Wondering if plant will be ready for harvest in 2-3 weeks. She keeps growing and there's not much room left towards the top of the tent.

Hey there Canibiz! They look to need 3-4 weeks, but the best and only sure way to tell when its time to harvest is by looking at the Trichomes of the plant to see their coloration. The color process goes Clear to Cloudy to Amber the older they get. You want to harvest when the majority of your Trichomes are in that Cloudy stage of age. You can get a cheap microscope off of amazon or try to use one you already have. Other than that you will be just guesstimating and trying your best to harvest at the right time based on the individual strain. If you need space at the top of your tent you should try Low stress training the canopy by tying it down carefully so its even and has more space to grow. Best of luck! 😎

Any thoughts as to whether plants will be ready for harvest in 1-2 weeks? Currently on week 9, day 1.

Hey there, great question ! There are several methods that folks use to guesstimate when they should harvest but basically none of them work because different genetics have different traits and different phenotype have different traits even within a strain. so some folks say wait until you have 30/40 red pistils, but you cant really tell this way. My point being some genetics will have loads of red hairs and still not be ready, others will mature in stages, etc... The other technique people use is simple timing, the breeder said 10 weeks so i chop after ten weeks, but usually you want to slap on a few more weeks on that in my experience. What you're left with is looking at the trychomes, only looking at the trychomes can you find if the plant is actually ready and start timing it. So you need something 40X magnification (i bought a pocket microscope on amazon for $1.79 lol) to 60X and just look at the trichomes to see if they're ready, i'm looking for all cloudy few ambers, but most folks look for a "balanced high" with around 20% amber trychomes... it's all a matter of taste, but in my opinion it's better to have full control and a good understanding so the choice is yours to make. Hope this helps growmie ! 🚀

@Canibiz, Hi mate from what I can gather from what you are saying, is that they flush after 6 weeks of flowering not total time from seed germination. So once your BUDS are 6 weeks old you can begin a flush if thats what you want to do. I am still on the fence regarding flushing, one mob says its a must to make your weed taste and burn better and the other mob say it starves the plant during the time it can really bulk up, so it's a contentious issue that you will need to decide which is best for you . Hope this helps somewhat 😎

Also... When should I switch from current nutes and start flushing? Per AN, I should stop nutes after week 6 and start flushing till week 8. But this is the start of week 7 for me and evidently I still have 4-6 weeks before I can harvest.

@Canibiz, in soil, what i personally try to do is time it so i get a three week plain water no run off flush , but that's pretty tough to do, so if you're using additives like a flushing agent, enzymes or acids then just water no nutes no run off with just that for 7 to 10 days, and you'll be golden. Hope I answered your question ! anything else you need just let me know 👊
