A friend gifted me these seeds for an outdoor grow. He said the seeds are over a year old. So I put them in a glass of water. Will they germinate in the glass or should I move them into the happy frog?

Well it looks like it's been 4 days since you posted this but how did it turn out? Typically they will germinate in a glass of dechlorinated water if the seeds are viable.

Hi Toronto... Ich würde die älteren Samen für 24 std.in Wasser aufquellen lassen und dann in ein Happy Frog geben. Viel Glück

Hey Toronto416! Putting them in a glass of water is a great way to "wake up" older seeds by softening the shell, but you don't want to leave them in there too long. Once you see a tiny white taproot starting to peek out (the "pop"), it's time to move them into your Happy Frog soil. If they stay submerged for more than 24-48 hours after popping, they can actually drown from a lack of oxygen. If they haven't popped after 24 hours in the water, go ahead and move them to the soil anyway the moisture they've soaked up should be enough to get them moving! Happy Growing Growmie🌱

My seeds all are at the bottom of the cup. I will put them in containers with the happy frog. What would be the ideal size containers for the seeds?

The key is to increase the pot size each time you repot the plant, say twice the pot size each time. So each time it has enough space to develop the root system and you have less chance of overwatering.

hi.....

no larger than what allows you to water properly... potting up is not stressful unless someone uses their gi joe kung fu grip on the rootball for funsies.
