First step I took was to germinate the 3 seeds of crown royal. This was done by putting them into a clear cup of distilled water for 20 hrs then transferred over to the wet paper towel method. Within 3 days I had a good solid tap root from all 3 and were then put into a soil mixture of 2 cups potting soil, 2 cup of worm casting and 1 cup perlite with 1 scoop of start by reeferitlizer. With a spary of distilled water. Day 1- no signs of a seedling. Day 2- we have lift off! Day 3 - you can see there how I have the ladies in a solo cup with proper drainage at the bottom and using the sandwich bag humidity some trick. Day 4- the lil girls are growing along. Day 5- color is nice leaves look right sitting at a high of just shy 2" Day 6- took fresh pictures, a little spray of distilled water. With a fresh reading of 25.5 day temp and a humidity of 81 I'm wondering if that's to much for them. As I've read alot from books, forums and articles could my humidity be a little to high here?

Any input? During the last week of growth I've step up the light game, getting the humidity in check and temperature also. As you can see from the pictures they have really taken of since getting them more light and a consistent temp, humidity seems to have really helped big time! They gals have a slight tip burn but made sure it didn't get worse during the last week. Unsure if it's due to the addition to the nutrients at the start when making my own soil mixture or light was a little to close. My set up is a closet but it's just for the first 3 weeks tell they can be moved outside. Also on day 13 I transplanted them into 1 gal fabric pots. Hope they didn't get to stressed up but I followed a step.by step procedure to do it bit time will tell. I'm happy with how they are going and cannot wait to get them outside so I can learn more as outside growing has it's own hurdles to cross. My next diary will be of a new grow tent setup with 2 strains!

The last week has been very good. The ladies didn't suffer any significant stress when they were transplanted into 1 gal fabric pots. The weather hasn't been ideal for growing outdoors here in Ontario so I unpacked a light that's for my new grow tent setup. They are loving it! Are these ladies at a good height to start LST now? I will be giving them their first low does of nutrients also this week and see how they respond.

So the last week.has been decent they have been inside and outside as the weather has been hit and miss but it looks like it will.start to cooperate finally! The ladies are on a good watering, and feeding schedule now. This week they were transplanted to their final home, I topped them, started their LST and gave them their medium feeding so we shall see how they go from here. If anyone had some advice or comments please dont hesitate to give some as I'm a new grower and love to learn from experienced growers! Thanks and stay tuned

This last 7 days has been very well for the plants. They have been able to be outside almost the entire week minus a day due to alot of rain so they were moved on. During this time period they have gotten a regular watering as it's been warm here in my region. There hasn't been any issues with animals or bugs but let's not jinx it as they still have alot of growing to do before harvest. I decided to only take 2 sets of pictures to really show the difference a week can make with a feeding aswell. 2/3 plants are being LST while the other isn't because I wanted to see the difference in yields :) as I personal experience lol. Each day before the sun goes down I bend them some, and check to make sure they are healthy. All leaves are nice in colour a small dank smell.is happening yay! So fingers crossed all.goes.well tell Sept! If anyone has some advice please dont hesitate to.comment:) This week

I'm just wondering if my plants are healthy, and if there is anything else I should be doing. I am new been doing alot of research, reading, following others. They weather has been hot lately around 33 degrees during the day and around 17-19 at night. Will that affect them alot?

Your plants are looking good and some LST is fine. I think the weather is fine, it is not excessively hot. I would not worry about it. Just watch them closely and the normal water and nutrients. Happy growing!

Over the last 7 days the weather has been pretty wicked with a temp of around 32 Celsius, and a night time of 17-19 Celsius. Each day before the sun goes down i do some LST, check under the leafs, and the top for anything so far just a little bit of bug nibbling but nothing major. I will be adding some basil, chives, and mint around the gals to help with the bug repellent! I.dont have issues with creatures as my dog polices the yard well lol. The gals have really grown over the week about 1/2" to 3/4" and really fiing out as you can so. On day 45 I did a little pruning nothing crazy, and right after a feeding. They look healthy, happy, and the smell is wild! Thanks.for. stopping by!

