@MindFlowers68, I had to order most of my ingredients online but it's still better than wasting all that soil. Wish I would have recycled right from the start. I've added biochar to my last mix as well, will be interesting to see how it develops over the next 3-4 cycles. I have to get into compost tea rather sooner than later. For now I'm using leftover Biobizz Bio-Grow to charge the coal.

@tantrumrage, Awesome man. Sounds like your off to an earlier start with the rice hulls than me. I wish I would have started adding them sooner. I think perlite does has lots of disadvantages. Wish I lived on the west coast to get pumice cheaper. although lava rock is pretty cheap here. its like 6 dollars for a 1 cubic foot bag. One thing I recommend just from my own anecdotal evidence. Get some bio-char in there too if you don't have any. I think It is a big part of why my reused soil still performs well if not better each time. All you need is a nice bag of hardwood charcoal and something to inoculate it with. This can be done for next to free at home with waste materials too. but for most people is going to be easiest getting a bag of real hardwood charcoal and some fish hydrolysate to make a soup or it to soak in for a few days to a week. There are so many options of what you could do. I've thought about taking my old stems and stalks from grows and turning them into char. I used boogie brew compost tea some liquid fish and kelp. did go anerobic or smelly or anything. did it in a galvanized troth out in the garden with a peice of carboard laying on top to keep bugs out.

@MindFlowers68, thanks for your reply :) I've only started recycling my soil about 1.5 years ago and decided against perlite, I've also added lava rock and pumic stones to keep it airy and rice hulls as well. Your plants seem to love your mixture, keep it going!
