RootToRosin - English below - Woche 1 – Neuer Testgrow startet Willkommen zu einem neuen Durchgang! Dieser Grow ist etwas Besonderes, da er gleichzeitig als Testgrow für einen befreundeten Stecklingsshop dient. Ziel ist es, die Qualität, Vitalität, Wuchsstruktur und Gesamtperformance der Stecklinge unter praxisnahen Bedingungen vom Umtopfen bis zur Ernte zu dokumentieren. Mit dabei sind vier aktuelle Elite-Cuts: 🌱 Cap Junky (Capulator x Seed Junky) 🌱 MAC1 (Capulator) 🌱 Super Buff Cherry #26 🌱 Permanent Marker (Seed Junky - Doja Exclusives Cut) Die Pflanzen wurden in Plagron Blähton/Cocos Hydromix (60/40) gesetzt und wachsen unter einer Maxibright Daylight Pro 500W LED in einem 1x1 Meter Zelt. Bewässert wird über vier AutoPot OnePots (8,5 Liter), gedüngt wird mit der Athena Blended Line. In der Endblüte kommt zusätzlich Athena Fade zum Einsatz. Die Stecklinge befinden sich aktuell in der ersten Woche nach dem Einsetzen und haben sich bislang sehr gut etabliert. Alle vier Pflanzen zeigen aktives Neuwachstum, eine gute Vitalität sowie eine schnelle Anpassung an das neue System. Besonders erfreulich ist die gleichmäßige Entwicklung und die insgesamt saubere Pflanzenstruktur. Kleinere Unterschiede in Wuchsgeschwindigkeit und Aufbau sind bereits erkennbar und machen den Vergleich der einzelnen Genetiken besonders spannend. Aktuell präsentiert sich Cap Junky als die kräftigste und vitalste Pflanze im Bestand. Super Buff Cherry #26 überzeugt durch ihren kompakten und sehr gleichmäßigen Wuchs. MAC1 entwickelt sich typisch für diese Genetik etwas ruhiger, wirkt aber gesund und stabil. Permanent Marker ist derzeit die kleinste Pflanze, zeigt jedoch ebenfalls gesundes Wachstum und könnte im weiteren Verlauf noch deutlich aufholen. Das Hauptziel dieses Durchgangs ist nicht die Maximierung des Ertrags, sondern die Kultivierung von Pflanzen mit exzellenter Optik, starkem Harzbesatz und Blüten mit erstklassigem Bag Appeal. Die fertigen Pflanzen/Blütenstände sollen unter anderem für professionelle Produktfotos dokumentiert werden. Gleichzeitig bietet dieser Grow die Möglichkeit, die Qualität der Stecklinge unter identischen Bedingungen objektiv zu bewerten. Ich freue mich darauf, die Entwicklung dieser vier spannenden Cuts in den kommenden Wochen zu begleiten und die Unterschiede zwischen den Genetiken genauer herauszuarbeiten. Week 1 – New Test Grow Begins Welcome to a new run! This grow is a little different from my previous runs so far, as it also serves as a test grow for a friend's clone shop. The goal is to evaluate the health, vigor, structure and overall performance of the cuts under real-world conditions from transplant all the way through harvest. The lineup consists of Cap Junky (Capulator x Seed Junky), MAC1 (Capulator), Super Buff Cherry #26 (Grow More Fire Genetics) and the original Permanent Marker cut from Doja Exclusives. The clones were transplanted into Plagron Clay Pebble/Coco Hydromix (60/40) and are running under a Maxibright Daylight Pro 500W LED in a 1x1m tent with four 8.5L AutoPot OnePots. Nutrients will be Athena Blended Line with Fade later in flower. During the first days the clones have settled in nicely. All four plants show healthy new growth, good vigor and strong recovery after transplanting. The root systems appear to be establishing well and there are currently no major deficiencies or pest issues visible. Some light green new growth is present across all plants, which is expected at this stage due to active growth and recent root establishment. At the moment Cap Junky looks like the strongest and most vigorous plant, while Super Buff Cherry #26 is showing a very balanced and bushy structure. MAC1 is developing exactly as expected, with slightly slower but healthy growth, and Permanent Marker is currently the smallest plant but still appears healthy and stable. The objective for this run is not maximum yield but premium flower quality and high-end product photography. I will focus on producing healthy plants with excellent structure, resin production, bag appeal and overall visual quality. Looking forward to seeing how these elite cuts perform over the coming weeks.

