RQS Special Queen 1 Auto (no LST)

Thirsty_Grower Week 3 - Despite the fact that from the 4th week onwards the plant was grown using only natural light (on the windowsill), initially I supplemented it with an artificial grow lamp (300-400 PPFD) placed next to the Northern Light Auto, because direct sunlight with a PPFD of 900–1000 was too intense for such a young plant.

Thirsty_Grower Week 7 - first watering with nitruents. 29.07.26 - First watering with nutrients: 1.5 g of Hybrids added to 5 L of water (Total EC = 930 µS/cm), with runoff. 03.08.26 - Watering with plain tap water. Small spots have also appeared on the leaves, resembling a CalMag deficiency. This time, before starting the grow, I mixed approximately 3 tablespoons of dolomite lime into the soil, but apparently, it wasn’t enough. Do you think it’s time to start adding Biobizz CalMag?

Thirsty_Grower We moved it outside! There still wasn’t enough sunlight on the windowsill, so I moved the plant to my garden. 09.08 - 5g CalMag with 5L water. Runoff: pH5,8, EC 1250 14.08 - 2,5g Hybrids with 5L water (pH6,7, EC 1200 - the pH and EC of the solution, not runoff!).

Thirsty_Grower I’ve noticed some amber-colored trichomes. It could be due to light stress: "Excessive heat or intense light can cause cannabis trichomes to turn amber prematurely, signaling the degradation of THC into CBN long before the actual flower is ripe". So there may still be some time before harvest for the buds to swell a little more. 11.09 - last watering with nutrients: 5g Hybrids + 4,25g PK with 5L water.

Thirsty_Grower Despite the fact that amber trichomes have already started to appear on the sugar leaves, they are still practically absent inside the calyxes, and there are even some clear trichomes present. This suggests that I still have a little time left to do the final flush, watering with approximately 10 liters of clean water (done on 15.09).

Thirsty_Grower It’s been approximately 3–5 days since the last flush, when I watered with around 10 liters of clean water. I would have liked to do another flush, but it has already gotten quite cold outside, there’s very little sunlight, and even after 10 days, the soil still hasn’t dried out completely. So I don’t think I’ll be watering it again. The leaves have started yellowing quite rapidly, and I helped the plant shed them. The trichomes inside the calyxes look good - almost all of them are milky, with around 10–20% still clear. There have been quite a lot of amber trichomes on the outer parts of the buds for quite some time now. Of course, I could let it go a little longer... BUT since the end of August, after two weeks of rain, unfortunately the buds have started developing mold. At first, I simply removed the affected parts of the buds, thinking that this would prevent the mold from spreading. Unfortunately, that didn’t help. So I started removing the affected buds entirely, hoping to save the rest of the plant. In total, I had to remove five buds, including the main top bud (as you’ve probably already noticed from its absence in the photos). I was able to save roughly 85-90% of the material from each one, ending up with approximately 7–9 grams of dried material. The weight is only an estimate, since I sampled some of it 😉 I don’t know whether it’s because of the strain or the extreme outdoor conditions (scorching sun, strong winds, and heavy rain), but compared to Royal Dwarf and Northern Light, these buds are INSANELY frosty. Like, really, really frosty.😃 The sugar-like trichome coverage is extremely pronounced - my hands get sticky and tacky just from lightly touching them. The difference compared to my other two strains is very noticeable. It has also affected the effects! I haven’t tried my homegrown Northern Light yet, as it’s still behind its sister in development. But compared to Royal Dwarf, Special Queen #1 is noticeably more potent. However, during the last inspection, I found that new areas of mold were still appearing on the buds. I removed another two buds where the mold had only just started to develop. At that point, I realized that I couldn’t wait any longer, and there was really no point in doing so. The plant is practically in ideal condition for harvest, so I’ll be cutting it down within the next few days.
