After a difficult start to the season—with early heat, a substrate behaving very differently from previous years and some unwanted garden visitors—she is finally showing a much more stable response. No fake hype and no overnight miracle: the change is visible in the active new growth, the developing lateral shoots and the way the canopy is beginning to occupy more space. 🌿 At around 98 cm, this Black Domina is not expressing herself as an extremely short or perfectly symmetrical bush. She still has a clearly dominant main leader, medium-to-long internodes in the upper section and several lateral branches developing at different heights. That is why I opened the structure with crossed bamboo supports. The goal was not to force her into an artificial shape, but to separate the branches, improve airflow and allow more sunlight to reach the inner shoots. The canopy is now more open, easier to inspect and better prepared for the next stage. 🎋☀️ The upper growth is still leading the race, but the lower and middle branches are no longer completely trapped beneath the fan leaves. Now I want to see whether those secondary shoots can close the distance before flowering begins. This is also my first season using BioBizz Light-Mix as the main substrate. Compared with previous years, the plants are smaller at this point of the season, but the soil is holding moisture for longer. They are not reaching that dramatic “full wilt mode” where every leaf drops from thirst. There is a real trade-off: less explosive growth so far, but more stable moisture inside the container. 💧 To reinforce the upper layer, I added Plagron Allmix and then applied an organic top-dressing made with 1,200 ml of worm humus and 200 ml of guano, at an approximate ratio of 6:1. The objective is to support the next stage gradually, not to force a guaranteed explosion. Now the plant gets the final vote. I will be watching the colour and speed of the new shoots, branch strength and the first clear signs of preflowering. ?🌱 Watering is applied progressively instead of pouring the entire volume at once. I begin with a smaller first pass to moisten the surface, allow the substrate to absorb it and then continue with the remaining water. This helps reduce rapid runoff when the upper layer becomes dry, although I still check the container during every watering. Visually, the foliage remains mostly green and functional. I do not see severe chlorosis, widespread necrosis, major wilting or an obvious active infestation in these photographs. A few leaves show very light pale speckling, so I am still inspecting the undersides and monitoring whether the marks progress. 🔍🍃 For now, this Black Domina looks stable, active and ready for the next checkpoint. The big question is no longer whether she has recovered from the difficult start. The question is what kind of structure she will build before flowering: will she continue stretching upward, or will those secondary branches begin stacking tighter and turn the middle of the plant into the real engine of the canopy? The substrate is also part of this season's experiment. It's my first year using BioBizz Light-Mix as the main medium. The plants are smaller than in other seasons at this time, but the substrate retains moisture for longer and they're not going into that dramatic "fainting mode" where all the leaves drop from lack of water. 💧🌱 To reinforce the top layer, I added Plagron Allmix and applied an organic top-dressing spread among the three plants: 1,200 ml of worm humus mixed with 200 ml of guano, approximately in a 6:1 ratio. 🦇 Now I'm observing the RESPONSE, not promising miracles. The signs that really matter to me are simple: That the new growth continues clean and green 🌿 That the side branches gain strength 💪 That no new heat burns appear 🔮 That clear signs of pre-flowering start to show at the nodes 🌸 Visually, I don't observe an advanced pest issue. In these photographs, there are no webs, colonies, or a widespread feeding pattern. Some damaged leaves could also have suffered from rubbing against the stakes, movement from the wind, or a previous visit from an insect. That's why I'm monitoring the evolution instead of spraying products on the plant without evidence. We don't spray out of panic here. 👀🦇 Right now, California Indica continues
