Papaya Jealousy

Psykixx On the morning of 07/06/26, I placed the seeds to germinate in a damp paper towel. I put it in a Ziploc bag and hung it in the drying cabinet (I'm using the germination method from Serious Seeds, which has worked well for me). 07/07/26 I checked in this evening, and someone is already so motivated that I decided to pot them up. Just a quick note, I'm starting in 1.4-liter pots and in a 50/50 mix of my soil mix where they'll also stay later (without fertilizer) and regular seedling and herb soil. 08/07/26 Today we have emerged. The little one needed a bit of a boost since the seed membrane got stuck to the cotyledons after the seed coat popped off, preventing the cotyledons from opening. Since I keep seedlings under a transparent plastic dome during and for the first few days after germination, the membrane was moist enough that I could carefully remove it without extra dampening. One more quick note about the setup. Right now, it's in my drying cabinet under 3 Sanlight Flex, as the Tropicana Cherry is still blocking the cabinet. But it's been in the last few days, so I think it will move to the proper setup under the Evo 3-100 at the beginning of next week. I've set the DLI to 10-11 for now. I'll gradually increase it over the next few days. 09/07/26 I only got to check on the little one just before the lights went out today. After it unexpectedly stretched quite a bit, I raised the DLI to 15-16. 10/07/26 Overnight, the young lady stretched quite well again and has turned into a little asparagus Tarzan. 11/07/26 The DLI of 15-16 seems to be working quite well. At least it looks like she's not stretching any further. I've also removed the plastic dome and set the humidifier. 12-14/07/26 Nothing noteworthy has happened. We're just waiting and watching her grow.
