Well here I go.i have never used coco.i bought canna brand coco and mixed it half and half with spagnum peat moss.if anybody has any advise for a first time coco grower.especially what how to water and use nutrients to get the best outcome let me know.
I started my six shooter in a medium made of canna coco coir and peat moss.50 50 ratio.this is just somthing new that im trying.can anybody tell me if this is ok and if I should do somthing differnt.im starting my next one in a couple weeks.
Hi there! https://cocoforcannabis.com/ there is aeverything you need to know about growing in coco 😉 But most important thing when coco growing is to check your Ph level! Also some botanical activator(enzymes product like ActiVera BioBizz) is important for microbiological life in there. With these you should do just fine 👊👍 Happy growing !
Ok.i thought she was done and now I'm getting new growth, fox tails.should I hold out a cpuple more weeks.she also has alot of yellowing going on.pretty much most of the plant.there are also purple leaves which mean harvest time so I'm just confused on whats going on.
Hey dont worry about the foxtails. I just harvested my shooters and they foxtailed like several other grows I have seen on them. This strain just likes to foxtail. Dont judge your harvest off the new growth. Monitor your older trichomes and when they are mostly cloudy with some amber or whatever percentage you plan to harvest then go ahead as planned. She looks beautiful and about ready.
Thanks man.my mix is 50 50 so I hope its good.i will drop my ph a couple points.i go for 6.8 usually but I'm new to coco.i also have coco conssier from advanced nutes coming in.i have some really good root stimulator.roots accelerator, and micro from advanced nutes.i didnt wamt to add nitrogen because the peat moss already has it
Hi @Chronicbastard! You're on the right track, mixing coco coir with soil makes the perfect medium for growing autoflowering strains. I do almost the same, but instead of peat moss, I usually mix with some pre-made LightMix from Canna or Biobizz. These mediums have the ability to buffer the pH and they do a better job when it comes to handling micro nutrients. Your mix will be light and airy but I'm afraid it will retain too much water and won't have enough nutrients for more than ~2 weeks, so pay attention to your plant's reactions (mostly leaves coloration and shape) and give it a good meal with some root stimulator and Nitrogen once you will see the first signs of a deficiency (slight yellowing at the bottom, slow growth..). The more coco in your mix, the more nutrients you will need to add later. Also, using more than 30% of coco coir in your mix, you will have to use a pH pen and make sure you waterings are within the 5.8~6.2 pH range. Hope this will help, keep us updated and happy growing! 👊