RootToRosin Week 2 – Elite Clone Test Grow 2026 At the beginning of Week 2, all four cuttings show stable development and have adapted well to the new substrate. Currently, there are no significant stress symptoms, necroses, or relevant growth problems visible. However, the plants already differ significantly in growth form and structure. Cap Junky currently appears the strongest and shows the best combination of stem strength, leaf mass, and active growth. Permanent Marker grows the most vertically and already shows a clear stretch potential early on. MAC1 is developing a bit more calmly and openly, but appears stable and healthy. Super Buff Cherry #26 particularly impresses with its compact, bushy, and very uniform structure. The light distance has now been adjusted to 60cm to keep the growth more compact and to promote the side shoots more strongly. For now, no topping will be done, as several plants are already showing good branching on their own, and the focus is on a natural, high-quality flower structure.

RootToRosin Week 3 – Elite Clone Test Grow 2026 In week 3 after planting, this comparison grow officially enters the flowering phase. From week 3 day 1, the light cycle was switched to 12/12. At the same time, the AutoPot system was activated, so all four plants are now consistently supplied through the system. Currently, they are being fed with Athena Blended Bloom week 1, slightly reduced to an EC of 2.1. The pH level is at 5.8. The light is running at 376 W with approximately 60 cm distance. The current plant heights already show significant differences in growth behavior: Permanent Marker: 55 cm Cap Junky: 49 cm MAC1: 46 cm Super Buff Cherry #26: 40 cm Permanent Marker is currently the tallest plant in comparison and continues to show the strongest vertical growth. The plant looks healthy, eager to grow, and has clearly recognizable stretch potential for the coming days. Cap Junky continues to present itself as very robust and vital. It combines a stable main stem with good leaf mass and active side branches. Currently, it is one of the strongest and most balanced plants in the test. MAC1 is in the middle height range and is developing steadily. It remains a bit more open and sensitive in leaf structure but overall looks healthy and well-established. The later development of flower quality, resin production, and bag appeal will be particularly exciting here. Super Buff Cherry #26 is the most compact plant in comparison at 40 cm, but impresses with the most uniform and bushiest structure. Despite its shorter height, it shows many active side branches and provides very good conditions for a homogeneous flower distribution. Overall, all four cuttings have started healthy into the early flowering phase. The differences between the genetics are now becoming much more visible: Permanent Marker shows the greatest stretch potential, Cap Junky appears the strongest, MAC1 remains the exciting frost candidate, and Super Buff Cherry #26 impresses with its particularly uniform structure.

RootToRosin Flowering Week 2 – Elite Clone Test Grow 2026 The second week of flowering clearly shows how differently the four tested elite cuts are responding to the transition. All plants continue to run in the AutoPot system on Plagron clay pebble/Cocos Hydromix and are being fed with the Athena Blended Line. The pH level is at 5.8, and the Athena Bloom schedule has now been set to an EC of 2.3. The climate this week was around 25–26 °C and 65–70% relative humidity. The humidity is still within an acceptable range for early flowering but will be monitored closely as flowering progresses. Especially with plants becoming denser, good airflow is particularly important now. The current plant heights already show clear differences in stretch behavior: Permanent Marker: 72 cm MAC1: 60 cm Cap Junky: 59 cm Super Buff Cherry #26: 58 cm Permanent Marker clearly stands out this week as the most stretch-prone plant in comparison. It continues to grow vertically, has longer internodes, and shows an open structure with clearly recognizable height potential. The health status is good, but it will require the most attention regarding light distance in the coming weeks. MAC1 has visibly caught up in flowering week 2 and is nearly on par with Cap Junky and Super Buff Cherry #26 at 60 cm. The plant appears vigorous and is developing steadily, but still shows a slightly more sensitive leaf appearance with slightly curled leaf edges. Overall, it looks healthy and remains particularly exciting regarding later resin production and flower quality. Cap Junky continues to present itself as robust and vital. At 59 cm, it remains more compact than Permanent Marker but shows a stable structure, good leaf mass, and active flower sites. The stretch is moderate, and the plant appears controlled and well-suited for a quick, efficient run with a high-quality end product. Super Buff Cherry #26 stands at 58 cm, just below the other plants, but continues to impress with its particularly even and bushy structure. It shows many active shoot tips and a very nice natural branching. For a homogeneous flower distribution and later product photos, it currently looks very promising. Overall, the grow is progressing very positively in flowering week 2. All four plants are healthy, show active flower development, and respond well to the AutoPot system. The biggest differences are currently seen in stretch: Permanent Marker is clearly the tallest, while Super Buff Cherry #26 and Cap Junky are growing more controlled. MAC1 continues to develop steadily and could later become particularly interesting due to a high trichome count and bag appeal. The focus for the coming week will be on height control, airflow in the canopy, and preparing for targeted defoliation and lollipopping around day 21 of flowering. The goal remains a stable, clean run with high-quality flower quality and strong visual results for later product photos.

