Welcome to the first official entry for Pickle Lemon Haze F1 Pheno B.
Today we continue documenting the second phenotype of this exciting new F1 project growing inside the Zamnesia tent setup.
While her sister may have grabbed attention early with an impressive taproot and rapid emergence, Pheno B followed a slightly different approach.
Not slower.
Not weaker.
Simply different.
One of the most rewarding aspects of growing cannabis is learning that every seed has its own pace and personality.
And from the very beginning, this girl seemed perfectly comfortable doing things her own way.

## A New Project Begins
This diary is part of a completely separate project from my ongoing 12/12-from-seed garden.
For this run, the objective is very different.
Rather than flowering from day one, these plants are being given the opportunity to fully develop under a traditional vegetative schedule.
Current plans include:
- 18/6 light schedule
- Full vegetative development
- Potential Low Stress Training (LST)
- Potential topping
- Possible Scrog implementation
- Structural development observations
- Full seed-to-harvest documentation
At this stage, however, everything begins with a healthy germination.

## The Cannakan Germination Method
Like all the plants in this project, Pickle Lemon Haze F1 Pheno B began life inside the Cannakan germination system.
The process remains intentionally simple.
The seed was placed into the system using only plain water.
No nutrients.
No additives.
No stimulants.
Just water.
After approximately 24 hours of soaking, most of the water was removed while leaving enough moisture to maintain ideal germination conditions.
Before long, a healthy taproot appeared and the seed was ready for planting.
Perhaps not quite as dramatic as her sister's impressive root, but healthy, vigorous, and exactly what we hope to see.
Sometimes consistency is just as beautiful as speed.

## Why Only Water?
One question that often appears during germination is:
"Why not feed the seed immediately?"
The answer remains simple.
The seed already contains everything required for the earliest stage of life.
Inside that shell are all the energy reserves needed to establish roots and begin development.
At this stage, I prefer allowing the seed to use those natural reserves exactly as intended.
The objective is not to feed the plant.
The objective is simply to wake it up.
Water is enough.
Nature already prepared the rest.

## From Seed To Seedling
Once a healthy taproot emerged, Pheno B was transferred into Plagron Lightmix.
This substrate continues to be one of my preferred starting mediums due to its excellent aeration, forgiving nature, and reliable performance during early development.
The seed settled into its new home and quickly began establishing roots.
Before long, she emerged above the soil surface and began searching for light.
Healthy stem.
Healthy cotyledons.
Healthy color.
Everything exactly where it should be.
The start may have been slightly less dramatic than her sister's, but the destination remains exactly the same.
A strong foundation for the weeks ahead.

## Why Use A Humidity Dome?
During the first few days after emergence, the seedling spent time inside a humidity dome.
Young seedlings have only a limited root system and therefore limited access to water.
Maintaining slightly elevated humidity helps reduce moisture loss while roots continue developing beneath the surface.
The humidity dome is not intended to become a permanent environment.
It is simply a temporary support system during one of the most delicate phases of growth.
As roots develop, the dome is removed and the plant begins adapting to the environment it will experience throughout the remainder of its life.
The goal is adaptation.
Not dependence.

## Building The New Zamnesia Grow Tent Kit
This project is being grown entirely inside the new Zamnesia Grow Tent Kit.
One of the biggest surprises during setup was just how straightforward the assembly process turned out to be.
The entire system was assembled by one person.
Tent.
LED.
Carbon filter.
Inline fan.
Ducting.
Controller.
Cable management.
Everything.
Even with a few adjustments required due to space limitations, the entire setup was operational in less than an hour.
The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and the overall build quality immediately left a very positive impression.
The frame feels solid.
The materials feel durable.
And the system feels thoughtfully designed from the start.
Now the plants get to deliver the real review.

## Environmental Conditions
For this first week, lighting remained intentionally gentle.
Using a PAR meter, light intensity was measured at approximately:

Young seedlings simply do not require high light levels during this stage.
The objective is healthy establishment and strong root development rather than rapid vertical growth.
Environmental conditions remained stable throughout the week and the plant responded beautifully.
Healthy posture.
Healthy color.
Good development.
And no signs of stress.

## First Impressions Of Pickle Lemon Haze F1 Pheno B
Although her sister may have been the first to catch the eye, Pheno B has quietly built an excellent foundation of her own.
Healthy germination.
Healthy emergence.
Balanced development.
Strong color.
Good vigor.
And a calm, steady progression that inspires confidence moving forward.
I've learned over the years not to make too many predictions this early.
Plants have a wonderful habit of surprising us.
So rather than creating expectations, I prefer creating opportunities and allowing the plant to show us who she wants to become.
That approach rarely leads to disappointment.
Only discovery.

Week 1 Vegetation — Early Signs of a Front Runner
Hello growers,
Welcome back to another update from the Zamnesia Tent project.
As with the rest of this grow, each phenotype is being documented individually from seed to harvest. Even when plants share the same genetics and environment, subtle differences often begin appearing very early, and those differences can become some of the most interesting parts of the entire journey.
This week we are taking a closer look at Pickle Lemon Haze Pheno B, a seedling that has already started hinting that she may have slightly bigger ambitions than her sisters.
It is still extremely early, of course, but sometimes the first clues reveal themselves sooner than expected.

The Environment
Week 1 focused on creating a stable foundation for growth.
The Zamnesia ecosystem maintained steady conditions throughout the week, allowing the seedlings to establish themselves without unnecessary environmental fluctuations.
Conditions averaged:
* Temperature: 26°C
* Relative Humidity: 71%
Lighting was set to provide approximately 250 PPFD, a level chosen to encourage compact and healthy development from the very beginning.
The LED fixture operated at:
* 27% intensity
* Approximately 86 watts drawn from the wall
Air movement and environmental control were handled through:
* Zamnesia extraction fan running at Level 5
* Circulation fan running at Level 4
Together, these settings created a comfortable environment with gentle airflow and excellent air exchange.

