Borberad T.H.Seeds: Bubble Banana Gum
Dear chroniclers of fruity progress at Borberad! After our recent excursions, our botanical curiosity now leads us to a truly tropical and extremely sticky temptation: Bubble Banana Gum from the renowned T.H.Seeds.
We are preparing for an olfactory journey into a world full of sweet, fruity childhood memories! With our proven method of detailed photo documentation and occasional video analyses, we will closely follow the vital development of this resin-loaded beauty. We are excited and hope to see how from the first shoots, possibly gigantic clusters of sticky banana sweetness develop – and whether we will end up sinking into a sea of gum dreams or harvest a sticky record yield.
Genetics: Bubble Banana Gum is the spectacular result of crossing the world-famous, sugary Bubblegum with a specially selected, extremely fruity Banana Pudding. T.H.Seeds has stabilized a strain here that combines the legendary resin density of the original Bubblegum with the intense, tropical profile of banana. The genetics exhibit a perfectly balanced, slightly Indica-dominant hybrid structure.
Size: In the tent, Bubble Banana Gum develops a medium to well-stretching stature, typically in the range of 90 to 140 centimeters. It responds phenomenally to training and LST, as it naturally grows with strong branching, allowing us to create a perfectly controllable, wide canopy.
Color: In the veg stage, the lady shows off a vibrant, lively light to medium green with strikingly strong leaf stems. During flowering, thick, light green flower clusters form, covered by a dense, white carpet of sticky trichomes, giving the buds a frosty, almost white appearance.
Taste: The aroma is an absolute unique selling point: An extremely sweet, penetrating note of classic pink bubblegum, paired with the unmistakable, ripe flavor of sweet banana. A fruity, almost creamy taste experience that lingers on the palate for a long time.
Characteristics: The most outstanding feature of this strain is its extreme stickiness and resilience to training stress. It is an absolute dream plant for resin extractions, as the trichome heads become extremely large. The flowering time is a very moderate 8 weeks, during which it shows enormous speed in bud growth.
Start
As always, we start our grow by soaking in a 1% H2O2 solution for about 24 hours.
Day 1: A small root tip is already showing, now it’s off to the Easyplug.
Day 2: The little one has pushed its way to the surface.
Day 3: The root has already grown through the plug and it goes straight into the 60L fabric pot with prepared "Livingsoil."
Day 4:
Transplanting survived, but it seems to need some time to adjust.

Still using osmosis water with Calmag, and now additionally 2x a week with silica. To lower the pH value, sulfur is used the first time and phosphoric acid the second time, so that the pH is between 6.5 and 6.8. Conductivity about 800 microSiemens.

Day 40 It was time again for some care of the little wild garden. The cover crop was pushed aside and on to the training..... Snap, there it was already done. Despite the "long" internode piece left standing, the little flower has split on us. So, some duct tape around it, a bit of tension, and it's fixed, and off we go, so that we achieve a nice even distribution of the shoots.

Borberad The training and the accidental splitting of the stem were handled well. All of her 8 shoots are eagerly reaching for the sun and growing strong. To allow the callus to grow better in the dark and away from the surroundings, the tape will be removed in one to two weeks at the earliest.

Since we don't want to grow a cover crop but rather our banana, the pretty but clearly oversized French herb will be shredded and returned to the cycle.

The little plant has fully switched to flowering and has been evenly trained outwards so that the inner areas receive enough light, currently 900 PPFD at the top bud tip.

The rather dense undergrowth has been pushed outwards a bit for better light and air supply and will be trimmed soon.

Unfortunately, the accidental contamination with H202 during the tent disinfection has left its mark. The pistils of the buds are still visibly brown. Let's see if the lady forgives us.