The last week there has been a few hiccups. I over watered the gal a bit so the branches were drooping, a few days of almost 40 degrees so some heat stress didn't help but they still grew close to 5" though!! They have really filled out after I gave them a small pruning on day 44, and with the few hiccups they have come back healthy. I.e to.much water so let them dry out, and cut my it in half the volume which seems to be working better. I used a magnifying glass app to see when I'll get some signs of flower they are obviously not there yet but for a free app awesome pics. Pretty happy with how they are growing, no issues with bugs or critters. I'm using a few herbs as a natural bug repellent which seems to be working but have a neem oil spray bottle ready incase. Thanks for stopping by and looking. Happy growing!

So I'm not really sure what has happened to my 3 ladies but I cant tell if there are dead, overwatered or under watered!!!! On sunday they were thriving. They needed a feeding and some water so I did just that as I did the lift the pot test and up to the first knuckle check all.signs pointed to yup thirsty/hungry. So I gave them a feeding at 500ml and had no run off because last time I did that they became overwatered. So 500ml for a 5gal pot. The next day seemed ok but by sundown the leaves were drooping so I'm like how did I over water them again wtf. Yes ph level after I mixed my feed solution with water sat at 6.6. My ph pen is good because I do a recalibration everyb3-4 weeks. I'm at a loss now as this is where they side on day 65. I'm kinda upset at myself because I've read lots of blogs, my books a few times and asked others questions. No root rot, no animal urine, no pest or anything. So I'm.at a point where I think they wont come back 😪 Does anyone have some insight on what is happening to them please!?!

This week overall has been a good week not to much growth due to me making some mistakes I.e to much or not enough water also believe that they may have had an abundance of nitrogen in then also. To correct my mistake I did not feed them, I gave moderate water every other day instead of a huge drink every few days. I flushed them with PH 6.5 water, and also moved them into a light shady spot instead of direct light. By doing all the above they have recovered well, not much growth but they are back, and looking good. I did some pruning when they looked good, and strong. Which they took very well and are filling out again! This is my first grow, and I'm learning alot but my biggest thing is remembering I'm a newbie, and these are common mistakes for every new grower. Thanks for stopping by, sorry for not having a before shot but go back to last week and you will see the difference. Just been crazy busy but making sure they are well taken care of. Thanks for you help also everyone, and happy growing!

Well the 3 ladies over the last week have grown a few inches. They are drinking alot, also started to flower which I'm excited about but wish I could have gotten a few more weeks of growth but I also started late. Seeing as the are now showing signs of flowers it's time to switch over to a weak dose of nutrients and increase each week. I've learnt so much, and now to really pay close attention as this stage of growing as its very easy to miss the window of harvesting nice potent bud. Also bud rot, and other things can happen which will destroy a plants harvest.

Well over the last 7 days these ladies have just been filling out, drinking up the fluids. The weather has been very good not to hot the last two weeks but it's also August and feel of fall is creeping in at night. The hairs are showing so I've give them their first feeding last week quarter strength and fed them half strength this week which they seem to be enjoying. Did alittle pruning on the lower fab leaves as they were needing to go also some covering bud sites where taken out. Cannot wait to see them grow, and change over the next week some more. Thanks for stopping by and happy growing!

Sorry I haven't posted any progress in the last few weeks been battle some internal demons which alot I'm sure can relate and understand. However I've still taking care of the three girls and they are coming along very nicely on the flowering side. Weather has been dropping below double digits at night so having to move them indoors so the cold doesn't stress them out. Pictures inside are most recent as of 4 Sept 2019. Still got lots of time before harvest so hopefully no setbacks. If anyone has any input again leave it here and will be much appreciated thanks.