Feeding Program
Although the earliest days were supported using collected rainwater, this week marked the introduction of the nutrient program.
The first feeding consisted of:
* Plagron Hydro A
* Plagron Hydro B
* Plagron Hydro Roots
Mixed to:
* EC: 1.53 mS/cm
* pH: 5.96
* Water temperature: 24.2°C
The objective remains simple: establish a healthy root system before entering the coco phase of the project.
So far, Pickle Lemon Haze Pheno B appears to be responding extremely well.

Preparing The Coco Transition
While the seedlings remain in their starter pots for now, preparations for next week’s transplant are already complete.
The Plagron Premium Grow Bags have been filled and hydrated using distilled water only.
Rather than soaking the coco all at once, a slow-release reservoir system is being used to gradually distribute moisture throughout the medium. This allows the compressed coco to expand evenly while maintaining consistent hydration from top to bottom.
By the time transplant day arrives, the medium should be fully conditioned and ready to support rapid root expansion.
This upcoming move into coco will be one of the first major milestones of the project.

Pickle Lemon Haze — Pheno B
While all four seedlings have had excellent starts, this phenotype is beginning to separate herself ever so slightly from the pack.
The difference is not dramatic.
It is not night and day.
But at this age, even small differences can be meaningful.
Compared to her sister, Pheno B is showing noticeably stronger early development. She appears slightly larger overall, has produced more leaf mass, and is already pushing aggressively toward her next set of growth.
While several of the other plants are entering their third set of true leaves, this phenotype already looks eager to begin working on the next chapter.
The internodal spacing remains extremely tight, which is exactly what we want to see under these conditions. Rather than stretching vertically, the plant is investing energy into building a dense, compact structure with broad, healthy foliage.
The leaves themselves are one of the standout features.
Large, symmetrical, and beautifully formed, they create an appearance that feels mature beyond the plant’s age. The structure already suggests a vigorous growth habit and excellent energy production potential moving forward.
Color remains healthy throughout the plant, with strong green pigmentation and vibrant new growth emerging from the center.
Most importantly, the plant simply looks comfortable.
Comfortable plants grow.
And this one looks very comfortable indeed.
Of course, Week 1 observations should always be taken with a grain of salt. Seedlings can surprise us many times throughout a run, and today’s front runner is not always tomorrow’s champion.
Still, if first impressions count for anything, Pickle Lemon Haze Pheno B has made a very strong one.

Looking Ahead
The upcoming transplant into coco should provide an excellent opportunity to see whether this early momentum continues.
With a significantly larger root zone becoming available and a fully established feeding program already in place, growth rates are expected to increase noticeably over the coming weeks.
If this phenotype maintains the pace she has shown so far, she may become one of the more interesting plants to follow within the Zamnesia Tent.
For now, however, patience remains the goal.
Strong roots first.
Everything else follows.

Pickled Lemon Haze F1 – Pheno B | Week 2 – Finding Her Rhythm
Every phenotype tells its own story.
Although both plants share the same genetics and are growing under identical conditions, nature always leaves its own signature. That is exactly why Project Blue Tent was created—to document each phenotype individually and discover the subtle differences that make every plant unique.
This project is built around consistency. Both phenotypes are grown inside the complete Zamnesia ecosystem, rooted in Plagron Premium Coco Grow Bags and fed exclusively with the Plagron Hydro line. Every environmental parameter, every feeding adjustment, and every observation is recorded so this diary becomes more than just a grow log—it becomes a learning experience.
This week marked one of the most important moments of early vegetative growth: transplant day. Thanks to the outstanding root development inside the starter pot, Pheno B was ready to move into her permanent home, where she can now fully explore the coco substrate and begin building the foundation for the weeks ahead.

🌱 Environment & Ecosystem
Everything inside the Blue Tent is designed to remain as stable and repeatable as possible.

These conditions provide excellent transpiration while encouraging vigorous vegetative growth and rapid root expansion throughout the coco.

🥥 Why the Starter Pot Is Buried Inside the Coco Bag
One detail that often surprises people in this project is that I don’t remove the starter pot area from the final grow bag.
Instead, I bury the entire root ball directly into the centre of the hydrated coco.
There are several reasons for this approach.
First, it completely eliminates transplant shock. The roots never need to recover from disturbance—they simply continue growing exactly as they were.
Second, the original root zone remains perfectly intact, allowing moisture levels to transition gradually into the fresh coco rather than forcing the plant to adapt overnight.
Finally, positioning the starter pot in the centre naturally creates a perfectly symmetrical root expansion. Instead of favoring one direction, the roots are encouraged to colonize the entire grow bag evenly, producing a balanced foundation for the remainder of the grow.
Sometimes the simplest techniques deliver the biggest long-term advantages.

🌿 Root Development
When removing the starter pot, the first thing that stood out was the incredible density of healthy white roots wrapping around the entire root ball.
Every side of the cube showed active growth.
The roots were bright white, thick, and evenly distributed, exactly what I hope to see before transplanting into the final container.
Healthy roots create healthy plants.
Strong roots improve nutrient uptake, increase resistance to environmental stress, and provide the engine that will support explosive vegetative growth over the coming weeks.
Looking at this root system, it’s clear Pheno B made excellent use of every cubic centimetre of her starter pot before graduating into her final home.

🌿 Meet Pheno B
While her sister impressed me with compact structure and balanced symmetry, Pheno B immediately revealed a different personality.
She has a little more stretch through the stem, creating slightly wider internodal spacing while still maintaining excellent structural strength.
Her leaves are broad, richly coloured, and beautifully layered around the main stem, giving her a vigorous, energetic appearance. The newest growth is bursting from the centre with exceptional colour and excellent leaf formation, showing that she has settled comfortably after transplant.
One detail that really caught my attention is her natural openness. Instead of stacking tightly, her branching already hints at a phenotype that may naturally create better airflow and light penetration as she matures.
Every day she seems to move with confidence, reaching upward while expanding outward at the same time.
It’s still far too early to know how she’ll express herself during flowering, but she’s already demonstrating a personality of her own—and that’s exactly why I love documenting individual phenotypes.

