After emerging from the substrate roughly 20 hours after planting, the seedling continued to develop normally. The first true leaves expanded well, and the plant reached a height of 4 cm by the end of the week. The root development also progressed quickly. The taproot was already visible at the bottom of the transparent cup on Day 4, followed by roots appearing along the sides later in the week. Apart from a short reaction to watering from both the top and bottom on Day6, Blue Waffle remained healthy and recovered within a day. By the end of the week, the upper layer of the substrate had dried while some moisture was still present deeper down. Since the cup still had noticeable weight, watering was delayed rather than keeping the substrate constantly wet.
