RootToRosin Week 1 – Cap Junky Clone Test 2026 With this grow, I'm starting a documented test run of a Cap Junky clone (Capulator x Seed Junky), which I received from a friend’s cloning shop. The goal is to document the development of the plant from the takeover as a rooted clone to the harvest under identical conditions and to evaluate the quality of the clones as objectively as possible. The clone was planted 2 days ago in Plagron clay pebbles/Cocos Hydromix (60/40) and is growing under a Maxibright LED in an AutoPot system. It's being fed with the Athena Blended Line. The focus of this run is not on maximum yield, but on plant vitality, structure, resin production, flower quality, and later product photos. Already in the first few days after planting, the Cap Junky is making a very positive impression. The plant shows active new growth, a strong stem structure, and a compact growth form with short internodes. The side branches are developing evenly, and the plant overall looks very vigorous. Currently, the Cap Junky measures 24 cm. Particularly striking is the combination of a strong main stem, good branching, and high leaf mass. Despite the recent repotting, no significant stress symptoms or growth problems are noticeable so far. In the coming weeks, the stretch behavior, flower development, resin production, and overall performance compared to the other tested elite cuts will be particularly interesting.

RootToRosin Week 2 – Cap Junky Clone Test 2026 The Cap Junky is starting off very promisingly in the second week after planting. The cutting has established itself well in the new substrate and continues to show strong, active growth. Particularly positive is the stable stem structure. The plant looks vital, is quickly building leaf mass, and already shows several active side shoots. Currently, the Cap Junky is one of the strongest plants in the comparative grow. It exhibits a good combination of growth power, structure, and uniformity. The new growth is still a bit lighter but appears healthy and active. No significant stress symptoms, necrosis, or relevant growth problems are currently noticeable. The light distance has now been reduced to about 60cm to keep the growth more compact and to promote the side shoots more strongly. For now, no topping will be done, as the plant is already showing good branching on its own. The focus remains on a quick, clean run with a healthy plant structure, high flower quality, and later high-quality photo material. The Cap Junky makes a very strong impression in this early phase. 🌱

RootToRosin Woche 3 – Cap Junky Clone Test 2026 Die Cap Junky startet sehr stark in Woche 3 nach dem Einsetzen. Mit der Umstellung auf 12/12 ab Woche 3 Tag 1 beginnt nun die frühe Blüte- und Stretchphase. Gleichzeitig wurde das AutoPot-System aktiviert, sodass die Pflanze nun konstant über das System versorgt wird. Gefüttert wird aktuell mit Athena Blended Bloom Woche 1, leicht entschärft auf einen EC von 2,1. Der pH-Wert liegt bei 5,8. Das Licht läuft mit 376 W bei ungefähr 60 cm Abstand. Aktuell misst die Cap Junky 49 cm und gehört damit zu den kräftigeren Pflanzen im Vergleichsgrow. Auch optisch bestätigt sich dieser Eindruck: Die Pflanze zeigt einen stabilen Haupttrieb, viel Blattmasse und zunehmend aktive Seitentriebe. Sie wirkt gut etabliert, vital und wachstumsfreudig. Der frische Neuaustrieb ist etwas heller, wirkt aber gesund und aktiv. Das passt gut zur aktuellen Phase, in der die Pflanze sichtbar in den Stretch startet. Die Struktur bleibt bisher kontrolliert und bietet gute Voraussetzungen für eine gleichmäßige Blütenentwicklung.

RootToRosin Flowering Week 2 – Cap Junky Clone Test 2026 The Cap Junky is now in flowering week 2 and continues to develop very steadily. It's running in the AutoPot system with Plagron clay pebbles/Cocos Hydromix and is being fed with the Athena Blended Line. The pH is at 5.8, and the Athena Bloom schedule has now been set to an EC of 2.3. Currently, the Cap Junky measures 59 cm. This keeps it significantly more compact than the Permanent Marker, but it's nearly on par with MAC1 and Super Buff Cherry #26. The stretch has been controlled so far and not overly pronounced. Particularly positive is the robust structure of the plant. The Cap Junky shows a stable main stem, good leaf mass, and several active side branches. The flower sites are beginning to visibly develop, while the plant appears overall vital and balanced. The fresh new growth looks a bit lighter but appears active and healthy. Relevant stress symptoms, larger necroses, or significant growth problems are currently not noticeable.