💧 Feeding Strategy
After transplant, I continued feeding with the Plagron Hydro line, allowing the young roots to immediately colonise the fresh coco surrounding the original root ball.
Current feed:
• Plagron Hydro A & B
• Plagron Hydro Roots
Maintaining a stable EC together with a properly adjusted pH ensures nutrients remain immediately available while encouraging continuous root expansion into the surrounding substrate.
Rather than pushing rapid top growth, the goal right now is to build an exceptionally healthy root system that will support vigorous development throughout the vegetative stage.

🔍 Looking Ahead
The transplant has gone exactly as planned, and Pheno B has already resumed active growth without showing any signs of stress.
Over the next week I’ll be watching closely as the roots continue to colonise the coco bag and the canopy begins to expand.
As her structure develops, I’ll also start evaluating her branching pattern and natural growth habits to see how this phenotype differs from her sister. Those small differences are often what make phenotype hunting so rewarding.
For now, she looks healthy, confident, and ready to show what she’s capable of.

Watching two sisters grow side by side under identical conditions is one of the most fascinating parts of this journey.
Same genetics.
Same environment.
Same feeding.
Yet each plant begins writing her own story.

The Second Sister Takes the Crown
Welcome back to the Project Blue Tent, my little experiment where every plant receives individual attention from seed to harvest.
For anyone joining the journey for the first time, this project follows multiple Zamnesia Genetics grown side-by-side inside the same environment. Every phenotype gets its own diary so we can truly appreciate how genetics express themselves under identical conditions.
This week certainly wasn’t boring.
A malfunction in the irrigation system flooded the entire tent, leaving every growbag sitting in far more water than intended. Thankfully, the problem was caught quickly, the system was repaired, and every bag was allowed to drain naturally. Thanks to the incredible aeration of Plagron Cocos Premium, the roots never complained, oxygen remained available, and the plants simply carried on growing as if nothing had happened.
If anything, this little accident became another reminder that good substrates forgive our mistakes.
And this beautiful Pickled Lemon Haze F1 was no exception.

Week 3 Development
She has been an absolute pleasure to watch.
Although sharing the same genetics as her sister, she’s already showing her own personality. Her structure became incredibly symmetrical during the week, producing thick internodes, broad leaves and, most importantly, exceptionally vigorous lower branching.
Sometimes a plant tells you exactly what she wants.
This one practically asked to be topped.
Instead of growing vertically with a single dominant apex, she was already investing heavily into her side branches, making this the perfect candidate to redirect her energy and begin building a much wider canopy.
Looking underneath the plant was enough to make the decision.
Healthy secondary shoots were already racing upward, ready to become future main colas.

Why I Chose to Top This Plant
Many growers see topping as simply cutting the tip off.
It is actually much more than that.
The main growing tip naturally produces auxins that suppress the lower branches through what’s known as apical dominance. By removing that single growing tip, the plant redistributes hormones and allows the side branches to take over.
Instead of one dominant leader…
…we create several.
Since this Pickled Lemon Haze already had such impressive lower development, topping should allow those branches to explode with growth over the coming weeks, producing a much flatter, more even canopy.
For indoor cultivation, that means:
• Better light distribution
• More productive flowering sites
• Stronger structural balance
• Easier canopy management
Of course, topping is a high-stress technique, so timing matters.
I only perform it when the plant is completely healthy, actively growing, and has enough established nodes to recover immediately.
Judging by her response only days later, she barely noticed the haircut.

A Tiny Surgery
Using the Zamnesia trimming scissors, I carefully removed the apical shoot just above the selected node.
One of my favorite macro photographs this week captures the fresh cut perfectly.
Looking through the lens, it almost resembles a tiny green well filled with crystal-clear sap. It is fascinating how much beauty exists in details we rarely notice with the naked eye.
Nature never disappoints.
The removed growing tip itself was almost too pretty to throw away.
Sometimes I think photographers become sentimental about the strangest things.

Recovery
Recovery has been outstanding.
Within a very short time the remaining growth tips had already begun pointing upward, clearly responding to the hormonal redistribution.
There is no sign of stress, drooping or stalled development.
The stem continues thickening nicely, while the side branches seem eager to compete for dominance.
Exactly what I hoped to achieve.

The entire tent continues sharing the exact same environmental conditions.

Everything remains stable, giving the plants every opportunity to recover from both the flooding incident and the topping session without unnecessary stress.

Feeding
As the plants continue accelerating their vegetative growth, I increased nutrition slightly.
Current feeding per litre:
• Plagron Hydro A — 1.6 ml/L
• Plagron Hydro B — 1.6 ml/L
• Plagron Hydro Roots — 1 ml/L
• pH adjusted to 5.8
The slight increase in EC is already being rewarded with faster growth and richer colour throughout the canopy.
The new growth remains bright lime green—a perfectly normal characteristic of rapidly dividing young tissue—while the older leaves continue holding a healthy medium green without burnt tips or nutrient deficiencies.
Everything points toward a happy, hungry plant.

Looking Ahead
Now comes the fun part.
Over the next several days I’ll simply let nature do its work.
The goal is to allow the two new dominant tops to establish themselves while the lower branches continue stretching upward.
Once the canopy begins filling evenly, gentle LST will likely follow to keep every future flowering site exposed to as much light as possible.
She has all the ingredients to become a beautifully balanced bush.

🌱 Week Four – Trusting the Process
Last week was an exciting one for this beautiful lady.
After showing excellent structure and vigorous lower branching, she received her very first topping, redirecting her energy away from a single dominant leader and encouraging a wider, more balanced canopy.
This week, however, wasn't about making more cuts or introducing new training techniques.
Instead, it was about stepping back.
After putting a plant through any high-stress training, I always like to give her time to recover naturally before asking anything else of her. Healthy plants often know exactly what to do when we simply provide the right environment and stay out of their way.
Plant B proved that once again.
Rather than slowing down, she responded with impressive vigour, pushing both new leaders upward while the surrounding side branches continued filling out beautifully.
Sometimes the best training technique is simply patience.

