GreenHobbit Week 0 – The Start of a New Adventure 🌱
While my Laughing Buddha starts its flowering phase up in the 120 × 120 tent, the next project is already kicking off in the heating cellar.
This time, I want to document three extraordinary autoflowering genetics independently. Each plant will have its own diary so that its development can be tracked individually week by week.
The second strain to kick off is the Auto Zamaldelica from ACE Seeds.
Why this strain in particular?
The Zamaldelica is one of the most well-known genetics from ACE Seeds and has fascinated me for a long time. Its sativa-dominant background and its reputation for exceptional aromas and growth patterns have piqued my curiosity.
I’m especially looking forward to getting to know its natural character and observing how much of its exotic heritage shows up in the autoflowering version.
The Setup
The three autos are growing together in a 70 × 70 cm tent in the heating cellar.
For the seedling phase, I’m using a Secret Jardin 26 W. With the help of a PPFD sensor, I’ve measured the lamp precisely for the first time and set it to a distance of 25 cm. This way, the seedlings receive around 160 µmol/m²/s – ideal for a healthy and compact start.
Currently, the plant is growing in a 0.5-liter pot. After the first few days, it will move into a 15-liter fabric pot.
Germination
The germination of the Zamaldelica also went smoothly.
After pre-soaking, the taproot quickly appeared, and shortly after, it broke through the soil surface as the second plant. A relaxed and straightforward start.
Current Status
The seed leaves are starting to unfold, and the plant looks healthy.
Now the most exciting phase begins. I’m curious to see which traits of the Zamaldelica will show up in early growth and how it will develop compared to the other two genetics.

GreenHobbit 🌱 Auto Zamaldelica – Week 1
A week full of small steps – and it's these that make the difference in the end.
The Zamaldelica was the last of the three seeds to sprout. While Malawi and Frosty’s went straight into the soil right after the water bath, Zamaldelica got to spend an extra day on the paper towel. Still, she caught up surprisingly quickly.
She’s now in a 15-liter final pot and is developing without any issues. The new lighting seems to suit her well. After the lamp change, she’s growing nice and compact, channeling her energy continuously into the leaves instead of stretching out.
Even now, her slightly narrower leaves stand out. Whether this is already the influence of the tropical Zamaldelica genetics or just youthful growth remains to be seen. One thing is for sure: she’s developing steadily, evenly, and looks exceptionally healthy.
ACE Seeds is known for exceptional Sativas – and I’m curious to see when she’ll kick into her famous growth spurt.

GreenHobbit 🌴 Auto Zamaldelica – Week 2
The Auto Zamaldelica has also made a nice development step this week. While it initially seemed rather inconspicuous, you can increasingly recognize its sativa-dominant character.
The leaves are getting a bit narrower with each new pair, and the growth appears a bit more open than with the Malawi. Nevertheless, it remains compact and is developing with short internodes, which shows that the light intensity is currently very suitable.
The fresh growth is a vibrant green, and the side shoots are already starting to form at the first nodes. This is exactly the development I hoped for from a Zamaldelica. It looks elegant, healthy, and very vigorous.
I’m curious to see how strongly the Sativa influence will show in the coming weeks. Right now, it’s developing absolutely according to plan.

GreenHobbit Auto Zamaldelica — Week 3
Week 3 – More and more Sativa character
The Auto Zamaldelica has also made a significant leap forward in its third week.
It continues to develop somewhat differently than the Malawi × Northern Lights. Its structure appears more open and elegant, while it has developed significantly more side branches over the course of the week. Especially towards the end of the week, this results in an increasingly bushy and surprisingly even crown.
The plant shows a healthy light to medium green leaf color and vigorous fresh growth. No noticeable signs of deficiency or over-fertilization are evident.
After the slight light reaction from the previous week, the distance to the SE3000 was adjusted. Since then, no further damage has occurred, and the new growth looks clean.
The Zamaldelica was also fed with Green House Feeding as planned towards the end of the week. The fertilization was accepted without any issues.
In the meantime, its structure is also slowly beginning to change. The upper internodes are stretching apart, and several side branches are increasingly growing upwards. The transition into pre-flowering seems to be imminent.
So far, it is growing more compact than I would have expected from this genetics. I'm very curious to see if this will change significantly with the upcoming stretch and if it will really showcase its exotic Sativa character now.

