💚Carpa de esquejes y sus cuidados 💚

Chrisandweed Well, I'm posting this diary, not really to finish it, which I will do at some point, but to update my cuttings, share my growing methods, and things I do with them, etc., etc. For now, all the cuttings come from different batches, and they are from the plants in my current grow that are in another (bigger) cabinet flowering. This small cabinet is organized in such a way that: the two passive ventilation windows are halfway open, and at the top duct outlet, instead of a duct leading outside and such, I simply have a small linear extractor, one of those that costs €15, connected to a power regulator. This helps me control the extraction of this cabinet. I also have a Wi-Fi sensor to monitor humidity and temperature, and the lights and extractor are connected to a Wi-Fi power strip, so if I want to control light photoperiods or stop the extraction to raise humidity, etc., etc., I can do it from my phone. In principle, these cuttings will be here until September! For now, I'm doing apical prunings on all of them, on all the shoots, and literally cutting at the first of the shoots, making them as small as possible. Around the end of June, I think I'll need to trim the root ball since they still have a long way to go. In the future, I will try to get another tent like this one, other lights, although this time something more powerful, enough at least to flower properly, and then I can have this little one for cuttings and to maintain genetics and germinate seeds, another little one to flower them but with males to get seeds and start making crosses that I already have prepared (right now my males are the hash plants), and finally the big cabinet where I will harvest 🔥🔥 In the photos, there's one where the plants are unpruned, so you can see the before and after; I pruned them just yesterday. Then, for my final intentions with the cuttings, which is to get as many apical shoots as possible and also have some crazy roots, I start rooting them in seed trays (I'll post the process later when I repeat it). Once they have roots, I move them to a small white cup, and once that is full of roots, to a 1L pot, and from there they won't move. However, more or less two months after transplanting to the 1L, I will have to trim the roots.

Chrisandweed Well, again apical pruning and defoliation to control the size. Later on, I'll have to do root pruning, but for now, no. They're doing really well; with the last watering, they had a tremendous growth spurt. I've uploaded photos of the before and after of today's pruning and defoliation.

Chrisandweed Well, I had to throw away one of the cuttings, I admit it, I totally neglected them and one of them said, yeah? Well, you're gonna regret it! 😅😂 Well, they're much better now, especially the first one on the left, it's HUGE! A couple of days ago, I saw fungus gnats, I put out yellow traps and yesterday I didn't see any, they were all stuck! 😂😂😂😂🔥 Today I also sprayed the plants with water mixed with a product that combines potassium soap and neem oil. I'm going to start transitioning them to organic, but with some very advantageous measures. On one hand, in about a month, I will have harvested my big crop, the one I currently have flowering, so I will take out the LED lamp that's currently in that 1.5x1.5 tent (720w, it would fry the cuttings, especially now in summer) and I'm going to put these same lights in to take the cuttings over there, as I said, when I harvest the current crop. On one hand, I'm going to gain space for the cuttings and they will be able to grow nicely, on the other hand, there won't be a shoebox effect when the heat gets even more intense and the small tent would cook them, and on the other hand, I can transplant them into 7-liter pots where I'll be doing apical after apical, but here the important thing is that I will start making the supersoil at the transplant. Right now, I'm using enzymes to break down the dead roots and such, and I'm going to give just the right and necessary fertilization, so that when I transplant, I can mix with a light mix soil the Micro Boom product (colonizing bacteria and fungi) and worm humus to provide nitrogen. From there on, I'll transplant to 20L pots where I will set up the complete supersoil and then I'll put back the powerful LED light and soon they'll be flowering (all of this around September/October).

Chrisandweed Bueno, pues ya dos esquejes se los di a un colega para que se los ponga en exterior, ya me pasará alguna fotillo y la enseñaré por aquí de cara a septiembre que floren y tal, le lleve un esqueje de la Pakistan Valley, y otro de la Kritical GB, que es una selección de la Bilbo. En sí, lo que me queda es una Pakistan Valley Early Version (la grandota del fondo); una Kritical GB (la grandota de la izquierda); una Critical normal (la que esta en el centro); y en 1L a la derecha una de las macho de Hash Plant, y ya los 4 vasitos con machos de la Hash Plant, divididos entre "grande" y "peque" ya que puse un par de semillas y al principio una salio atrofiadilla y quedó pequeña (al principio, porque luego adelantó a todas xD) y a esa la distinguí de la otra semilla como "peque" y ya la que salio bien fue la "grande", así tengo las dos y aunque ni se acerque a un pheno hunting (ni me voy a acercar, no soy fan de ponerme 100 semillas a la vez) pues algo de variedad tengo xD. He puesto a germinar 3 semillas a las cuales les sacaré esquejes este verano para en septiembre meterlas al cultivo. He puesto a germinar: -"Blue Zushi" de Grower Choice. -"Amnesia CBD" del banco GB Strains. -"Fantasy Melon" del banco GB Strains. Para germinarlas las he puesto en unos vasitos como se ve en la foto con agua y un par de gotitas de agua oxigenada, las tendré ahí hasta mañana y ya mañana las saco al tupper con la servilleta por arriba y por abajo pulverizada con agua, hasta que la raiz tenga entre 1 y 2 cm. Para la germinación uso agua osmotizada.

