Caertner Two directly on coconut coir tabs, two on paper towel. Unfortunately, I left the winter garden open too long one evening, it got a bit cold... the poor germination rate is my fault, not the breeder's! The Gorilla Glue Orig. didn't show up at all. Too bad, this is already my second attempt with GG#4...

Caertner Lady #1 goes straight to the source - right at the bottom of the net pot, putting the 4-8mm clay pebbles from Dehner on top (to hide the asparagus - season's over!)
She should get used to the hydro feeding right away. The sooner the roots adapt, the better. After a week, I'll treat her to that.

Caertner Beginning of week 2:
Hydro is developing nicely. Beautiful big leaves for the number of fingers...
The little runt is slowly making progress. The transplant went quite well for her.

Caertner Unremarkable week.
The short internodes indicate too much light, I raised the lamp a bit so that the seedlings standing sideways also get a bit more light.

Caertner This week it has already gained a good amount of space. With the higher light intensity, it also stays nice and small.
The sister in soil is doing quite well too. Next week it will be time to switch her to an outdoor diary...
Update: I've started training. Tying down the main stem and bending the rest into the light.

Caertner Removed a few leaves here and there, tied it down a bit more, and changed the nutrients a little. A bit more grow.

Caertner Enough veg, now it's time for some flower.
Moved into the bloom tent. System technology makes it easy. No soil, no mess... just a few water splashes.
Time-lapse camera is set up. First test was okay, but it can be better.
Since there was also a water change in the bloom circle today, I could slowly acclimate them to the higher nutrient concentration... whether the hour will make a difference at the leaf tips is questionable. I'll keep you posted.

Caertner I set up the time-lapse camera. Let's see what it captures ;)
Otherwise, not much has changed since the switch about a week ago. The stretch has been rather subdued so far. But it could still happen.

Caertner Defoliated her twice.
Otherwise, she has gained about 5cm, had to tie down a few branches further for better distribution.
I don't think the nylon nets are a great solution, I'd rather reuse wires.
Let's see what's going on with the buds... aha: First signs are visible, one week in, much more to go...

Caertner At least once a week, defoliated.
Otherwise, she's already had a bit of stretch, but it's within limits...
Smell is starting to come in slowly.

Caertner Always defoliate a bit and pinch the lower axils (Lolipop).
I hope for a fuller bloom from this lady than from the BlueSkunk. We'll see.
No deficiency symptoms, no growth pauses. This lady should be wearing fur soon.
Update: First layer of powdered sugar is on... Due to demand and testing, "Supercropping" was applied to two shoots:
Shoot mutilation:
Squeeze between thumb and index finger and gently press or roll until the inner structure gives way, but the outer skin remains intact. Then you can bend the shoot 90 degrees without breaking it. In 7-10 days, the bend will be swollen and healed. The shoot becomes stronger and has a higher yield... at least that's the plan. Pictures to follow...

Caertner Supercripping test in BW5 doesn't look too bad. The buds are still developing... although a bit slower at first...
But the top 3 nodes are now completely in the light... should heal better in the next few days and the flowers will get thicker.

Caertner Not bad at all this week.
The two bend points have recovered quite well. Flowering hasn't really slowed down, and the lower buds are now getting better light.
Let's see what happens in the next few days and weeks... we'll see!

Caertner Lightly defoliated and a bit bent... unfortunately, one of the side branches tore at the base while bending. About 2/3 are gone...
This is going to be the real test now. I only stabilized the branch but left the wound open. The branch is probably dead... let's see how much about 1/3 of the lower branch base can still produce...

Caertner Always defoliate a bit. Supercropping worked quite well.
You guys should smell them...
