First Grow - Gelato Auto FB

HuiArii Start time : mid july. Germination took 48h. For this first grow, I went with an AN kit, lightmix from Plagron and fiber pot. For the first week, it was a matter of managing summer hit. I used cones to maintain humidity, had to play around with it to compromise between heat and humidity, all the while remaining at a tolerable VPD. Did not receive my fans and inline duct fan yet so it was hot in there. Only water until day 3, when I added VJ.

HuiArii Still very hot outside. I managed to keep them going but I noticed a difference between those that were closer to the air entries, growing faster than those away from them. Introduced VJ and Sensi Grow Ph Perfect from AN, decided to divide the recommended dose by half, to stay "safe". Added the fan to circulate the air, pointing upwards towards the door, wich I opened slightly to facilitate hot air going out. In my head, it did make a difference 😂

HuiArii Theyʻre all coming out slowly, still playing around with the fan and spryaing some water on the walls to manage VPD. Theyʻre stressing, iʻm stressing. Difference of development is visible between the two in front and the two in the back. I added a white towel in the hope of reducing heat absorption from the black floor. (PS: I would avoid doing that. Felt like a good idea heat-wise, maybe it was, but it does increase the chances of mold, especially at that VPD.)

HuiArii So i decided I was too lazy to write the whole journal so here we are, week 10. The 4 plants are not synchronized, and the least advanced is probably around 10 days late from the most advanced. I need to harvest them all on the same day, as oy growing room will also be my drying room, so I'll aim for the best compromise for trichomes maturity. Had some issues, could not tell if it was calcium def or else, did not tryed to fix them. There are still new white pistils and calix appearing every day so they must be in the middle of their bulk. For the next two weeks, i'll maintain the same regimen and wait for the first signs of senescence to cut out all additives and progressively lowering basic bloom by half each watering until harvest day. No "flush" for this run, only reduction. Also I expect lots but less dense buds, as I've opted to not take off a lot of the middle buds to allow better air flow because the four run on different clocks and canope was too hard to manage and predict. I do think it was the right call : there's more space between each buds and branches, the lights does penetrate to reach the lower buds.

HuiArii They're bulking nicely. #1 is showing first signs of senesance while #4 seems to be in the middle of its bulk. I cut the nutrtients by half at the last day of the week. I think i'm entering the last 12-14 days, maybe a harvest around the middle of week 13. we'll see. Cut B-52 because the bottle was empty (lol), and nutrtients reduction is also partly because I'm at the very end of my base bloom bottle. Damage control, basically..

HuiArii End of week 12. #1 and #2 look ready in 2-3 days and #3 and #4 look like they need at least another whole week, but i'll cut it during week 13, probably mid week. During this week, I added a watering free day, wich I now think is a mistake as my upper leaves started tacoing and getting real dry. Will not do this again. Also it seems like it made the smell on #1 and #2 go down, wich makes me worry a little. But overall it's an okay week. They'll be put down in the coming days. I made the effort to use AI to adjust the pictures, hope they look better now.

HuiArii I cut all four. The smell and size once outside the box scared the shit out of me so i did not take the time to weigh them. I'll do a small report after the dry trim. Overall satisfied with the strain, they showed up well even tho i'd like more stability on the phenos, I've ended up with 4 different plant size, structure, bud shape, density and colour wich is both a source of joy and trouble. I'll do a better job next time with my reports, hope this one was enjoyable still. For the dry, I'll aim for 18-22°C and 50-60% RH.

HuiArii Dried for 7 days with 20-23°c and 60% which I lowered to 50 during the last two days. After trim and jar, the humidity raised to 61 only, but I kept burping until I reached a stable humidity between 52 and 56. This took also 7 days, as I only burped when I could my room humidty was close enough to my target point. Total yield : 602G. Wtf, I know. Gelato 1 : 180 Gelato 2 : 222 Gelato 3 : 110 Gelato 4 : 90 (cut before proper finish) After I weighted, and reweighted it, I could not believe how much they made.It is the real number! Checked 3 times.So definitely satisfied with the yield and the overall run. Appart from the lack of stability, each pheno held their own and brought something to the table. Auto Gelato is Legit. Congratulations Fast Buds and Advanced nutrtients, you got yourself a customer. Smoke test done with S&B's Crafty : Gelato 1 : Opens with a punchy, sweet lime that shifts into a drier, bitter-orange peel and lingers. Subtle woody, peppery back notes round it out. 8/10. Gelato 2 : Lemony, Sprite-like lemon-lime up front with a creamy body, then herbal, gassy back notes. The flavor lingers, and so does the high: soothing, calming, and building gradually. She gets a 8/10. Gelato 3 : Intense banana up front, quickly fading into a slight sour lime. Candy-like: a big spike of sweetness and flavor that disappears just as fast, leaving you reaching for another. She's my favorite. 8.5/10. Gelato 4 tastes and smells like shit lol, not her fault I cut her too soon but had no choice. The End. Hope you enjoyed.