Chrisandweed Well, they're still going, the Paki, the Bilbo, and the Critical have made some curious growth. Of the 3 I put to germinate, the root of the Fantasy Melon got strangled and nothing, it died, what a shame because I was really looking forward to it and I only had one seed of it, but well, the other 2 are still in the propagator and they'll stay there for a while to keep them high in humidity. That said, I had to bring it quite close to the light because they were stretching, which is going to work in my favor because when I transplant them, I'll cover the whole long stem with soil to encourage the roots.

Chrisandweed Well, the Amnesia CBD and the Blue Zushi are already in 1L pots. I thought about putting them in a little plastic cup but, since my intention is to take cuttings from them, which won't be the ones that flower, I figured it's better in 1L so the branches have more room to take them. On another note, really, I keep saying what I said both in her diary and in this one, the Pakistan Valley I have is a golden goose! Look at the size of that plant in the back! In 1L! In a month, when I have the big cabinet empty and clean, I'm going to put her in 7L of organic soil and cover about 7 cm of the stem she has to encourage even more roots! It's really crazy, I hope to do well in that grow since it will be the first time I do supersoil, because if it goes well, I think I'm going to get the best buds of my growing history. Plus, that flowering will kick off around the end of September, after a little vacation trip, so the cool weather will hit her during her late flowering phase, which is wonderful for the resin and later for drying.

Chrisandweed Come on, this time I'm posting photos of the plants individually. As I said, as the blue zushi grows and I can take cuttings, I'll take cuttings from all of them to keep it even, and I'll start preparing the soil for the next grow with supersoil.

Chrisandweed Well, here they go. I've started to train them with some LST clips to slow down vertical growth, although I'm not too worried since in a month at most, I'll be busy making apical cuts to take clones and prepare the new grow. The blue zushi, which is the one I'm interested in for now, is doing quite well and growing fast, while the Amnesia CBD is a bit slower, but I'm less concerned about that one, as it's not intended for this grow; it'll probably be for a later batch of CBDs.

Chrisandweed And today we took clones for the next grow. Let's see if we're lucky and the conditions give us a bit of a break so I can get the 4 clones ready to grow at the same time and start the new ORGANIC GROW IN SUPERSOIL! Even though I also have "Amnesia CBD" and "Hash Plant" (males) in the greenhouse, I haven't taken cuttings from them yet (I had 2 phenotypes of the hash plant, one bigger and one smaller; back in the day, I took a cutting from each + a little mother if I remember correctly, the small hp). From the others, I did: "Blue Zushi" from Grower Choice; "Kritical GB" and "Critical," both from GB Strains; and "Pakistan Valley Early Harvest" from World of Seeds.

Chrisandweed I've already put one of the 4 cuttings I was preparing for the next grow, the Kritical GB (selected Bilbo), which was the first to root.

Chrisandweed Well, in this update (I CLARIFY THAT THE FOLLOW-UP OF THIS DIARY IS NOT STRICTLY WEEKLY since the intention of this diary is to show how I take care of mothers and cuttings), I already have the cuttings and mother ready that I will put in the next grow, for which I will be preparing their corresponding diaries. In the end, the blue zushi, I don't know if I overwatered the root riot or if something with some wooden sticks I put in to act as supports messed it up, the stem was brown, wilted, and the leaves were very wilted for several days in a row, so I threw that cutting away, and to avoid exposing the other two I had left in the same propagator to possible bad mold spores, I have already taken them out and transplanted them to the 1L pot. For that reason, the blue zushi I will use will be the mother (which doesn’t mean I won’t take cuttings from the mother and keep them, but as it grows) and the cuttings from the Pakistan Valley and the Critical, when I lifted them from the stem, the root riot was rising so they have rooted, although the roots still didn't protrude from that substrate block, but oh well. I took off the little bottle covering the Kritical GB (Bilbo) today for humidity purposes and I will monitor it throughout the day to see how it does, if it can stay like this or not. Then, I threw away the main mother of the Hash Plant since I was missing a 1L pot and since I have two well-rooted cuttings already in white cups of the hash plant, well, off they go, plus that one is a male, so I only had it to make seeds in the future.