Consistency remains one of the biggest goals inside Project Blue Tent.
Stable environmental conditions allow the plants to recover quickly while maintaining uninterrupted vegetative growth.

The combination of stable temperatures, proper irrigation, and the even light distribution from the Phytonaut LED continues creating an ideal environment for vigorous vegetative growth.

🥥 Feeding Adjustments
Over the last couple of weeks, all four plants developed a slightly lighter shade of green.
Since every plant displayed the same colour while remaining healthy and growing vigorously, it became clear that they weren't struggling—they were simply asking for a little more food as their metabolism accelerated.
Rather than waiting for deficiencies to develop, I responded by increasing the base nutrients slightly.
Current feeding now consists of:
• Plagron Hydro A — 1.8 ml/L
• Plagron Hydro B — 1.8 ml/L
• Plagron Hydro Roots — 1 ml/L
By the end of the week, the results were already becoming visible. The newest growth across the room is gradually deepening in colour while maintaining the vigorous pace of development that has characterised this project from the beginning.
It's always satisfying when small adjustments produce exactly the response you were hoping for.

🌿 Pickle Lemon Haze F1 – Plant B
Plant B continues proving why every phenotype deserves its own diary.
Although she shares the same genetics as her sister, she's expressing herself in her own unique way.
Her recovery after topping has been incredibly smooth, and the two new dominant tops have quickly established themselves. Around them, the secondary branches are climbing confidently, creating a naturally balanced and increasingly bushy structure.
One of the things I enjoy most about this phenotype is how symmetrical she has become. Looking down from above, it's easy to see the canopy beginning to spread evenly in every direction, giving her the kind of architecture that should work beautifully once future training begins.
Her stem continues thickening nicely, the internodal spacing remains compact, and the leaves stay upright throughout the day, showing no signs of stress following last week's topping.
The lighter green colour that was present earlier is already beginning to improve following the feeding adjustment, while the constant production of fresh growth leaves no doubt that she's thriving.
Healthy plants have a way of speaking without words.
This one certainly looks happy.

🔍 Looking Ahead
With the topping now fully behind her, the next stage will simply be allowing this beautiful framework to continue developing.
The goal is to let both new leaders strengthen naturally while encouraging the lower branches to catch up, creating the even canopy that will later make training and flowering far more efficient.
For now, there is no need to rush.
She's building exactly the kind of foundation I was hoping for, and sometimes letting the plant dictate the pace is the smartest decision a grower can make.
Every day she becomes a little fuller, a little stronger, and a little more interesting.

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another chapter of Project Blue Tent! 💙🌱
For anyone discovering this diary for the first time, Project Blue Tent follows four individual Pickle Lemon Haze F1 plants, each grown under exactly the same environmental conditions while being documented separately from seed to harvest.
Although every plant shares the same genetics, each one develops its own personality, growth habits and structure. By giving every phenotype its own diary, we get to appreciate those subtle differences while learning how each plant responds throughout the entire grow.
Today we're checking in on Pickle Lemon Haze F1 – Plant B.

🌱 Week Five – Filling Every Corner
This week has been all about controlled expansion.
After recovering beautifully from last week's topping, Plant B has exploded with vigorous new growth. Rather than stretching excessively, she's focused her energy on producing an incredible number of side branches, creating one of the bushiest structures inside the tent.
With so many healthy shoots developing, it was the perfect moment to begin introducing the SCROG net.
For anyone unfamiliar with the technique, SCROG stands for Screen of Green. Instead of allowing the plant to grow vertically, each branch is gently guided underneath a horizontal net, encouraging it to spread across the available space.
The objective isn't simply to make the plant wider.
By opening the canopy, every future flowering site receives better light penetration and improved airflow, while creating a much more even surface for flowering later on. Rather than producing one dominant cola, the plant is encouraged to develop many equally productive tops.
This week we spent some time gently bending and positioning branches beneath the screen, allowing Plant B to begin claiming her share of the canopy.
She handled it like an absolute champion.

Maintaining consistency continues to be one of the main goals inside Project Blue Tent.

Despite the slightly warmer daytime temperatures this week, the plants have continued growing vigorously, showing excellent transpiration and healthy development throughout the room.

🥥 Feeding Strategy
As the plants continue increasing their growth rate, their nutritional demands naturally increase alongside them.
A couple of weeks ago all four phenotypes began displaying a slightly lighter shade of green. Since every plant responded the same way while maintaining vigorous growth, it was clear they simply wanted a little more food rather than showing signs of stress.
The feeding schedule was adjusted accordingly and continues producing exactly the response I was hoping for.
Current feeding consists of:
• Plagron Hydro A — 1.9 ml/L
• Plagron Hydro B — 1.9 ml/L
• Plagron Hydro Roots — 1 ml/L
The newest growth is gradually deepening back into a richer green while maintaining excellent growth speed and healthy leaf development.
Sometimes the smallest adjustments make the biggest difference.

🌿 Pickle Lemon Haze F1 – Plant B
Every week this phenotype becomes more interesting.
While her sister shows slightly more vertical ambition, Plant B has decided to become an absolute bush.
The recovery after topping has been outstanding. Both new main leaders have established themselves perfectly while countless secondary branches continue racing upward, creating an incredibly dense canopy filled with future flowering sites.
After introducing the SCROG net this week, it quickly became obvious just how much lateral growth she's capable of producing. Every branch seemed eager to occupy its own space, making the training process surprisingly enjoyable.
One characteristic that really stands out is her natural symmetry. Even after being bent in multiple directions, she continues producing an impressively balanced framework with very even spacing between developing tops.
Her stems continue thickening nicely, internodal spacing remains compact, and leaf posture stays upright throughout the day, clear signs that she's handling every bit of training without complaint.
She's lush, healthy, vigorous, and showing exactly the kind of structure I love seeing before flowering.
Looking at her now, it's hard to believe she was topped only a short time ago.