RootToRosin BW3 – Stretch and First Buds In flowering week 3, the differences between the four cuts become increasingly clear. While the Cap Junky remains compact, Super Buff Cherry #26, MAC1, and especially Permanent Marker are gaining height significantly. The AutoPot system is running smoothly with the Athena Blended Bloom Line. The nutrient solution starts at about EC 2.53 and pH 5.7. After three days, EC 2.59 and pH 6.0 are measured. Since the tank and trays show nearly identical values and the increase is minimal, no major adjustments are necessary. The climate is mostly at 25–26 °C and 65–70 % RH. The humidity is already a bit higher than desired, but due to the humid outside air, it can only be reduced to a limited extent. The light output is increased to 500 watts over the course of the week. Due to the strong stretch, the lamp must also be raised at the same time. Especially the Permanent Marker comes very close to the light, but so far shows no clear bleaching or heat damage. Heights at the time of measurement: Cap Junky: 67 cm Super Buff Cherry #26: 87 cm MAC1: 92 cm Permanent Marker: 105 cm The Permanent Marker shows the strongest stretch and develops long, open side branches. MAC1 is also growing vigorously but remains quite evenly structured. The Super Buff Cherry #26 has clearly caught up and is forming many well-distributed bud sites. The Cap Junky remains significantly more compact, has short internodes, is already investing more in bud development, and shows a slight sensitivity to nutrient uptake. All four plants now have clearly visible bud sites. The first resin formation is also increasing, especially in Cap Junky and Super Buff Cherry #26. Overall, the week is stable, without clear signs of deficiencies or relevant over-fertilization signs.

RootToRosin Flowering Week 4 - Clean-out The fourth week of flowering begins at BT22 with a thorough clean-out. Lower shoots, small popcorn buds, and excess leaf material are removed to improve light distribution and air circulation. After a brief reduction, the LED runs again at 500 watts. Feeding follows the Athena-Bloom schedule for week 4 at around EC 2.65 and pH 5.9. Height Development: Cap Junky: 67 to 73 cm MAC1: 92 to 101 cm Super Buff Cherry #26: 87 to 101 cm Permanent Marker: 105 to 126 cm The differences between the genetics are becoming increasingly clear: Cap Junky remains very compact and already shows a good resin development. The partially lighter new growth stands out, but the plant overall appears healthy. MAC1 is developing particularly evenly. The stretch is slowing down while the buds are becoming more compact. Individual slightly taco-shaped leaf edges continue to indicate increased light or transpiration pressure. Super Buff Cherry #26 is growing vigorously but remains well controllable. The canopy is even, and the buds are visibly gaining volume. Permanent Marker shows by far the strongest stretch of nearly 300%. The open, elongated structure brings the top shoots very close to the lamp. This significantly increases light and heat pressure, while the plant remains vital overall. All four plants are handling the clean-out well and are in a healthy state overall. Cap Junky stays small and compact, MAC1 is particularly balanced, Super Buff Cherry is vigorous and homogeneous, and Permanent Marker is extremely stretch-prone.

RootToRosin Flowering Week 5 - Stretch is over, Bulking phase begins In the fifth week of flowering, the stretch is largely completed for all four strains. The LED is still running at 500 watts, and the AutoPot system remains active. Feeding is done according to the Athena-Bloom schedule for week 5 at around EC 2.4 and pH 5.7. The climate is mostly at 26–27 °C and 60–63 % RH. Towards the end of the week, the values improve to about 25 °C and 55 % RH. Height development: Cap Junky: 75 cm MAC1: 101 cm Super Buff Cherry #26: 102 cm Permanent Marker: 125 cm Cap Junky remains by far the most compact and is increasingly investing in flower mass and resin production. The slightly lighter new growth remains visible but does not deteriorate. MAC1 continues to show a very even structure. The slightly taco-shaped leaf edges persist, while the flowers densify homogeneously and resin coverage increases. Super Buff Cherry #26 continues to develop straightforwardly and extremely balanced. The tops remain at a similar height, the flowers visibly gain volume, first more intense color tones become noticeable, and its typical sweet-spicy scent gradually fills the tent. Permanent Marker remains the tallest and most demanding strain. The small distance to the lamp is slowly causing some upper buds to develop light tips, but this cannot be further increased. In this run, training and early height control are deliberately omitted to assess the natural growth form and stretch behavior of each strain unadulterated. Depending on the final result, a second round with early height control may follow.