RootToRosin Cap Junky – Flowering Week 3 The Cap Junky reaches a height of 67 cm in flowering week 3, making it significantly more compact than the other cuts in the comparison grow. While Permanent Marker, MAC1, and Super Buff Cherry #26 continue to grow tall, the Cap Junky is increasingly focusing on the development of its flower clusters. The AutoPot system runs actively throughout the week. It is fed with the Athena Blended Bloom Line. The nutrient solution starts the week at approximately EC 2.53 and pH 5.7. After about three days, the tank measures around EC 2.59 and pH 6.0. Since the values in the tray are nearly identical, there are no signs of noticeable accumulation or microbial activity directly in the root zone. The temperature mostly stays between 25 and 26 °C, while the relative humidity remains quite high at around 65–70%. The light output is increased to 500 watts over the course of the week. The Cap Junky responds well to the more intense lighting overall. The upper foliage remains slightly lighter and continues to show a more pronounced contrast between leaf veins and leaf surfaces. However, there is no acute deterioration. There are neither increasing necroses nor severe burns or pronounced clawing. Particularly positive is the early resin formation. Even at this stage, the small flower petals and around the young bud sites clearly show the first trichomes. The compact structure with short internodes and several similarly tall tops makes the cut well controllable and efficient for smaller grow spaces.

RootToRosin Cap Junky – Flowering Week 4 The fourth week of flowering for the Cap Junky starts at BT22 with a careful clean-out. Only weak and poorly lit shoots, as well as excess leaf material in the lower area, are removed. Right after the intervention, the lamp initially runs at about 75% power before being increased back to the full 500W. Cap Junky continues to show its distinctly compact growth this week. The height only increases from about 67 to 73 cm, keeping it significantly smaller than the other three plants. At the same time, it develops a very even canopy with many closely spaced flower shoots. The new growth appears somewhat lighter, and individual leaves show more pronounced veins. However, no clear deficiency can be identified, as the plant remains overall vigorous and continues to develop its flowers normally. After the carefully executed clean-out, it shows no visible stress reaction. The first leaves near the flowers are also increasingly showing resin coverage. Despite its small height, Cap Junky already looks very promising. It seems to be investing its energy less in further stretch and more in a stout, resin-rich flower structure. Feeding continues according to the Athena-Bloom schedule for week 4 at approximately EC 2.65 and pH 5.9.

RootToRosin Cap Junky – Flowering Week 5 Cap Junky is starting the fifth flowering week at a height of about 75 cm. Its stretch is practically complete. It remains significantly smaller and more compact than the other strains and forms an even canopy with many closely spaced flower shoots. The previously somewhat lighter new growth and the more visible leaf veins are still present but seem to be slowly improving. Overall, the plant looks vigorous and is processing the current nutrient supply well. The resin coverage on the sugar leaves is now visibly increasing, while the flowers are beginning to gain more volume and density. It is being fed according to the Athena-Bloom schedule for week 5 at about EC 2.4 and pH 5.7. The LED is still running at 500 watts, and the AutoPot system remains active. The climate is mostly at 26–27 °C and 60–63 % RH. This week, Cap Junky confirms its previous characteristics: hardly any stretch, compact structure, and early noticeable resin production.

RootToRosin Cap Junky – Flowering Week 6 The stretch of the Cap Junky is completely finished. It remains significantly smaller than the other three genetics at around 75 cm and continues to confirm its very compact growth. The available space is being used efficiently: Many evenly developed top buds are sitting close together and are increasingly starting to gain volume. This week, the strong resin production is particularly noticeable. The sugar leaves already look noticeably frosted, and the flowers are increasingly taking on their compact, frosty structure. The previously somewhat lighter new growth hardly weighs negatively anymore - overall, the plant presents itself as healthy and stable. The feeding follows the Athena Bloom schedule for week 6 at around EC 2.4 and pH 5.6. Now that it finally cools down a bit at night, the climate is around 24–25 °C and 55–58 % humidity. Cap Junky remains the most compact genetics in comparison, but it is developing a very strong resin content early on and increasingly dense flowers.
