SOIL PH WAS 5.8 AT TIME OF TOPDRESSING.
I BUMPED UP THE WATERS PH TO BRING THE SOIL PH UP TO 6.35 (FOR THE MOMENT)
I WONDER IF MY LIVING SOIL GROW MEDIA REQUIRES A LOWER PH?
GROW MEDIA MIX ...
40% PROMIX
20% HAPPY FROG
20% WORM CASTINGS
10% PERLITE
10% WORM CASTINGS
STARTED PREFLOWER AROUND DAY 22, BUT IM CALLING THIS A VEG WEEK

Well … this grow has become a salvage operation. Every day the past week I have considered pulling up the plant, mixing a new pot of soil and planting new seeds.
However, I do not know why it got so stunted. So, I have decided to make this a learning situation.
The base mix ( 5 gallon of mix ) for the first grow was:
40% promix
20% Happy Frog
20% Worm Castings
10% rice hulls
10% perlite
5 tbsp Gaja Green All Purpose
5 tbsp Gaja Green Power Bloom
1 tbsp kelp meal
1 tbsp Glacial Rock Dust
topdressed with 5tbsp All Purpose & 5 tbsp Power Bloom on day 28
topdressed with 3 tbsp All Purpose & 7 tbsp Power Bloom on day 49
topdressed with 5 tbsp power bloom on day 70
The first grow went good.
The second grow ( with the same added amendments as first grow) had small plants and about ½ the bud weight as the first grow.
This last grow is severely stunted. Why this is , I do not entirely know.
The plants do seem to have way too much nitrogen. And I may have watered too much.
Also, I tried to increase the ppfd a bit hoping it might produce a larger plant by flower time.
It did not.
I believe that over the course of the three grows in the same soil I have too much nitrogen, and other minerals, in the soil. As everything else has remained the same as the first grow.
Today … my plan is to try to grow them all out as well as I can. The next grow I plan to dump ½ the soil out after each grow and replace with new mix. And add ½ as much Gaja Green as I have been.
So … any thoughts and comments are certainly appreciated.

Well … day 42 and the salvage operation continues.
To recap … I tried to push them a little harder this grow, and it failed miserably.
I underestimated the amount of nitrogen that was left in the soil prior to re-amending. So I added way too much VEG & FLO formula dry amendments.
I re-amended the soil on day 28 with 5 tbsp VEG and 5 tbsp FLO formulas. It started with slow growth, dark green, shiny leaves , obvious nitrogen toxicity I thought.
Upon realizing this, I tried to flush out some of the nitrogen … didn't work, only waterlogged my soil.
So now I had too much nitrogen and too much water. And I pushed the light too hard in the early days hoping for a bit larger plant … didn't work either, just stunted the plant.
I haven't watered it at all this week, it appears to be coming around slightly, but extremely slowly. The pot still feels heavy from the water.
My goal at this point is to try to get some smoke-able bud, however much that may be, its gonna be small.
But it was a valuable lesson learned.
Hopefully, documenting my my disaster will be of some use to others.

Well here we are on day 49 of the salvage operation.
I gave the plant 32 ounces of a flower formula nutrient tea today (no nitrogen) soil ph was at 5.8, I adjusted the tea to 6.3ph.
Harvest will be slight, but as this will be the last plants I grow till november I have tried to get the most out of them as best that I know how.
My take-away from this experiment is … “less is more”