🌿 Looking Ahead
As both Pickle Lemon Haze sisters continue filling the tent, canopy management is becoming increasingly important.
These two ladies are definitely going to compete for space over the coming weeks, and that's exactly the kind of problem every grower enjoys having.
The next step will simply be continuing to weave branches through the SCROG net while allowing every future top to find its own place in the canopy.
A light selective defoliation may also become necessary soon. Not because the plant needs correcting, but simply to improve airflow and allow more light to reach the rapidly developing interior branches hidden beneath this beautiful sea of leaves.
For now, though, she's doing exactly what I hoped she would.
Growing wider.
Growing stronger.
And becoming one impressive little bush.

Today we're checking in with Pickle Lemon Haze F1 – Plant B.

🌱 Week Six – A Sea of Green
This week the Blue Tent has become exactly what I imagined when this project first began.
Instead of four individual plants competing for attention, the canopy is slowly merging into one beautiful sea of green.
One small adjustment changed the appearance of the entire tent.
Although Plant B measured around 66 cm or so in last week's report, I decided to lower and tighten the SCROG net across the whole tent. That means all four ladies are now sitting at approximately 60 cm, allowing every centimetre of new growth to be directed horizontally through the screen instead of vertically.
That's the real objective now.
We're no longer chasing height.
We're building surface area.
Every branch tucked beneath the screen today becomes another future flowering site tomorrow, and every empty square that disappears brings us one step closer to a perfectly even canopy.
Plant B continues embracing this process beautifully.

🌿 Pickle Lemon Haze F1 – Plant B
This phenotype continues showing the same personality she's displayed since the beginning.
She's wonderfully balanced.
While her sister naturally wants to stretch, Plant B seems perfectly happy expanding outward, producing a dense framework filled with healthy side branches.
The recovery after topping now feels like a distant memory.
Every new shoot is developing with confidence, and the canopy is becoming fuller with each passing day.
The stems continue thickening, the internodal spacing remains compact, and perhaps my favourite observation of all...
The foliage.
The leaves have developed that rich, healthy green colour every grower loves to see.
It's the kind of colour that quietly tells you the plant is comfortable.
Comfortable roots.
Comfortable environment.
Comfortable nutrition.
Sometimes healthy plants don't need dramatic stories.
They simply grow.

🕸️ The Beauty of SCROG
Every day begins almost the same way.
Open the tent.
Look across the canopy.
Find a few branches reaching above the screen.
Guide them gently into the next empty square.
Done.
It's one of those techniques that rewards patience far more than force.
There are no dramatic bends or stressful training sessions.
Just small daily adjustments that slowly transform individual plants into one unified canopy.
Looking across the Blue Tent now, it's becoming harder to tell where one plant finishes and another begins.
That's exactly what a healthy SCROG should look like.

Despite the warm weather outside, stable conditions inside the tent continue allowing the plants to recover effortlessly from training while maintaining vigorous vegetative growth.

🥥 Feeding & Irrigation
One thing I've learned over the years is that consistency often produces better results than constant adjustments.
Since increasing the feeding slightly a couple of weeks ago, the plants have responded exactly as I hoped.
The richer green colour has returned, growth remains vigorous, and there are no signs suggesting the recipe needs changing.
Current feeding schedule:
• Plagron Hydro A — 1.9 ml/L
• Plagron Hydro B — 1.9 ml/L
• Plagron Hydro Roots — 1 ml/L
Each plant continues receiving approximately 1.2 litres of nutrient solution every day through the Mars Hydro automatic drip irrigation system.
The automatic drainage system removes the runoff beneath the grow bags, preventing nutrient buildup around the roots while keeping the growing area remarkably clean.
It's one of those systems that quietly does its job every day while making the entire grow more consistent.

📸 Looking Closer – Discovering a Different World
One of the greatest joys of documenting these diaries has nothing to do with nutrients or training.
It's photography.
More specifically...
Macro photography.
Most people look at a cannabis plant and see leaves.
A macro lens tells a completely different story.
Suddenly the stems become covered in thousands of tiny protective hairs.
The beautiful purple pigmentation running through the branches begins revealing itself in incredible detail.
Young leaves show delicate textures that are almost impossible to appreciate with the naked eye.
Even the smallest leaf veins become intricate natural patterns.
The more time I spend behind the camera, the more I realise how much beauty exists in places we normally overlook.
Macro photography has changed the way I walk through the grow room.
It slows me down.
Instead of simply checking on the plants, I find myself truly observing them.
Every stem.
Every new leaf.
Every tiny detail nature has quietly been creating all along.
Growing teaches patience.
Macro photography teaches appreciation.
Together they've made me enjoy this hobby even more than I already did.

🌿 Looking Ahead
The mission for next week remains simple.
Continue filling the SCROG.
Maintain the stable environment.
Trust the process.
The canopy is becoming flatter every day, and with each branch finding its own place beneath the screen, the excitement for flowering continues to grow.

But there is absolutely no rush.
Healthy plants reward patience.

Project Blue Tent follows four individual plants, each documented in its own dedicated diary from seed all the way to harvest. Every plant shares the exact same environment, lighting, irrigation, nutrition and training strategy, allowing us to observe how each phenotype develops its own personality while keeping the growing conditions as consistent as possible.
Today we're checking in with Pickle Lemon Haze F1 – Plant B.
And this week marks another important milestone.
The canopy is full.
The structure is ready.
And we're preparing these beautiful ladies for their transition into flowering.

🌱 Week Seven – The Canopy Is Complete
Looking across the Blue Tent this week, it's becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish the four plants from above.
The SCROG has done exactly what we wanted it to do.
Instead of four individual plants growing vertically, we now have one remarkably even canopy spreading across the available space.
Plant B has been particularly well suited to this process.
From the beginning, she's shown a natural tendency to grow outward rather than constantly trying to reach upward. Her compact structure, strong side branching and excellent response to training have allowed her to fill her section of the screen beautifully.
After lowering and tightening the SCROG net, all four plants are now sitting at approximately 60 cm.
At this point we're no longer trying to gain height.
We're managing the surface we've created.
Every branch has found its place.
Every available section of the screen has been used.
And now it's time to prepare that canopy for what comes next.

