xTaps Welcome to my new grow diary! This run is super special: The seeds are a custom cross from a friend’s breeding project – Dizcoball OG is a completely unique strain that you can't buy anywhere on the market.
The goal of this run is a small-scale DWC phenohunt to preserve the ultimate keeper mother plant from these one-of-a-kind genetics.
Genetics:
Strain: Dizcoball OG (Shining Silver Haze × Zkittlez ) – Regulars (Custom / One-off Cross)
Lineage: RQS (Father) × Craft Breeder (Mother)
🛠️ System & Setup:
System: DIY DWC (Deep Water Culture)
Pots: 4× 13 cm round pond basket net pots
Medium: Clay pebbles & rockwool
The Plan: Pop 4 reg seeds, sex them in DWC, take backup cuttings of all females in the DIY cloner, and select the final keeper mom after harvest.
🌱 UPDATE | Day 1: 100% Germination & Media Prep!
Germination: 4/4 Dizcoball OG seeds popped! The taproots look strong and healthy.
Current Status:
Rockwool is currently in a quick-buffer soak (pH 5.5).
Clay pebbles have been washed/rinsed and will get their full buffer soak tomorrow.
Next Step: Potting the taproots carefully into the rockwool blocks today while finishing up the media prep!
🌱 UPDATE | DWC Lid Prepared & Net Baskets Placed!
Lid & Baskets: Cutouts on the reservoir lid are complete and fitted for the 4 pond baskets.
Plant Status:
3 baskets are set up with rockwool cubes and buffered clay pebbles – the Dizcoball OG seedlings are looking healthy with their first cotyledons out!
1 pre-buffered rockwool cube is waiting on stand-by (seed #4 / chilli backup).
Setup & Lighting: Mars Hydro Tent (70×70×160 cm) | SANSI 45W LED at 18/6 (05:00 – 23:00). DWC system goes live as soon as the roots pop out from the bottom!
🌱 UPDATE | Sept 15 – First Nutrients Added!
Development: The roots are reaching out – time to introduce the first mild feed into the system.
Nutrition: Added the first light dose of 5ml Plant Mechanics Full Spec Mini Run Grow A & B to the reservoir.
Status: Dialing in and monitoring pH (target 5.4–6.5) to ensure optimal nutrient absorption as veg growth picks up!
