This year’s outdoor run has just started. I think I chose my seeds more carefully this time. I specifically looked for strains that don’t develop overly dense buds, since I lost two plants to bud rot last year. They started with big, fat colas and ended with big, fat fungus. So this year it’s all about long branches with smaller, airier buds. Let’s see how that plays out.
All three seeds popped within three days. To keep things simple, I’m calling May 3rd, 2026, Day 1 for all of them. One of them, the Old School Blues, started leaning to the side early on. I suspect slightly too high humidity or weak early structure, but I’ve already stabilized the seedling. Hopefully it’s nothing serious. If it continues to struggle, I might germinate another seed.
The plan for this run is straightforward: 30 days indoors, then move them outside to finish. I’ll add two BioTabs to each pot on Day 5.

I’m glad I decided to keep the OSB seedling. It recovered nicely and is now growing alongside the other two without issues.
On Day 7, I added two BioTabs to each pot and gave each plant about 100 ml of water to keep the soil slightly moist. Since I initially saturated the soil with around 1.5 L per pot, they currently only need a few small sips of fresh water.
I’ll raise the LED power to 30% on Day 8.

This week I raised the LED power to 30%. Tomorrow I will increase it further to 40%.
I watered twice, increasing the amount of water given to roughly 250 ml per watering. The plan is to gradually increase the amount of water the plants can handle without getting overwatered to at least 1 liter by day 30, so I can install the drip irrigation system.

The plants are doing great, even though it is getting quite hot here and the VPD is far from being optimal. You can already see the different structures of each strain emerging. So far, OSB is my favorite.

The plants have already started flowering. Normally, I would expect them to begin about a week later, but I am perfectly fine with that. The OSB seems to be vegging a little longer, while the Canna:Cheeseis already developing what looks like a promising main cola.
Besides that, they are getting really thirsty. They consumed their first full liter of water, and today I even watered 1.3 liters per plant.
This week is not expected to be particularly sunny, so I think it is the perfect time to move them onto the balcony. With humidity levels rising and the first bud sites appearing, I don't really have much of a choice anyway. Time to send them outside!

As planned, I moved all three plants outdoors on day 30. The weather was mostly cloudy and rainy, which helped them transition without being shocked by intense sunlight.
Today the weather is finally starting to improve, alternating between sunshine and clouds. I hope they will soon experience the full power of the sun. Even under the current conditions, however, they seem very happy. They are drinking a lot of water despite receiving additional moisture from the rain.
The buds are starting to develop nicely, and I expect the plants to reach full bloom in about two weeks. Just as Mephisto described, the OSB appears to be developing a little slower than the other two strains. At the moment, the Canna:Cheese seems to be the quickest. It is already producing plenty of trichomes and has started to develop a fantastic sweet aroma.
So far, I am very happy with how this grow is progressing. My biggest hope now is that I won't have to deal with bud rot later in the season. So please, weather - stay on my side!