Over the last two weeks the flowering sites have grown, gotten dense, and frosty. They are eating up their feeding, and crushing alot of water every other day around 2L. The trichomes are all still milky white at the moment. Once I see the first signs of amber I'll be flushing them for 1-2 weeks. I'm looking for 25%amber, 75%milky white as I've read alot on this seems to be a good indication that's its harvest time and quick time to chop lol. Really happy at how they have survived the whole outdoor season with me only making some newbie mistakes. So I'm very grateful but still a nervous time as bud rought can set it and spread fast so I'm constantly checking them but fingers crossed! Happy growing and harvesting to all my fellow outdoor growers thisnyr!

The weather here in Ontario has been pretty decent latley as the temperature have gotten up to the 27-28 during the day, and around 13 at night. I'm hoping this can carry on a little longer. Been very diligent on moving the plants inside the house or the garage to keep them from the dew, cold nights, or anything else that can jeopardize the buds as I dont want bud rut this late in the game no thanks. The plants are not growing but the buds are growing fattier, more dense, and the smell is a sweet citrusy pleasing aroma that has had a few people ask about the strain lol I.e the puraltor man! They have started showing signs of some of the trichomoes having amber so going to just feed the straight PH water to flush them as I believe ivs got a few weeks left. Thanks for stopping by on my first outdoor grow ever!

@Jayzz77, Hey Jay thanks for the heads up. I'm lucky as I put them into the garage at night so that doesnt happen or inside if it drops to cold. However mold could happen another way though so I'm being mindful each day checking them very closely. Hope you were able to save your plant before the mild spread! I'm looking forward to the harvest, thencure and the end product also. Thanks and good luck to you also fellow Ontario, Canadian grower👊👊🤙🤙

@CanuckVetGrwr, thanks man never thought of supporting the branches during bud growth. All the pictures I have seen later in flowering I don't see anyone supporting their branches

@Kostecs, Thanks boss. It's also my first grow. As a reply to how long your gals have I'm not really sure. If I was to guess another 2-4 weeks but not sure. They look wicked and healthy you may need to support the branches as the buds get heavier thou.

To me they look nice and green , but the medium looks dry. For my garden 500ml in a dry 5 gal pot is not enough. I am in 3 gal fabric pots and water at least 3-4 liters per watering. I’d say you need to water at least 2 liters slowly and allow it to soak in thoroughly. Hopefully that works for you. Good luck
CanuckVetGrwr
CanuckVetGrwrcommented6 years ago
@SAC87, Thanks alot for you insight onto this. I've got them back to drinking a good 1.3 liter of water as I added more medium, and they are back on the growing but it's been hot near 40 celcius here the last few days so they are in shade of awning on my house as it's to much in the direct sunlight but seem to be doing well there. Wish I could put the..into direct light to help them grow more.

How does the soil feel like? Does it feel moist or dry? Maybe a combination of too hot and overwatering or underwatering. Put a finger down the soil and check? Hope they recover anyhow good luck

@SmallTownGrower, They seemed to have been dry so I gave them a small drink and now seem to be lifting back up so I'm going to start small amounts of watering tell I see improvements and back to where they were. Also sitting in the shade seems to be helping damn heat here doesn't help. Thanks for your help thou much appreciated
SmallTownGrower
SmallTownGrowercommented6 years ago
@CanuckVetGrwr, Alright, if I would make a guess. Underwatering + perhaps too much heat. I would have put a finger down in the soil and see how it feels like. Maybe put a Soil moisture sensor down the soil to monitor now and for later on. Not sure tbh, I'm def not a professional grower and hopefully someone more experienced can give a better answer.

I noticed that your plans are in the fabric pots that is great for not over-watering but your plans seem to be having the other side of the problem that is under watering because of that you should start watering a lot more and don't worry about over-watering because those pots are special for that. Have a happy grow
CanuckVetGrwr
CanuckVetGrwrcommented6 years ago
@Canadian, Very much appreciated for you taking to comment, and give your advice. I've been watering alot more by increasing the amount of water to find that sweet spot. They have bounced back, did some pruning which has not affected them really as they seem to be flourishing big time. Its.my first grow which I started late and maybe I wont get 4-5 plants this year but it's been an amazing learning experience which I have been using to start my indoor bounty now also. Thanks and happy growing to you also!
