CanOli95 Welcome to the 2nd round 👋 This strain is Happy Hour, a cross between Tea Time and a Zangria from Wizard Trees. Unfortunately, this strain is not yet listed here on GD. Those who saw my last diary know that not everything went according to plan, but I kept one cut. I had 3 plants from seeds, all of which were absolutely identical. Therefore, in my opinion, it doesn't matter that it's 1 cut from 3 plants. Towards the end, things went well, but I think some potential was lost due to my mistakes and the finicky nature of the strain itself. That's why I just topped the cut with light mix and didn't really give it any nutrients. It's now in a 15-liter pot and hasn't been fertilized. It only receives a root stimulant. What else has happened so far? Actually nothing, just some topping and bending. As you can see in one photo, unfortunately, I bent it a bit too much. The main stem has cracked, but it's healing and supplying all the outgoing branches without any problems. The foliage is green and healthy, so today, at the time of the photos, I'm switching to 12/12. For the fertilization strategy, I did some research and prepared something special: Instead of following a normal grow schedule, I got some components from professional horticulture. With the help of an AI, I can accurately calculate the ppm to be achieved with the components and provide them to the plant. It's a synergy of mineral fertilizers and some biological ones: fulvic acids. Those who know products from Yara and Compi Hakaphos know that these usual products outperform many in terms of effectiveness and especially in price. You just have to be consistent in recalculating and weighing everything precisely because the nutrients are very concentrated. I'm curious to see what potential this strain still has with the optimization; maybe I'll revise my conclusion from the last run.

CanOli95 This week was unfortunately exhausting, and the plant is showing a bit of its nature from the last round again. The plant is not displaying a general nutrient deficiency in the typical way like other strains. Often, this is indicated by necrosis, spot-like necrosis, or a general lightening of the leaves from the bottom. In this case, I fertilized for the first time since repotting, so after more than a month, and it was necessary. The drain EC was at 1.0 and the pH at 6.1. The pH is perfectly fine, but unfortunately, the drain is way too low. I watered with a nutrient solution of 1.7 EC! That's a significant difference. The nutrient mix consisted of Hakaphos Spezial Rot, YaraLiva Calzinit, fulvic acid, Epsom salt, Aptus Regulator, and Aptus P Boost. This results in total with my tap water: N: 220 ppm P: 48 ppm K: 146 ppm Ca: 130-140 ppm MG: 50-60 ppm S: 55 ppm Additionally, I reduced the lighting intensity a bit and set a dehumidifier to 50%. The temperature is 25 degrees with the lights on. This brings the plant to about a VPD of 1.45, maybe a bit less if we subtract one degree for the leaf temperature. I'm doing this so the plant drinks more and simultaneously absorbs more nutrients. I'll now see if the plant positively changes regarding turgor and then follow the same watering schedule soon. The week will be very interesting! :)

CanOli95 We are now on the 14th day of flowering. The plant is developing quite well given the circumstances. There are still clear deficiencies visible, but due to the high feeding, there is a significant improvement in leaf tension. Furthermore, at least in my perception, the purpling of the stems seems to be slightly decreasing. I have increased the nutrients a bit more. So we are at ... per 10 liters: Hakaphos special red: 9 g Yara Calzinit: 9 g Epsom salt: 6.5 g Fulvic: 2 ml Regulator: 1.5 ml This gives us approximately: N: 250 ppm P: 60 ppm K: 170 ppm Ca: 260 ! ppm MG: 80 ppm S: 80 ppm This provides a good basis to catch up and initiate flowering. The first buds are clearly starting to form. Due to the high calcium level, I want to incorporate a bit more buffer in the soil for pH stability and give the plant the opportunity to build more solid tissue. The plant is already drinking about 4 liters every 2 days, with an average temperature of 25 to 26 degrees. I'm curious to see how the journey goes; by the end of the week, there should be quite a bit happening. The lady is already starting to smell a bit. Last time, it wasn't this early; it could be due to the increased sulfur levels.

CanOli95 We are now on day 21 🌻 The lady has really absorbed the nutrients of the week excellently and has settled in perfectly. There’s no pale green to be seen anymore, and the leaves are standing 1A. That's reason enough for me to run the lamp at full power. The lady is drinking well and is very vibrant. I just did a bit of defoliation, just to ensure more airflow. The plant has a ton of leaves that are a bit smaller but intertwined. With this carpet, there can hardly be any airflow. I also tidied up a bit underneath the canopy. I don't like heavy defoliation, so I kept it rather moderate instead of really removing all the foliage. The nitrogen content will be reduced more starting today because the leaves have really taken on a dark green color. Instead, the focus is now on moderately increasing phosphorus and significantly more calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sulfur. Sulfur is essential for good terpene synthesis performance, and the increase pays off quickly, as it also smells much stronger. In general, it can be said that the lady hasn’t really stretched much, which I welcome very much. She’s not significantly growing taller and has settled in well. I’m curious to see how it goes from here. So far, it looks significantly better than in the last run, if you take this week as a benchmark. 🌺

