Both are in Fox Farm Ocean Forest and will later be in as 70/30 mix of ffof and perlite. No nutrients yet, just somewhat filtered well water. Under a 600w bloomspect LED in a 3'/3'/5' tent, the fan in the top is the only one on for now. Day 7 for the bigger plant, Day 5 for the smaller. Stunted the bigger plant with overwatering right off the bat but it's recovering nicely. Planning to take these 5-6 weeks in veg and use fox farm trio. These will eventually end up in 3 gallon pots. Sorry about the pictures with the light on. Any questions, suggestions or comments are more than welcome. :)

My first post was June 2nd. These pictures are from June 14th. The conditions this week were much the same. The plants are still in fox farm ocean in solo cups under the same light.

Transplanted into 3 gallon containers with KIS organics water only soil. Plant #1 is still looking really sad and sick, not sure whats wrong. Plant #2 is super healthy, Their conditions are identical. If anyone can help would be wonderful. Someone on reddit said its just a seed with weird genetics and so I will probably replace her with a new seedling if this continues. Thanks for checking out the diary and feel free to leave comments or suggestions :)

I had to move the weird plant elsewhere. It's still going, same problem but bigger, just keeping it to see what happens. it must have been genetics. I've moved 2 new plants into the tent, both are Blue Matter from Kingdom Organic Seeds (https://www.kingdomorganicseeds.com). The Rev has great genetics and this is from his "Rev's gambles" (untested strains). These are regular seeds so we're hoping for females. I have other Blue Matters going that are much more mature, and they are mostly showing pistils already, so I'm either getting lucky or these are actually feminized. The healthy and now only Sensi Skunk in the tent is doing amazing. I've been doing some low stress training on one of the Blue Matter plants and its reacting nicely. I've never done LST before and this is my first attempt. I looped a rubber band around the top of the plant and taped it to the side of the pot. Overall the grow is going fantastic and I'm looking forward to the results. All plants are growing in KIS Organics Water Only soil, which I highly recommend. As always comments are welcome :)

Super happy to see that both are female, especially the LST'd blue matter, since it was grown from a regular seed. Both have still only been fed water and I'm unsure about feeding them, as I haven't used this soil in this quantity before. Regardless, the plants seem to be thriving. For day 14-15 of flower the buds and pistils are coming super fast, very pleased so far.

Do I need to feed liquid nutes during this grow? They're in soil which claims to be water only but recommended 7 gallons and they're in 3 gallon containers. Big plant has slight N toxicity on leaves. I have fox farm trio on hand, should I start 1/4 strength? Just big bloom? Wait?

@DrFriendlyFriend Hi mate No I would not add any more nutrients to what seems to already pretty hot soil your using especially if you have a nitrogen toxicity problem. I would continue feeding with plain water until the last 2 weeks of flowering and then you add a little molasses in with the water to help sweeten those buds Hope this answers your question mate

Just watering as recommended. Got some molasses for the last 2 weeks. Bud production coming along nicely. Tempted to hit the Sensi Skunk with some big bloom or tiger bloom at some point but for now it seems to be handling the conditions fine. Sensi Skunk showed what seemed to be light burn but ive raised the light as high as it goes and now it should be fine. The plant must be about 3-4 feet tall now. They have also started drinking more, im now watering every 3 days instead of 5. Looking forward to growing automatics next grow, hopefully they should be more compact :)

Sensi Skunk has had some leaves die and lots of yellowing. Most concerning is the curling ends of the leaves at the top of the plant. If I was to guess the top of the plant is from the heat, as its been getting very hot during the day, but I am unsure. I will be posting a grow question concerning it. The Blue matter has had some leaves die at the bottom but seems to be progressing fine.

Well they looked good for the longest time and then about two weeks ago it really kicked up ..I think the lack of nutrients is causing her to pull from all the other leaves and then add into the stress of being to close to the light causing brown tips first and then the drooping tips ,you should start cal mag for sure it is essential growing building block .. Some nutrients will do alot to help 1/4 fox farm and ya good luck on the ref of your grow..

