Revenge of the Strawberries

Hell_Money Aaaand we're off with this one as well! I guess I'm using the term germination as synonym for sprouting, but whatever - this Strawberry Cheesecake Auto seed germinated after about 15 hours or a bit less, as I put it between two wet cotton make-up removing pads at around 4 in the afternoon and checked it the morning after, around 10, and was germinated already. It took around 2 days for it to sprout. For comparison, the Strawberry Banana Auto I planted three weeks earlier germinated after around 30 hours or so, under similar temperatures and humidity conditions. Speaking about temperatures and humidity, the forecast for this week is a max of ~40°C for my region, so I'll have trouble keeping myself alive this week, let alone the girls. See ya at the end of the week, stay cool ❄️ Day after update - It is with deep sorrow that I announce the passing of my Strawberry Cheesecake seedling ? I'm sure it tried its best to brave the extreme temperatures of the hell pit that is my tent now, but in the end, it ended up as cooked as a soy sprout in a Chinese restaurant kitchen. Good thing it was a backup for the Strawberry Banana, which is doing just fine. Seed banks should probably start doing research and selection for heat-resistant strains - that would be interesting for future, climate-changed scenarios. Also, I'll probably need to invest in some form of air conditioning for the tent. As a wise man used to say on a popular TV show: "Eh, well... Whaddya gonna do?" 20 July 2026 Since I'm nothing but a stubborn bih, I'm trying my hand at another Strawberry Cheesecake seed. Temperatures are set to go down to normal summer averages, and I found a way to keep tent temperatures a few degrees down. The new seed was already open after less than 12 hours - I think these are the fastest-germinating seeds I've ever tried! It's now in its vase and we'll see how this one goes over the next week