🕸️ SCROG – From Training to Flowering
For anyone joining this diary without having followed the previous weeks, SCROG stands for Screen of Green.
The purpose of the screen is to guide branches horizontally instead of allowing a few dominant tops to grow significantly taller than everything around them.
As branches reach the screen, they're gently guided into neighbouring openings.
This spreads the future flowering sites across a wider area and creates a much more uniform canopy.
It's not about forcing the plant into an unnatural shape.
It's about taking the growth the plant is already producing and distributing it more efficiently across the available space.
And after several weeks of doing exactly that, the mission has essentially been completed.
The screen is full.
The canopy is even.
Now we move into the cleanup phase.

✂️ Defoliation – Preparing the Plants for Flower
This week's biggest job is defoliation.
And because this technique is often misunderstood, it's worth explaining what we're actually doing.
Defoliation isn't about stripping a plant of every leaf.
Leaves are essential to the plant. They capture light and support photosynthesis, so removing healthy foliage without a reason isn't the objective.
Instead, we're performing a deliberate canopy cleanup.
After weeks of vigorous vegetative growth and SCROG training, the interior of the plants has become extremely dense.
Leaves overlap.
Branches cross through one another.
Some areas are heavily shaded.
And airflow through the middle of the canopy becomes increasingly important.
So we're selectively removing foliage from areas where the density has become excessive.
We're opening the interior.
Creating more space between branches.
Improving airflow.
Improving visibility.
And creating a cleaner structure for the flowering cycle.
The objective isn't:
"Remove as many leaves as possible."
It's:
"Remove what is no longer helping the structure we're trying to build."
That's a very important difference.

🌬️ Why Defoliate Before the Flip?
Timing is everything.
A significant defoliation is a form of stress. Even when performed correctly, the plant needs some time to adjust to the loss of foliage and return to its normal growth rhythm.
That's why we're doing this before flowering, rather than waiting until we're already well into the bloom cycle.
Right now the plants are still running an 18/6 vegetative schedule.
They have time to recover.
We can perform the cleanup.
We can watch how they respond.
We can allow fresh growth to resume.
And then we can flip the lights once the plants have settled again.
I don't want to ask the plants to deal with a major cleanup at the same time they're dealing with the physiological transition into flowering.
Instead, we're following a simple sequence:
Build the canopy.
Fill the screen.
Clean the canopy.
Recover.
Flip.
The goal is to enter flowering with healthy plants and a well-organised structure.

🌿 Pickle Lemon Haze F1 – Plant B
Plant B continues showing exactly the personality we've come to know throughout this project.
She's balanced.
She's compact.
She's incredibly branchy.
And she seems perfectly happy growing sideways.
While Plant A has always shown a little more vertical ambition, Plant B has naturally concentrated her energy into lateral growth and secondary branching.
That has made her particularly enjoyable to work with under the SCROG.
Her stems have continued thickening nicely, her internodal spacing remains compact, and her foliage has developed that rich green colour we've been looking for.
The recovery from topping is now nothing more than a memory.
She's completely moved on from that stage and has spent the last few weeks concentrating on building the framework that will eventually support her flowering sites.
Looking at her now, it's easy to see how much the plant has changed.
She's no longer simply a young vegetative plant.
She's become a properly structured little bush with a full section of the canopy to her name.
And now we're preparing her for the next chapter.

🥥 Feeding – Staying With What Works
The nutrient recipe remains unchanged this week.
Current feeding:
• Plagron Hydro A — 1.9 ml/L
• Plagron Hydro B — 1.9 ml/L
• Plagron Hydro Roots — 1 ml/L
Current pH:
5.8
Current EC:
1.92 mS/cm
The plants continue showing excellent colour and vigorous growth, so I don't see a reason to change the recipe simply because we're approaching flowering.
Sometimes consistency is the better decision.
We'll see how the plants respond after defoliation, and depending on their recovery and appetite, we may increase the nutrient strength next week.
For now, however, they're telling me exactly what I want to hear.
Healthy colour.
Strong growth.
Good leaf posture.
And no obvious signs that they're asking for anything different.
So...
Nothing changes.

💧 Drip Irrigation – Keeping the Roots Consistent
The Mars Hydro automatic drip irrigation and drainage system continues to perform beautifully.
Each plant is receiving approximately 1.2 litres of nutrient solution per 24 hours, delivered through the automated drip system.
The slow and consistent irrigation keeps the coco supplied with fresh nutrient solution while the automatic drainage system removes the resulting runoff.
This is particularly valuable in a project like this.
Four plants are sharing the same environment.
The same nutrient recipe.
The same lighting.
The same irrigation schedule.
That consistency helps us keep another major variable under control.
And as the plants become larger, the benefit becomes even more obvious.
The irrigation system simply keeps doing its job every day.
No rushing around with watering cans.
No trying to remember which plant received what.
Just consistent irrigation while I concentrate on observing the plants themselves.
It's one of those systems that doesn't necessarily demand attention when it's working properly.
And honestly...
That's exactly how I like it.

The environmental conditions have remained very stable as we approach the transition into flowering.
This week's average conditions were:

• 💡 Light Schedule: 18/6
• 💧 Irrigation: approximately 1.2 L/plant/24h

• 📏 Height: approximately 60 cm
At this stage, stability is more important than constantly changing numbers.
The plants are healthy.
The canopy is full.
The roots are receiving consistent irrigation.
And the current nutrient strength is producing beautiful growth.
So we're staying the course.

