This is my first grow.
About my grow setup:
- 115x76x130 (cm) grow tent.
- 400m3 Carbon filter.
- 2 regular fans.
- 190m2 extractor fan.
- 2x1L regular pots. 2x11L regular pots.
- The soil is organically fertilized with compost, perlite, vermiculite, mycorrhiza so i'm not using any fertilizers until flowering.
- Filtered tap water. PH is 7.3 - 7.7 always need to adjust down.
- Topped above the 4th node.
- Started LST
- Plants strong. Side branches developing well.
- There were slightly yellow colors on one of the plants leaves. Trying to keep the PH at 6.75.
- Lowered CFL
- Stopped LST, will wait until the plants are in a more convenient structure unit LST takes places.
- Learning to LST, a bit clumsy with this.
- In the beginning of the week one of the plants leaves were getting more yellowish. Keeping conditions consistent, hoping that plant will adapt.
- At the end of the week the leaves colors went back to normal.
- Plant growth started to slow down, and soil when pressed with finger feels solid and dense. Time to transplant to 11l pot :)
- When transplanting i sprayed the root ball with water with dissolved Mycorrhiza to help the roots.
- Transplant successful.
- Feeling more comfortable with LST. Bending with more vigor :)
- Waiting for first signs of stigmas to induce flowering.
- Snapped a branch when LST-ing. tied it with duct tape.
- Will have to delay flowering until the branch is in perfect shape.
- Took a few days for the broken branch to bounce back. Looking healthy!
- Ready to induce flowering next week.
- Both plants looking strong and rapidly developing
- Initiated flowering.
- Defoliating some wide leaves that block flowers.
- Some brown spots appeared on some leaves, but eventually no new appeared. The damaged didn't recover. Very minor impact. (Possible due to the addition of Hesi Boost nutrient)
- Continuing to LST. Branches are becoming stiffer. Need to be very careful.
- Very rapid growth
- When i water i let 10% of water run out. This is not only good for the plants, but allows me to measure the soil PH. Found out that there were some imbalances in soil PH, and had to increase PH of the water a bit. Plant #1 had 6.51 PH, Plant #2 had 6.3 PH.
- Both plants look healthy and don't show any issues.
- Defoliating leaves that block light to nice flowers.
- Temperatures started to climb as high as 31C when lights are on. Had to open the doors. This lowered the temperature down to 28C.
- At night Humidity gets to 70-75%. Need to solve the problem as soon as possible. Need RH less than 60%...
- Flower buds starting to develop.
- This week is a Humidity problem week. Daytime humidity is ok 52-55%. At nights my RH gets as high as 75%. I tried to use a crystal dehumidifier, but it is useless. Maybe it sucks 1-2% of water from the air. Had to purchase a KLOUDIC dehumidifier. 23w. 600ml capacity. It works, now night RH is around 62% at night. But i would prefer significantly lower.
- Obviously the bigger the plant is, the more humidity it releases into the grow room. Not sure if this small dehumidifier will do the job right.
- Also i have to keep my grow room doors open as it lowers the temperature from 31c to 28C.
- In general the week #10 went very well. Resolved my humidity problems. Now RH stays 45-50% during the days, and around 58-60% during the night. Beautiful resin glands are forming.
Thoughts:
1. What do you guys think is 190m3 extractor fan enough for a 400m3 carbon filter? Or the extractor fan is doing a bad job?
2. Noticed that even though the plants are same strain. Their color and leaf density is different. One is green, the other is dark green. Wonder why this is the case? I feed them all the same
- So far so good. The growth has significantly slowed. Now only the buds are growing.
- Defoliating a few lower leaves that are 50% dead and don't receive light.
@Puffer_Bill, thanks man! LST is awesome. It really takes use of horizontal space, especially if you want a bigger harvest and want to control the growth height :) A lot of buds receive light that they wouldn't received if growing without bending.
Damm...those Damm snapped branches. Looks good either way. How much fun is your first grow? I'm loving mine that's for sure...and will love the bud even more
@Lovemabud, Its incredible! I have a cannabis growing encyclopedia 500+ pages by Jorge Cervantes. Studying every aspect in detail. Very interesting! A lot of details to consider in my microenvironment.
The branch blew my mind. 90% of it It was snapped off. And it healed completely. Magic of mother nature. I imagine if a cut human limb could grow back in the same way :)
