomes. ​The Pre-Pressing: With the incredibly pure kief obtained, I delicately formed a first ball in the hollow of my palm. Once it was compact and hard enough, it was ready for the press. ​The Pressing Work: I inserted the ball into my plastic bag (cut on one side for easy demolding). I placed it between the plates next to a silicone mat folded in half: this trick serves as a thickness wedge to prevent the press from squeezing too hard and completely crushing the material. ​The Progressive Pressing: As soon as the two plates come into contact with the plastic and start pressing, we let it heat for 10 seconds. Every 10 seconds, we tighten it a notch. We don’t press all the way: it’s essential to keep a certain thickness to be able to work the texture. ​The Folding (The Secret of Texture): We take out the obtained disc, demold it, fold it several times onto itself to reform a small square, and repeat the operation at the press. I repeated this cycle 6 times in total. ​The Curing: Finally, the warm and malleable disc is manually rolled into a perfect ball, a stunning shiny and oily Temple Ball, and then placed in curing. ​📊 Result & Visual Description ​Final Weight: 2.7 grams of absolutely magnificent "Gold Hash" obtained on the scale! 🤩 ​Appearance: The finished product has an incredibly healthy texture. The warm disc shows golden reflections and a beautiful mirror shine under the light, a sign of pure resin free from plant debris. squalino Bilan Experience feedback on the grow: This strain turned out to be a very easy plant to cultivate. Despite a few totally unintentional mistakes during the run — notably a pH that went too high at times and excessive heat stress caused by lights being too close (due to the large size of the plants and high outdoor temperatures) — it handled the elements super well. It stayed healthy and in excellent condition throughout its life. The Autopot system, on the other hand, worked wonderfully: simple, autonomous, and incredibly effective. The ordeal of manicuring (6 hours of cleaning): While the grow was a smooth sailing, the final defoliation before drying was particularly complex! Due to its pronounced foxtailing structure and the extreme density of the buds, removing the small and large leaves embedded deep within the heads became a meticulous task. It took 6 hours of intensive cleaning. A multitude of "monofeuille" (single-blade leaves) had formed right inside the heads, a typical defensive reaction of the plant to transpire and relieve the thermal stress caused by the proximity of the light. Conclusion of the run: I honestly couldn't have dreamed of a better session. This plant ranks right among my all-time favorites. Unfortunately, this is my last grow before the summer break. I'll see you in September for new adventures where I already have some beautiful surprises in store for you! Despite a few totally unintentional mistakes during the run — notably a pH that rose too high at times and excessive heat stress caused by lights being too close (due to the large size of the plants and high outdoor temperatures) — it handled the elements super well.
