Athosanswered grow question 5 years ago Since its your first time, the most common rookie problems (and for old growers too) that you are probably incurring in are: 1) over watering and 2) temperatures too low. 1) When using a pot too big for the size of the plant you will most likely over water, which prevents the plant from uptaking oxygen, slowing the growth down to a crawl. Let the soil dry up before watering again, no more than a cup of water around the base of the plant. 2) when temperatures are below 23°C (73°F) the plant growth slows down to a crawl. If you have both issues, then the growth will be super slow.
