Guerilla Grow 2026 - spot # 3

Jesperado The apes spent their first two weeks at a friend’s house, where they received a somewhat “exclusive” amount of light — as in, not very much. Naturally, they stretched a bit, reaching for the glow like tiny jungle philosophers searching for meaning. They’ve now been moved into their final containers, given a little support to help them stand proud, and relocated to their new home in a secret spot. Not the most glamorous start in life, but the apes are settling in nicely — a little taller than planned, but still ready to grow into proper little beasts.

Jesperado The Apes seem a bit stunned compared to my other 3-week-old plants. One of them dried out, so I'm down to 4. My guess is that the tall, narrow pots haven't been ideal for root development, and the black containers have likely been heating up the substrate more than I'd like under the sun. To fix that, I've dug the pots into the ground. This should help keep the root zone cooler, improve moisture retention, and hopefully encourage the plants to bounce back and find their stride.

Jesperado The apes have officially left their pots. I figured the pots were just too small, especially since I can’t visit every day to give them water and attention like some kind of full-time jungle butler. Out in the ground, they should have a bit more room to do their thing — and hopefully blend in better over the next few weeks. Now I’m just hoping the copper collars are enough to keep the slug gang away. There were four of them prowling around when I arrived this morning, looking way too interested.

Jesperado The Apes are doing great — well, at least a few of them are clearly showing off. They’ve completely taken the lead in the growth race and are now outpacing my other 5-week-old plants like they’ve got somewhere important to be. What really surprises me, though, is how much variation there is between them, especially considering they’re F1 seeds. My best guess is that since they went into the ground, the underground conditions vary from spot to spot — even though they’re standing close together and getting the same amount of sun. Today they got a little treat: some molasses, a pinch of Epsom salt, and a bit of calcium. Basically a tiny plant smoothie for the overachievers.

Jesperado The Apes are flowering, and the difference between the plants is enormous. The one in the middle is the only one that truly took off, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up producing as much as the rest of them combined. Putting them directly into the ground probably wasn’t the mistake. The real problem was that I only planted them with the six litres of soil from their original pots. I should have brought plenty of additional soil to give the roots a much better environment to expand into. I’ve since added guano as a top dressing and continue watering with plenty of molasses, but at this stage, the smaller plants are not going to catch up.

Jesperado The apes are developing nicely and seem to be thriving—apart from the little runt of the group, who has started showing some yellow leaves. Apparently, not everyone got the memo about staying green and healthy.

Jesperado The Apes are flowering, and the pistils are already turning amber. They’re not huge, but this strain clearly wastes no time. Today was Epsom salt day. My watering rotation is Epsom salt, molasses, calcium acetate, molasses and repeat - I water every second day. Together with the guano, they should have everything they need.
