Budoken Excited to start another project, this time with Auto AK47 from Serious Seeds. Their original AK47 is something that I've wanted to try since early 2000's. Let's hope this autoflower version comes out well (don't know how much this actually has in common with the original AK47 line.) Few changes I'm making compared to last run: - I use an eazy plug and block for the plant, just want to test something other than rockwool - I'll probably try fimming to get a better shape for the plant and use plant trainers to guide branches further. - I'll do heavier pruning to avoid overcrowding and aim for even good sized colas and not a dense jungle.

Budoken Seedling got a bit lanky while it was in the propagator by the window initially. I had the block elevated so that the roots get air pruned. I could have waited for few days more but decided to insert it to the nft already once few of the first roots died back and new ones emerged. Reservoir is running with 1/4 strength aqua vega with some rhizotonic, and silver bullet to keep the system clean. Light is at 25% power but close to the plant, around 300 ppfd, I will start increasing intensity once the plant gets properly started in the nft system.

Budoken Well, this week didn't go as planned. Transplanting the cube straight to the tray made it too wet for the little roots she had. Should have waited a little longer. I added small plastic risers to raise the cube above the nutrient film to let it dry and get more oxygen. That perked up the plant some but it still didn't seem too happy: twisting leaves and some spots appearing at the lowest leaves. By chance I happened to buy a new combi ph/ec meter only to find out that solution ph that I thought being 5.9 was actually 4.4! The old ph meter had dried out since last use and I believe I didn't soak it long enough before calibrating resulting in wrong readings. Now that all this is sorted, the growth has been really good for last 3 days and new roots are pushing out rapidly. I'm expecting explosive growth in the upcoming weeks. I gave up on the idea of fiming or topping because of the problems this week. Instead, I'll experiment with cutting of the top fan leaves to slow down top shoot growth and exposing the lower branches better. I will also do the usual lst to shape the plant when it grows some more.

Budoken Still fighting with low ph issues, it had dropped way too low after I added some more Canna Vega and Rhizotonic, which is quite acidic. From the side pic you can see the damages in the lower leaves. I also snapped the main stem when trying to bend it but seems like I managed to save it with duct tape. Now it's actually at a nice angle 😅 I removed few selected leaves from the middle to open it up better. Last week I cut the top fan leaves off twice and it made the side branches catch up surprisingly well. I was quite worried with growth this week but now that I look last week's pics, it's not that bad. I just need to keep monitoring the nute solution closely and keep the environment as optimal as I can. The led is now further up and at 50% power, around 600 ppfd.

Budoken Nice growth this week. I inserted three LST training clips to few branches but they were so tight that after being away for few days, they were already squeezing the thickening branches. I ended up snapping all of them while removing the clips, so plant got the topping after all. Nice bushy structure now, only did some light leaf removal from the center of the canopy and from the bottom. I hope the plant starts flowering soon, cant see any preflowers yet. I also got inspired by basementganja's awesome timelapse videos and decided to give it a try myself ;)

Budoken We're in flower This week the plant has been transitioning into flower with a big stretch. I kept the same Aqua Vega solution running since there's was plenty of it in the reservoir, only added little more Vega A&B and CalMag. The ph and ec started to drop towards the end of the week, so today it was time to mix up a fresh batch of Aqua Flores solution and do a full res change. I'm really happy with the progression so far, I added the scrog netting and next week I will be focusing on spreading the growth further to achieve proper spacing. Also somewhat regular defoliation is needed to let smaller branches reach the light and the canopy level. I'll wait until most of the stretch is done and will then do a more aggressive pruning to discard branches that won't reach the top.
