S4nchi Another variety I really wanted to try out, and not just because of its cute name :D First, I really like some uplifting sativa energy and I'm a fan of dark coffee/chocolate terps. I had the pleasure and opportunity to try Chocolope many many years ago in a coffeeshop in Amsterdam. The aroma, taste and effect were beyond anything else, like riding the "dark-but-happyโ€ wave. With the automatic version, I hope to revive these sweet memories. Let's see what this oldschool Thai/Haze-derived genetic is up to, shall we? Seeds were soaked in tap water overnight, then transferred to peat pellets. They germinated just after 4 days which is pretty quick. Upon reaching 5 cm, they were transplanted into the final pots of 11 liters recycled tomato soil and set outside.

S4nchi This week was rather cold, wet and grey. However, the coco loco girl managed to grow a bit. To enhance root growth, she was fed with diluted aloe juice. I also added nematodes to the soil to keep bad stuff away. The upcoming days will get sunnier and warmer, let's see how they develop.

S4nchi Yo frens, the coco loco coco popo girl is doing pretty well and got switched from top watering to wick bottom watering. Just in time for the massive heat wave which has been predicted for the upcoming days. It makes watering so much easier. Like in basically each of my grows, the soil was covered with douglas pine mulch about an inch thick. It helps to reduce water consumption and to prevent the precious micro-life from getting toasted. And it smells nice.

S4nchi The choco coco popo loco girl loves the sun and the intense heat we got this week. She doubled her size and girth and is well on track. I'm super curious which way the aroma will take. The chocolate one or the cantaloupe one? Only time will tell. For now, I'm super happy with the development. Go girl!

S4nchi The Coco Loco girl is doing very nicely, displaying her Chocolope ancestry to the fullest. Large internodial distances, very thin leaves and an incredible vigor to reach for the sky. This being the flower stretch, she has managed once again to double her height. Now standing at 85 cm tall, she's looking down on her hybrid sisters like a true diva.

S4nchi The Coco Choco Popo Loco has kinda finished her flower stretch, now measuring 105 cm. She proudly towers over the other plants like a true queen. It's such a pleasure to see this sativa lady in bloom. With her favourable leaf:flower ratio, trimming is going to be a breeze. Not there yet though. No significant smell yet, either.

S4nchi Tbh, the Coco Popo should be re-labeled as Coco PomPom. Like a happy cheerleading girl, sheโ€™s covered with buds from bottom to top, waving them around and showing them off like cotton balls. Some smell is already there but I canโ€™t really tell what it is yet. Definitely a pleasant one. Come on, Choco Loco PomPom girl, vamos a rumbar!

S4nchi The Coco Choco Popo Lopo girl is doing nicely. Buds are getting fatter each day. Stemrubbing reveals some fresh terpenes are cooking, a mix of freshness and something dark, maybe it's the chocolate is already shining through. Not bad at all.

S4nchi Coco Popo the Choco Lopo puts on an absolutely dazzling show and owns the stage from start to finish. Buds are fattening up nicely. Her scent lingers on the balcony like a true showgirl: alluring, elegant, and impossible to ignore. About two more weeks until the final curtain falls I guess XD

S4nchi Coco Popo the Choco Lopo, this girl has been my shooting star in this season's autoflower zoo. Nice size, pleasant smell, tons of buds, and no issues whatsoever. As her final days are approaching, she was fed one last time with some guano tomato nutes and molasse.

S4nchi The Chocococo Popolopo girl met her final day and was chopped since all her trichomes turned out milky. For my sativas, that's the way I like it. Trimming wasn't too cumbersome since the bud/leaf ration was favourable and the buds were rather fat and and discrete. Almost no popcorn here. The yield turned out to be on the large side and not bad at all for an automatic plant. The hot and sunny summer helped a lot too I guess. After being trimmed wet, buds were placed in pizza boxes and put into the no-frost fridge for drying, lotus-style. It's my method of choice because it preserves most of the terpenes and guarantees a very smooth smoke. It takes 3-4 weeks though but it's worth it. The smell at harvest is fresh and lemony with something spicy in the background. We'll see how it develops in the upcoming weeks of drying and curing. I'm pretty curious if the taste will match that of the coffee-shop Chocolope of 20 years ago which was my initial motivation to try this strain.