I've removed most of the really brown leaves after I took these photos. The Blue Matter is still outperforming the Sensi Skunk, but at this point I'm convinced that I've gone wrong somewhere with it. My water is PH'd at 7.0ish so next grow I will be PHing down. Next grow I will also be using at least 5 gallons of soil. Both are demanding more water, one day even showing some serious underwatering symptoms. I've started watering the Sensi Skunk every day, with about half a liter of water. The Blue Matter seems to prefer watering every two days with about a liter. I've decided to feed the Sensi Skunk 1/4 strength Tiger and Big bloom, along with some molasses during the next week. Depending on how it responds I may do it again. After these pictures I picked off most of the brown leaves you can see here and I also did some research into little brown spots that have appeared on the Blue Matter plants leaves, which appear to be a calcium deficiency. I'm gonna do some research into whether I should feed the plant anything during this next week.

Buds still developing, I will be chopping on 9/7 as long as the trichomes look good. Both were fed molasses about a week ago and the big plant was given a light dose of bloom nutrients, which it seems to have responded to well.

Grow Questions

NipplesMDstarted grow question 5 years ago
I've chopped the plants, big one is whole plant and small one in branches. Is my 6" roof fan (seen week one) on "low" (1/3) enough ventilation if they're both hanging in the tent? I've turned off my circulation fan, should I put it on low underneath the buds? Humidity ~55

I typically leave them at 50% humidity for the first 2 days then increase the humidity to slow down the drying process to about 60%. As long as you have some air movement inside the tent you should be good. Running a small fan inside the tent is fine as long as it's not blowing directly on the hanging plants. Depending on the size/density of the buds usually a 7-10 day drying period is fine. I usually remove the smallest buds (4-5 days)then the med buds when they are dry enough and put them loosely in jars with a digital hygrometer. Goal is to get them down to 62% humidity then let them cure for 3 weeks then sample some buds. If the humidity is in the 64-67% range you can just leave the top off the jars for a couple of hours a few times a day. If they are over 67% to 70% you need to remove them from the jars and leave then out for several hours then put them back in the jars to see where you stand. Teflon baking pans work well for me. Once they are down to 62% and 1st week of curing I remove the tops from the jars 2- three times a week just to make sure they smell properly without any musky ammonia like odors. Weeks 2-3 I'll check them once or twice a week. If you wind up with low humidity under 62% you can get a clean cotton ball and wet it with distilled water then squeeze the excess out and add it to your jar for a few hours to bring the humidity back up then remove it. You can cut a small piece of aluminum foil for it to sit on. Hope this helps you will get ten different opinions on the best way to dry/cure your buds always do what works best for you.👍

I'm amazed how the skunk pulled through, the top cola is huge. The browning of the fan leaves had me worried for a bit but a light dose of bloom nutrients seemed to really help. I haven't weighed them wet, but it's looks like I got a good yield for two plants. I will weigh when dry for sure. Definitely going to continue to use this soil in the future, although next time I will definitely be using 5 gallon smart pots. This grow was so much more successful than my previous one and I'm super happy with it. I'm hoping this means that my next grow will be even better :) Thanks so much to everyone that responded to my grow questions!! I will be updating this page with the effects, weight, and tastes along with anything else I can think of in the next two or so weeks. Big thanks to Sensi Seeds, KIS Organics, Kingdom Organic Seeds, Bloomspect etc. 9/17: Yield was a little lower than I expected, although not bad at all. I have sampled both plants, and the Skunk is very relaxing and happy feeling, while the Blue Matter is more of a head high. Both are in 2 mason jars curing. The Skunk weighed in at 33 grams, not bad at all for one plant. The Blue Matter plant weighed in at 26 grams, which may be partially due to the distance from the light, a slightly early harvest and a slight lack of nutrients. Both plants could have been fed more for sure, and I will be giving more flower nutes next grow. Overall I'm happy with how things went and I'm looking forward to the next one. Next grow I will be growing at least 3 plants in the same space, with some LST on each. 1 or 2 of Royal Queen seeds Royal Cookies Automatic, one Dynamed CBD Plus by Dinafem, and another Sensi Skunk that is a clone from this plant, which I am vegging to be massive. Thanks for reading/looking through the diary!!!