CanOli95 This week went very relaxed. I'm married to my watering can because the lady enjoys almost 3 to 4 liters every day in her 15-liter pot. I just noticed that I might have overdone it a bit with the potassium. Watering was done with 10 liters each: Hakaphos Spezial: 5g Greenhouse feeding Calcium EDTA: 5g Epsom salt: 3g Potassium sulfate: 0.5g Aptus Breakout Powder: 1.5g Aptus Regulator: 1.5ml That makes a net of approximately: Nitrogen: 95 ppm Phosphorus: 64 ppm Potassium: 172 ppm Calcium: 85 ppm Magnesium: 44 ppm Sulfur: 53 ppm In the next step, potassium will be reduced a bit again so that calcium and magnesium are not blocked. The recipe will be adjusted to: Hakaphos Spezial: 5g Yara Liva Calzinit: 3g Greenhouse feeding Calcium EDTA: 2g Epsom salt: 6.5g Potassium sulfate and Aptus Breakout Powder will be removed this week. This brings me to approximately: Nitrogen: 126 ppm Phosphorus: 17.5 ppm Potassium: 124.5 ppm Calcium: 114.5 ppm Magnesium: 62 ppm Sulfur: 37.5 ppm Thus, potassium and calcium are almost on par, which significantly improves absorption. Nitrogen will also be slightly increased so that it doesn't fade too early. The LED will be dimmed slightly to 80% because it's quite a bit of pressure on the buds, and I want to avoid bleaching the head buds. Overall, she seems to be handling high ppfd values well.

CanOli95 Tag 35, here we go! 🌻 The plant hasn't seen that many nutrients this week. I think it was a bit too much potassium, which blocked calcium and magnesium a bit. So, the recipe will now be adjusted to the situation. Per 10 liters, there will be: 5 grams Hakaphos 5 grams Greenhouse feeding Calcium EDTA 5.5 grams Epsom salt 1.5 grams Potassium sulfate This results in: N=80 ppm P=17 ppm K=151 ppm Calcium=91 ppm MG=54 ppm S=56 ppm I'm starting to push the nitrogen a bit because the leaves are still very green at the bottom. Otherwise, there won't be any fade. I assume it will be another 4 to 5 weeks in flowering. The top buds are a bit pale; I dimmed the LED to 80% power, as 100% was probably a bit too much. Overall, I'm satisfied with the development of the buds; they are already significantly further along than last time at the same point. 🌻

CanOli95 Start of week 7 🌺 The week went very smoothly. The lady drinks a lot and isn't acting up. Unfortunately, she isn't making any big leaps compared to the last run when she was a mother plant. The condition is much better, or rather without phosphorus deficiency, but I can't smell any special terps, despite the peak bloom. The sulfur content has been increased, but it doesn't seem like anything is really coming from that. Overall, she should be well off at an EC of about 1.3. The recipe for 10 liters consists of: Hakaphos Spezial soft red: 5 g Greenhouse feeding Calcium EDTA: TG Epsom salt: 5.5 g Potassium sulfate: 1.5 g This results in approximately: Nitrogen: 80 ppm Phosphorus: 17.5 ppm Potassium: 151 ppm Calcium: 95 ppm Magnesium: 54 ppm Sulfur: 56 ppm So far, I find it a bit disappointing for a "premium genetics.

CanOli95 Week 8 is starting 🌺 This week I only gave tap water because there are still more than enough nutrients available. The lady is developing well and isn't being fussy. Most of the trichomes are transitioning from clear to milky, and you can also find some amber ones here and there. Most of the pistils are brown, and the end is near. I estimate another 1 to 2 weeks, then it can be harvested. The aroma is now coming through much stronger, bringing a pleasant acidity with sweetness. A nice modern scent. From the last plant in this regard, I can still say: The effect is really something. A very strong high that develops into a hyperfocus after a short time and makes the eyes super red. Since everything went much better this time, I'm curious to see how the high will be this time.

CanOli95 Last week 🌺 The lady looks very good and is fading as planned. This week there was only tap water, and I will stick to that this week as well. The trichomes are getting more milky, and I'm also finding more amber ones. The compactness of the buds is stable, even with a lack of water, which is a good sign for ripeness. The scent is sweet-sour, but not too overpowering.

So, the second round is over and my conclusion is a bit better this time. The Happy Hour is a slightly harder strain to grow because it doesn't show deficiencies and over-fertilization in a classic way. You really need to know what you're doing and rely more on the data from the drain and, if you want, the slurry test. But once the strain gets going, it really takes off. I'm truly amazed at how beautiful the branching has developed from just one cutting. It's definitely very vigorous but stays compact. It tends to branch out more, and the stretch is very manageable. In terms of appearance, it's a classic poly-hybrid, which is also reflected in its effects. It hits quickly and strongly, even for experienced smokers. You get a strong hyper-focus accompanied by a weightlessness in the body, with the head-high being significantly stronger. The buds grow more pyramidally together, and occasionally at the tips, even in hot temperatures, they turn purple. When cultivating, you need to be careful not to set the light intensity too high during peak flowering, as anything over about 900 can quickly lead to bleaching. The plant emits a rather mild smell, so it's not a real stinker. Its aroma is more herbal, with a clear acidity and slight sweetness, although the herbal acidity is definitely stronger. I wouldn't describe this strain as candy; rather, this acidity smells more natural and not artificial. One parent is the Tea Time, and I think the lineage is really recognizable here. It smells like you've just brewed a fresh tea. But is this strain worth its price? To be honest, I think not really. I stand by the fact that other breeders also release strong genetics at a much better price. However, I wouldn't completely write off this breeder. If there's a good deal and it really intrigues you, you can definitely go for it. Still, I wouldn't expect too much from this premium segment. Since at least within my seed pack all 3 plants grew equally, I would rather suggest pooling with friends and getting a pack together. As far as I've seen from Wizard, he also plans to expand more into the European market. There, you'll definitely be able to buy cuttings, and there will generally be more options. Who knows, maybe I'll hit the Cannafair with a friend again this year. If anyone has a recommendation for a stronger smelling, sour strain, I would appreciate the suggestion.

CanOli95 Honestly, not much happened this week. I just watered and watched the color play progress. The fade turned out really well, and I think I could have planned it for a week later. Overall, I'm satisfied with the week.