🌿 A Full Canopy Means a Different Kind of Work
One of the interesting things about reaching this stage is that the work changes completely.
Earlier in the grow, the challenge was getting the plants to occupy the space.
Now the challenge is managing everything they've produced.
When the canopy was still developing, every new branch was welcome.
Now we have to start asking different questions.
Does this leaf contribute enough?
Is this area too crowded?
Can air move through here?
Is this branch getting enough light?
Is this part of the plant going to benefit from remaining in the canopy?
That's what good canopy management is really about.
It's not simply growing as much as possible.
It's deciding what growth deserves to remain part of the final structure.
And Plant B has given us plenty to work with.

Recovery Before Flowering
Once the defoliation is complete, the most important thing we can do is give the plants time.
No unnecessary additional stress.
No rushing.
No immediately piling another major intervention on top of the first one.
The plants need time to rebalance after the cleanup.
We'll watch the new growth.
We'll monitor their posture and overall appearance.
We'll keep the environment stable.
And we'll let them recover.
Once they're settled again, we'll be ready to move forward.
This is why the timing of the defoliation matters so much.
We're not trying to make the plants do everything at once.
We're preparing them step by step.

👀 Looking Ahead
The next few days should be particularly interesting.
The SCROG has been filled.
The canopy has been cleaned.
The plants now have room to breathe.
And we're approaching the moment we've been working toward for weeks.
The nutrient recipe will remain unchanged for now, although we may increase it once we see how the plants respond after defoliation.
The irrigation continues at approximately 1.2 litres per plant per day.
The environment remains stable.
And most importantly...
We're not rushing the flip.
We'll allow the plants to recover properly first.
Then, when they're ready...
We flower.

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another chapter of Project Blue Tent! 💙🌱
If you're discovering this diary for the first time, welcome aboard!
Project Blue Tent follows four individual plants from seed all the way through harvest, with each phenotype receiving her own dedicated diary.
All four sisters share the same tent, lighting, irrigation, nutrition, environmental conditions and overall training strategy.
The idea is simple:
Keep the variables as consistent as possible and let the genetics tell the story.
And this week...
The story is getting very interesting.
Because all four girls have entered flowering with absolutely no intention of slowing down.
Today we're giving the spotlight to Pickle Lemon Haze F1 – Plant B.
And once again...
She's shining. 💙🌱

🌸 Week Eight – Flower Has Arrived
The Blue Tent has officially entered the next chapter.
After seven full weeks of vegetation, we're now running 12/12, and the response from the plants has been immediate.
Plant B is now sitting around 81 cm, compared with approximately 60 cm when we finished the vegetative phase.
That's a serious amount of growth in a very short period.
And what's particularly impressive is that the plants aren't simply stretching upward.
They're developing everywhere.
The branches are extending.
New growth is appearing rapidly.
Flowering sites are becoming more obvious every day.
And the first real signs of bud development are now beautifully visible throughout Plant B's structure.
This is the point where all those weeks of preparation start becoming meaningful.
The SCROG gave us the structure.
The defoliation opened the canopy.
The training created the framework.
And now...
Flowering is filling that framework.

🌿 Pickle Lemon Haze F1 – Plant B
Plant B continues to be one of those girls that makes me stop and look twice.
Her foliage is lush, vibrant and beautifully green, and the overall health of the plant is exactly where I want it to be.
The developing flowers are progressing quickly, with fresh pistils and new growth appearing throughout the canopy.
And despite the speed at which she's developing, she's still maintaining a remarkably even structure.
That's something I really appreciate about this phenotype.
She has always been a cooperative plant.
She responds well to training.
She builds strong lateral growth.
And even now, with flowering underway and the stretch accelerating, she's still giving us a canopy that is relatively easy to manage.
At least...
As easy as four extremely vigorous plants can be. 😂

💥 Super Cropping – Keeping the Canopy Under Control
The biggest challenge right now isn't getting these girls to grow.
They've already made that part very clear.
The challenge is managing how quickly they're growing.
We're continuing to use super cropping on selected branches as another tool for managing the most vigorous vertical growth.
The idea is to reduce the dominance of certain shoots, redistribute growth and encourage stronger branching points as the plants continue developing.
And these girls are making me work for it.
I'll carefully work a branch down...
Come back later...
And somehow it's already standing back up again.

They're determined.
But that's actually what makes this stage so interesting.
We're not trying to stop their natural growth.
We're trying to work with it.
The canopy is already very even, and we're simply making small interventions where necessary to keep the most aggressive growth from getting too far ahead.
Whether we'll successfully keep everybody compact throughout the stretch?
Well...
Let's see.
They certainly haven't read that part of the plan.

🌸 Bud Formation – Things Are Moving Quickly
One of the most exciting changes this week is the speed of flower development.
We're only at the beginning of flowering, yet Plant B is already showing beautiful formation throughout the canopy.
The sites we've spent weeks creating and positioning are now beginning to transform.
Pistils are appearing.
Clusters are becoming more defined.
And every day there's another little sign that tells me:
We're properly in flower now.
This is one of those moments where you can finally see the purpose behind all the earlier work.
The individual branches aren't just branches anymore.
They're becoming future flowers.
And Plant B has plenty of them.

🌱 Seven Weeks of Vegetation – Was It Too Much?
Looking at Plant B now, I'm still wondering whether I gave these girls too much vegetative time.
Seven weeks of vegetation is considerably longer than I normally run.
Usually, I'd flip earlier.
But the extra time gave us something valuable:
A very established canopy.
Strong branches.
A developed root system.
And a structure capable of supporting a lot of flowering growth.
The downside is becoming very obvious now.
These plants have an incredible amount of momentum.
They grew from roughly 60 cm to around 81 cm incredibly quickly, and they're still moving.
So there is definitely a little bit of:
"What have I created?" 😂
happening in the grow room right now.
But worrying about it isn't going to make the plants grow slower.
We've prepared them.
We've trained them.
We've opened the canopy.
We're managing the stretch.
Now we watch.
And we see where these girls want to take us.

