Germination

A large language model (LLM) assisted with transcription and editorial organization, while all observations, measurements, and cultivation decisions were documented during the grow itself. ────────── Introduction Lilac Diesel RBX2 is a photoperiod cultivar from ETHOS Genetics known for combining classic fuel-forward terpenes with dense resin production and vigorous vegetative growth. Plants typically exhibit strong lateral branching, moderate stretch after the transition to flower, and finish in approximately 8 to 9 weeks under a 12/12 lighting schedule. Aromas are commonly described as a blend of diesel, floral notes, citrus, and sweet berry. This plant also serves as a useful comparison against the Lilac Diesel Autoflower from ETHOS Genetics. Growing both versions concurrently provides an opportunity to observe differences in vigor, plant architecture, branching, flowering behavior, resin production, and overall performance while minimizing environmental variables. ────────── Germination & Early Seedling Weekly Summary Lilac Diesel Photoperiod was germinated on July 9 as part of a second wave of genetics added to the garden. The seed was kept between 80-85* F throughout germination. Germination was straightforward, and the seedling established successfully after transplanting into its final 3-gallon fabric pot. Early development has been healthy and proportional, with compact growth, good color, and the first true leaves already expanding. ────────── Environmental Summary Average Temperature: 74.0Β°F Average Relative Humidity: 69.7% Average VPD: 0.87 kPa ────────── Germination Method The seed was germinated using a simple paper towel method. It was placed between damp paper towels inside a sealed resealable plastic bag, which was then kept on a heat mat inside the clone tent. This provided a warm, humid environment that encouraged rapid germination while minimizing moisture loss. Once a healthy taproot had developed, the seed was transferred directly into its final 3-gallon fabric pot. Before planting, the soil was thoroughly watered to runoff to ensure even moisture throughout the container. Subsequent irrigation remained conservative, allowing the upper surface of the medium to dry slightly while maintaining moisture deeper in the root zone. During establishment, the seedling received light irrigations of approximately 75 mL whenever conditions warranted. ────────── Seedling Development The seedling emerged without difficulty and quickly established healthy cotyledons. The first set of serrated leaves followed shortly afterward and continues to expand with healthy color and symmetrical growth. Compared with the older autos in the tent, Lilac Diesel Photoperiod is naturally several days behind in development, but its overall structure has remained proportional throughout establishment. The stem is upright with minimal stretch, internodal spacing remains tight, and the developing canopy appears balanced. The plant has now entered the seedling stage with healthy establishment, making it a suitable baseline for the side-by-side comparison with the Lilac Diesel Autoflower as both plants progress through the remainder of the grow.
