Triple Mint XXL

DopeCutz This time I’m spared the germination and raising, thanks to the lovely young plants from Sensi Seeds. It’s amusing to think that about 25 years ago my first seed order was still delivered hidden in Dutch licorice. Today I receive "ready-2-bloom" plants with a height of about 25 cm, great white roots, and beautifully nutrient-rich leaves simply by mail. Thank you very much for the excellent work. Now I’m excited about the promising Cookie genetics.

DopeCutz The girls have gotten used to their new location, you can still see the transplant shock in the pictures. After a lot of thought, I decided not to use any cutting technique to preserve their natural beauty and to get a fat terminal bud.

DopeCutz The 3 stems are stretching straight towards the light. They are now very vigorous and ready to start flowering!

DopeCutz A week after the switch, the stretch is noticeable, with the 3 plants reaching 70 cm as they stretch towards the light. The first stigmas are already visible. I'm fertilizing according to the BioBizz schedule, and I'm adding CalMag as a preventive measure. Right now, I'm battling fungus gnats with the help of SF nematodes.

DopeCutz On the 21st day of flowering, there was a P/K-heavy compost tea. The vertical growth has stopped, and the first clusters are slowly forming! I thinned out a bit at the bottom to show that this is original SensiSeeds genetics and to drive the energy into the strong top. Currently, the lights are blasting the ladies with 750 ppfd, and this value will be gradually increased throughout the week.

DopeCutz It's always a nice sight when I open the tent: The plants are preparing for autumn and shedding some of their big leaves. Right now, I'm watering them every two days with 1–1.5 liters of concentrated BioBizz nutrient solution to encourage their bulking. I keep the humidity below 60%, which is difficult with nighttime temperatures around 15 °C, but the plants are responding with anthocyanin leaves.

DopeCutz Week 5 – [Flowering Day 35] Environment & Nutrients: Temp & RLF: [24°C / 60%] Watering: [2L every 3 days | pH 6.4 | EC 1.4] Light: [850ppfd 40 cm distance @ 70%] In the 5th week of flowering, the pistils are still bright white, and the flower cups continue to swell, creating some serious mass. A beautiful white layer of trichomes is forming on the sugar leaves. It's getting frosty! The plant is losing its lower fan leaves, allowing light to reach the lower parts of the plant. The transition from green to purple-colored leaves is exciting, very impressive! With a heating mat, I can currently keep the root temperature at 19 °C during the increasingly colder nights. At the same time, I keep the RLF low.

DopeCutz Week 6 – [Flowering Day 45] Environment & Nutrients: Temp & RH: [24 °C / 55 %] Watering: [2 L every 3 days | pH 6.4 | EC 1.4] Light: [850 PPFD, 40 cm distance @ 70 %] In the last third of flowering, trichome production is in full swing, and the pistils are still mostly white; I'm hoping for more mass from swelling calyxes in the coming week. The lower fan leaves have been completely shed by the plant. The nutrient solution has been adjusted according to the BioBizz scheme. Beautiful color play with purplish leaves that create a great contrast to the frosty buds. In the coming week, I'll patiently wait for more flower mass and keep an eye on the RH.

DopeCutz Week 7 – [Flowering Day 51] Environment & Nutrients: Temp & RH: [24 °C / 55 %] Watering: 0.2 l / 3 days Light: 850 PPFD, 40 cm distance @ 70 % By now, the buds are covered in trichomes and the calyxes are swelling, the pistils are slowly turning brown. The last feeding according to the BioBizz schedule is complete, from now on, watering will be done with tempered water. The trichome heads are changing from clear to milky.

DopeCutz Week 8 – [Flowering Day 57] Temp & RLF: [24 °C / 55 %] Watering: 1.5 l / 3 days Light: 850 PPFD, 40 cm distance @ 70 % Waiting every day has paid off, but now the end is near. A frosty trichome carpet covers the headbuds, well-defined and generously spread across the sugar leaves. Additionally, the buds have become larger and denser. Looking through the microscope, the trichomes are 90% milky/cloudy; I'm waiting for a bit more amber and will harvest in the next few days. Watering has been reduced to a 2/week interval, only with water. Nighttime temperatures around 10 °C in the tent, which I believe positively affects trichome production. The Sativa-like growth with long internodes fills the tent nicely, but it's clear that the "XXL" in the name "Triple Mint" refers to the buds, which are just big and hefty; even the trichome heads are huge. The smell is pungent in the nose, a bit skunky with a minty undertone, which will develop further during the drying phase.