💡 Strong Light From the Beginning
The transition into flowering also means we're starting with approximately 800 PPFD across the canopy.
I want these girls to have strong light available from the beginning of flower rather than slowly creeping toward higher intensity.
They're already extremely vigorous, so the idea is to give them the photons they need while closely observing how the canopy responds.
The challenge is balancing that strong light with the environmental conditions and the very significant stretch we're already seeing.
I'm particularly interested in seeing whether the combination of strong light and continued canopy management can help keep the plants from becoming excessively elongated.
Because if there's one thing Plant B has demonstrated this week...
It's that she has absolutely no shortage of energy.

🌡️ Blue Tent Environment
The room continues to run with remarkably consistent conditions across all four sisters.
This week's recorded averages were:

• 🌙 Night Temperature: 27°C
• 💧 Relative Humidity: 67%
• 🥥 Substrate Temperature: 24°C
• 💦 Nutrient Solution: 19.1°C
• ⚗️ pH: 5.81
• ⚡ EC: 2.09 mS/cm
• 💨 CO₂: approximately 666 ppm
• 💡 Light Schedule: 12/12
• 💧 Irrigation: approximately 1.4 L/plant/24h
• ? Pot Size: 8 L
• 📏 Plant Height: approximately 81 cm
One thing that continues to stand out is the relatively small difference between day and night temperatures.
We're sitting around 27°C for both.
That can contribute to continued stretching, and considering how quickly these girls are already growing, it's something I'm keeping firmly in mind.
But for now, Plant B is responding beautifully.
Healthy foliage.
Strong development.
Rapid flower formation.
And no obvious signs that she's unhappy with her environment.

🥥 Feeding – Supporting the Transition
The flowering nutrition is now established.
Current feeding:
• Plagron Hydro A — 2 ml/L
• Plagron Hydro B — 2 ml/L
• Plagron Hydro Roots — 1 ml/L
• Plagron Power Buds — 1 ml/L
• pH Plus — 0.03 ml/L
• pH Min — 0.03 ml/L

The plants are consuming aggressively and developing extremely quickly, so the nutritional strategy is now supporting that transition without making unnecessary changes simply for the sake of changing something.
Plant B's colour is exactly what I want to see.
That beautiful, lush green foliage is telling me that she's handling the current program very well.
And when I look at the flowering sites developing throughout the canopy...
I'm certainly not seeing a plant asking me to interfere.
So for now:
We stay consistent.
Observe.
Measure.
Adjust only when necessary.

💧 The Drip & Drainage System – One Continuous Loop
The automatic irrigation and drainage setup has become one of my favourite parts of this project.
Plant B is now receiving approximately 1.4 litres of nutrient solution every 24 hours through the drip irrigation system.
The process is beautifully simple.
The drippers deliver the nutrient solution directly to the coco.
The solution passes through the substrate and feeds the root zone.
The resulting runoff drains into the collection trays underneath the grow bags.
From there, the drainage pipe carries the water toward the pump.
The pump removes the collected runoff and returns it toward the reservoir, creating a recirculating irrigation and drainage loop.
Water goes in.
The plants use what they need.
Runoff is collected.
The pump moves it away.
And the system continues its cycle.
It's a remarkably elegant setup when everything is working properly.
And right now...
It is working wonderfully.
The plants are growing rapidly, their water demand is increasing, and the system is keeping irrigation consistent without requiring me to manually water four increasingly thirsty plants every day.
That consistency is especially valuable in a project where we're deliberately trying to keep the four sisters under comparable conditions.
It's another variable we can keep controlled while we watch the genetics express themselves.

🕸️ Managing the Canopy During the Stretch
The SCROG has already done its main job.
Now we're using the structure we've created to manage flowering growth.
The canopy remains impressively even.
There are no huge dominant towers completely taking over the room.
Instead, the flowering sites are distributed across the surface we've spent weeks building.
But the stretch is happening quickly.
So we're continuing to watch the taller shoots and selectively using training and super cropping where necessary.
This isn't about constantly manipulating the plant.
It's about making small corrections before a branch becomes a major problem.
A little intervention now can be much easier than trying to fix an overly dominant branch later.
And Plant B has responded very well so far.
She's stretching...
But she's stretching into a structure.
That's exactly what I wanted.

🌿 Plant B's Personality Is Still There
This is one of my favourite things about Project Blue Tent.
From above, the four sisters can look almost identical.
Same tent.
Same lights.
Same irrigation.
Same nutrients.
Same environment.
And yet...
Spend enough time with them and their personalities start becoming obvious.
Plant B remains one of the more naturally cooperative phenotypes.
She's vigorous, but her structure remains usable.
She's growing rapidly, but the canopy hasn't become chaotic.
She's producing flowering sites quickly, while maintaining that beautiful green foliage we've been watching since vegetation.
And now she's showing another characteristic:
She doesn't seem particularly interested in slowing down.

Which, honestly, is a pretty good problem to have.

🌸 From Canopy to Flowers
There is something incredibly satisfying about looking at Plant B now and remembering what she looked like only a few weeks ago.
Back then, we were talking about:
Topping.
SCROG.
Empty squares.
Branch positioning.
Defoliation.
Canopy management.
Now we're talking about:
Flowering sites.
Pistils.
Stretch.
Bud formation.
And eventually...
Bulk.
That's the transition we've been working toward.
The plant has moved from building the machine to using the machine.
The canopy is the foundation.
Now the flowers get to take over the story.

👀 Looking Ahead
The next couple of weeks should be fascinating.
All four sisters are moving incredibly quickly, and Plant B is right there with them.
We'll continue managing the canopy as needed.
We'll keep an eye on the stretch.
Super cropping will remain one of the tools available when individual branches get too ambitious.
The irrigation system will continue providing its consistent cycle.
The flowering nutrition will continue supporting development.
And the environmental conditions will remain under close observation.
Most importantly...
We don't need to panic about the speed.
Yes, they're growing fast.
Yes, I may have kept them in vegetation longer than usual.
Yes, the warm nights aren't exactly helping us keep the stretch compact.
But the plants are healthy.
The canopy is remarkably even.
The flowers are forming beautifully.
And Plant B is looking absolutely fantastic.
So...
Let's see where this goes.
