Wojkers Dear Diary, another run has started. This time we are going with another strain from Sensi Seeds: Chocolate Rainbow XXL feminized. GMO x Gelato 41 is a pretty strong background, so I’m excited for this one. It is a 65% indica / 35% sativa hybrid, and I’m curious about the aroma on this one. The seed took 2 days to germinate. After germination, it was placed directly into BioBizz Light-Mix. Soon I will transplant it into a 3 L pot filled with Plagron Grow Mix. I switched to Plagron for this run and will be using the full range of additives. At the start we want to take it easy and not push too hard right away. I’m excited to see how it goes. Feeding: 1 ml/l Pure Zym 1 ml/l Power Roots Temp and RH values will follow soon. PPFD started at around 150 to 200 and is currently up to around 340 µmol/m²/s. Big thanks to Sensi Seeds for the support on this run 💚

Wojkers Dear Diary, vegetation week 1 is done and so far the start has been smooth and healthy. Avg values: Day: 24.0°C / 50% RH Night: 20.5°C / 63% RH At the end of the week she was transplanted into 2.5 L pots filled with Plagron GrowMix. I increased the lamp distance to 50 cm and raised the PPFD from around 300 to about 450 µmol/m²/s. I also started rotating the pots a little every day to keep light exposure and airflow 'more' even. We‘re still taking it easy with the nutrients for now. Up to this point I only used additives. Terra Grow will probably be introduced around week 2 or 3, depending on how she develops. See you next week and big thanks to Sensi Seeds for the support on this run 🤟

Wojkers Dear Diary, veg week 2 is done, and the start of the week was a bit slower than expected, especially compared to the Garlic Gas in the tent. You can tell she is building strength, and the stem is getting stronger at the base, but overall she is still a little behind in growth. Avg values: Day: 24°C / 39% RH / 1,84 kPa Night: 21,5°C / 48% RH / 1,31 kPa This week has been pretty dry due to the climate outside PPFD around 360-440 µmol/m²/s Originally I wanted to keep her in the 2.5 L pot for longer, but during week 2 I decided to transplant her into the final 11 L pot already. It was also a good chance to refresh the soil situation, because I had clearly overwatered the 2.5 L pots before. You can still see that a bit in the yellow cotyledons. I think that slowed growth down for a few days. During transplant I also noticed that the root development on our Chocolate Rainbow XXL was the weakest so far, which could be related to the overwatering. Nutrient-wise I’m still only using additives for now. During this week i sprayed Vita Race two times at 5 ml/l. Terra Grow will probably be introduced in 1 to 2 weeks. This plant showed a slightly yellowish look at times, but it didn't came from underfeeding. It may have been the opposite, with the Grow Mix being a little too rich for plants at this early stage. Progress has been sweet so far. I’ll probably start topping soon, likely topping twice this run. I'm keeping rotating and occasionally repositioning the pots to create more even light exposure and airflow. See you next week and big thanks to Sensi Seeds for the support on this run 🤟

Wojkers Dear Diary, veg week 3 is done and she is looking healthy. She started a little slower than the others, but caught up nicely. At the end of week 3, I started topping. So far I’m very happy with how she is developing. The plant has recovered well from the earlier overwatering and currently has the thickest stem in the tent. The side branches are also looking strong. Avg values: Day: 25°C / 37% RH / VPD 2.00 kPa Night: 21°C / 45% RH / VPD 1.4 kPa This week was still pretty dry due to the outside climate, but towards the end of the week and now in the middle of week 4, RH is back around 50 to 60%, so it’s not really a problem anymore. Feeding: I introduced Terra Grow in veg week 3 instead of week 4. Since I overwatered the soil quite heavily after transplanting, I think some of the nutrients from the Plagron Grow Mix may have been washed out. During this week I sprayed two times Vita Race 5ml/l. There are some brown spots or residue on the leaves afterwards, so next time I'll lower the concentration a bit to avoid those. PPFD is around 550 µmol/m²/s in the center and drops to around 380 to 400 µmol/m²/s towards the outer areas, with the lamp hanging at 50 cm distance. Chocolate Rainbow XXL is supposed to grow large, bushy leaves, and that definitely seems to fit so far. Garlic Gas, the other strain in the tent, also has pretty large leaves, but overall this plant is growing compact and strong. I’m still regularly rotating and repositioning the pots to improve light exposure and airflow. See you next week and big thanks to Sensi Seeds for the support on this run 💚

Wojkers Dear Diary, veg week 5 is done, and overall I’m really happy with how Chocolate Rainbow XXL is developing so far. The second round of topping was done this week, bringing the plant to 16 main tops in total. The two lowest branches were removed as well because they were getting too little light and probably would not have developed properly anyway. A little bit of LST was done this week by slightly adjusting two branches to improve the light distribution. PPFD is currently averaging around 520 µmol/m²/s, and the lamp was increased from level 7 to level 8 during the week. This week was definitely warmer because of the outside temperatures. Since the exhaust runs through the open window, the room still heats up quite a bit during hotter days, even with the blinds closed. Despite that, the climate stayed surprisingly stable overall. Avg values: Day: 28.0°C / 57% RH / VPD 1.62 kPa Night: 24.2°C / 57% RH / VPD 1.30 kPa The switch to Plagron is going really well so far. Vita Race is currently being used twice a week as a foliar spray at a reduced concentration of 1.25 ml/L, and since lowering the dosage the brown residue/spots on the leaves have not been an issue anymore. Chocolate Rainbow XXL is developing a really thick stem and strong side branches already. The leaves are large and bushy, exactly what I hoped to see from this strain. Overall really happy with her progress right now. She responds very well to training and keeps developing a nice and healthy structure week by week.

Wojkers Dear Diary, veg week 6 is done. This update overlaps with the beginning of week 7 since the switch to 12/12 is planned in a few days. During this week, the final cleanup before flower was done. The plants were defoliated and lollipopped to clean up the structure before the flip. Chocolate Rainbow XXL was lollipopped the evening before these pictures were taken and so far seems to be recovering well from the stress. After this final round of work, the switch to 12/12 is planned in around 3-4 days to give the plants a little time to recover first. Chocolate Rainbow XXL responded very well to the cleanup so far and now has a cleaner structure with 16 main tops. A little bit of LST was done some weeks ago by slightly adjusting two branches to improve the light distribution. The plant is currently around 36 cm tall and keeps developing a very thick stem with strong side branching. The leaves are still large and bushy, exactly what I hoped to see from this strain before defoliation. The lamp intensity was increased again during the week and is now running at level 9. The Popcorn lights on the outer bars of the tent were activated this week and linked together with the main light through the AC Infinity controller, so they always run at the same intensity level. PPFD is currently averaging around 800 µmol/m²/s across the canopy. Avg values: Day: 28.0°C / 57% RH / VPD 1.62 kPa Night: 24.2°C / 57% RH / VPD 1.30 kPa The switch to Plagron continues to work very well so far. Vita Race is currently being used twice a week as a foliar spray at 1.25 mll Overall really happy with how the grow is looking right now. The structure before flower looks very promising. Now the plants will get a few days to recover, then the switch to 12/12 finally begins. See you in flower week 1 💚
