Desfran, the master plan

PPFDaddy Hey everyone! Here we go with a brand new adventure. This time I want to actually use the current environmental conditions where I live, brutally hot, to my advantage by pairing them with the right genetics. Enter Desfran. This is my first pure sativa. Up until now I've only grown hybrids, never a pure sativa or pure indica, so this is genuinely new territory for me. With near-equatorial heat currently hitting my region, why not put it to good use with a strain built to actually thrive in that kind of stress instead of suffering from it? I'm very curious to see how this plays out. For now I'm keeping things simple: just CalMag in RO water up to an EC base of 0.4, a couple drops of Aptus Regulator, and Voodoo Juice. I'll likely stick with this light approach for another week before moving into a full feeding schedule. Good luck to everyone, and as always critiques and advice are more than welcome! 🙌

PPFDaddy Hey growers! Another week gone by fairly smoothly. The seedlings are handling the heat well, sitting above 30°C with humidity kept around 87% inside the grow box. Right now I'm watering roughly 200ml per pot, once a day, using Aptus Regulator and CalMag for a total EC of 500. PPFDaddy Hey growers! Another smooth week overall, though two plants in the group are showing some stress signs. Since all plants get the same treatment, I'm guessing I just got a couple of unlucky seeds. Quick note: you'll notice one extra plant in the group. I planted a backup seed on purpose in case germination or early veg issues popped up. Now that everyone's established, I'll pick the weakest one and cut it, keeping the strongest plants moving forward. Feeding-wise, I'm at EC 1.0 with 1ml Athena Grow A + 1ml Athena Grow B, plus the usual CalMag and Aptus Regulator base. That's it for now. PPFDaddy Hey growers, here we are again! Another week flew by, and I have to say these girls came out swinging right from the start. I can't complain, especially considering they're only getting watered once a day, so I'm not even pushing their full potential yet. As you can see, I've topped the more developed plants, leaving the seemingly weaker ones alone for now. They've kept growing like nothing happened and are just waiting to move into their new home with all the comforts. Humidity has been sitting around 80-85%, temps around 31-32°C, and I've bumped the EC up slightly to 1.3, with regular runoff. That's all for now. PPFDaddy Hey growers, another week done and dusted! Since moving the girls into their new home, they’ve taken off like rockets. I’ve been training them day by day, managing to even out the canopy nicely. After all, I am a personal trainer too..lol. On the nutrition side, I haven’t changed much, just bumped the total EC up by 0.1. What did change was the watering schedule though: I switched to a multi-frequency irrigation system, splitting feedings into 7 times a day. As you can see, everything’s looking pretty much perfect right now. The only thing left to do is flip the light cycle over to flowering, before things get out of hand like they did in the previous run. That’s all for now. PPFDaddy Hey growers! Stable week, main news: flipped to flower, girls are officially in bloom. Expected a bigger stretch based on what I'd read about Desfran, but there's still two weeks left on paper, so no conclusions yet. Sitting at 40 cm after topping, defoliation, and training. Switched to Athena Bloom A+B plus the usual Aptus Regulator, both at recommended dosage. Bumped EC up 0.2 too, runoff was reading a bit low even with no deficiencies showing. Hoping they stretch enough to fill the tent with no gaps, what do you think? Holding off on the SCROG net for now, last run I put it in too early and the plants blew right past it, killing its whole purpose. Thinking week 2 halfway or early week 3 this time. Thoughts welcome! PPFDaddy Hey growers! These Desfran girls are absolutely thriving this week. Just one week post-topping and training, and they've already formed dense, well-branched structures with the first pistils showing, growing exponentially to fill nearly every gap in the tent. With two more weeks of stretch expected on paper, I'm watching final height closely but feeling confident. I bumped EC up by 0.1 this week, since runoff readings were coming in slightly lower than input EC. Color's a touch lighter than ideal, but I'm keeping fertigation conservative rather than risk overfeeding. The real highlight? Thick, sturdy stems despite the aggressive stretch, a clear step up from the last run's genetics. Aptus Regulator keeps outperforming Advanced Nutrients' Rhino Skin, and I'm eager to see the first bud sites emerge.