GreenHobbit Auto Zamaldelica — Week 4
If the Malawi is stretching this week, then the Zamaldelica is all about one word:
Bush ball. 😂
I really like its development at the moment. While the Malawi is clearly growing taller, the Zamaldelica is building a compact, extremely branched crown. Numerous shoot tips are already at a similar height, forming almost a closed green hemisphere from above.
To balance the different growth heights, it initially stood on a platform about 10 cm high. However, by the end of the week, the position in the tent was also changed: the Zamaldelica moved from the front right to the back center, swapping places with the Freak.
It was then turned a bit so that its many shoots can grow into free areas of the tent and not unnecessarily end up against the walls. The result is particularly visible from above: together with Malawi and Freak, despite the completely different growth forms, an astonishingly even leaf canopy is now forming.
The SE3000 is now running at about 45% with a distance of 40 cm. The new exhaust is slowly pushing the humidity down from the previous veg area. After about two hours of fan operation, the humidity was already around 62% rF; later measurements were around 65% at 25.1 °C.
When it comes to watering, it is now showing a significantly higher consumption than the Freak. Four days after the last 1.5 liters, the pot is much lighter.
Conclusion Week 4:
The Zamaldelica is currently developing into a really nice compact bush. Instead of letting individual shoots take off, it spreads its energy across many tips, thus covering an astonishing amount of area. If it carries this structure into the flowering stage, it could become one hell of an interesting crown. 🌳😏

GreenHobbit Auto Zamaldelica – Week 5
This update is a bit late due to our kitchen renovation. But it seems the Zamaldelica has used the extra days to finally show which direction it wants to go: up. 😂
The base it was standing on at first has completely disappeared. It definitely doesn't need that anymore. Currently about 76 cm tall, it has become the tallest plant in the tent and has transformed from its initially compact, bushy growth into a noticeably slimmer Sativa.
The flowering is also visibly progressing. On the long stems, there are now numerous small flower clusters with many fresh white pistils. The buds still look relatively airy and spaced out, but the actual flower formation is slowly beginning.
Just like with the Malawi, it also shows slightly yellow leaf tips. For me, this is more of an indication that I've already reached its comfort zone with nutrient supply, rather than a reason to add more fertilizer. So the motto for now remains: observe and don't overreact.
I find the difference to the Malawi particularly exciting. Although both clearly show their Sativa side, the Zamaldelica is developing its own structure and is definitely the one conquering the height in the tent.

GreenHobbit Auto Zamaldelica – Week 6
The Zamaldelica has also made great progress in week 6.
The stretch seems to be calming down, and the energy is increasingly moving into the flowers. Beautiful flower clusters with many fresh white pistils are now forming along the long, slender stems.
I really like its structure visually. Very open, very sativa-like, and with many well-lit bud sites.
However, it also showed the same problem as the Malawi: the entire plant became increasingly light green.
Since I'm familiar with this pattern from several grows using Green House Bio Feeding, I didn't want to wait until the plant turned completely yellow this time.
So, the Zamaldelica got:
20 ml Hesi Bloom Complex in 4.5 liters of water.
Since then, I actually have the impression that a bit more color has returned to the leaves. I don't want to make a final judgment after just a few days, but at least it seems that the development is currently going in the right direction.
The flowers themselves haven't been impressed by all this and continue to visibly grow.
Sometimes "back to the roots" really isn't a bad idea. 😅

GreenHobbit Week 7 – Auto Zamaldelica
The Zami is currently the tallest of the three at 83 cm – although with 81 / 83 / 81 cm, you could say that the three have perfectly met at the same height now. 😂
I really like the flower structure of the Zamaldelica at the moment. It definitely leans towards the Sativa side, but it’s developing its flowers a bit more compactly than the Malawi. Especially the main bud is slowly starting to grow into a really nice long cola.
It’s also still carrying the issues from the past weeks quite visibly. The leaves are very light, and especially the older leaves show that the nutrition hasn’t been optimal in between. Nevertheless, it continues to produce flowers diligently and a ton of fresh white stigmas.
After my little detour with the Green House Feeding, I’m officially back to the roots with Hesi. 😅 By the end of the week, the Zami also got her share of the 5-l mix with CalMag, Bloom Complex, and Phosphor Plus.
SE3000: 80%, about 40 cm distance. Watering was done about every two days with around 1.66 l per plant.
Visually still far from finished – and I’m extremely curious about the taste and effect of this lady.
