S4nchi Yo frens, since some of my other seedlings were snatched by birds (damn birds!) I had to improvise. Permanent Jealousy XL Auto came in as a replacement, some bonus seeds I had lying around. It's one of the newer varieties by Sweet Seeds and I'm super curious how they will turn out. Seeds were soaked in tap water for 18 hrs, then placed in Jiffy pots. They germinated just after 4 days, yay. They got transferred to the final pot (11 litres) of re-cycled tomato soil of last year, pimped up with some worm humus, horse manure pellets and vermiculite. Let's go!

S4nchi This week was rather cold, wet and grey. However, PermJ is doing quite nicely. To enhance root growth, planties were fed with diluted aloe juice. I also added nematodes to the soil to keep bad stuff away. The upcoming days will get sunnier and warmer, let's see how they develop.

S4nchi The PermJay is doing very nicely. In fact, she's the most vigourous among my current bunch of automatic weedlings. For a reason, because she's the only one that didn't suffer from the infamous bird attack. She got switched from top watering to wick bottom watering. Just in time for the massive heat wave which has been predicted for the upcoming days. It makes watering so much easier. Like in basically each of my grows, the soil was covered with douglas pine mulch about an inch thick. It helps to reduce water consumption and to prevent the precious micro-life from getting toasted. It also helps keeping bugs away. Not to mention the wonderful smell of a summer pine forest, of course.

Damn birds! Good luck with this one! I’ll follow this diary to see where it is going. Let’s hope no snails will come around 🐌 damn snails!

@MyBigFatSummerofGrow, Cheers mate, much appreciated. Now, snails is something I really don't expect. Plants are on a 4th floor balcony. Unless they learn to fly ugh.
