Miketama Soil Preparation & Organic Amending (20L Fabric Pots)
Recycled Substrate Base: Reconditioned 15L of used light-mix soil per pot.
Nutrient Dry Mix: Thoroughly mixed 110g of Monster Bud Mix, 40ml of Startrex, 20g of Bat Guano, 3g of Mycorrhiza, and 1–2 handfuls of fresh worm castings (humus) into the lower 15L substrate layer.
Slow-Release Core: Placed 1 BioTab per pot at a depth of 10cm within the lower layer, positioned well away from the central stem.
Biological Activation (Lower Layer): Activated the microflora in the old substrate using a solution of Bactrex and Orgatrex, bringing soil moisture to approximately 25% Water Holding Capacity.
Fresh Top Layer Buffer: Covered the amended base with 5L of fresh, unamended Light-Mix soil to create a safe zone for early growth.
Planting Hole & Seedling Zone: Added 3g of Mycotrex directly into the seeding hole and lightly watered the top layer with a diluted Bactrex and Orgatrex solution for instant, safe mycorrhizal colonization.
Irrigation & Nutrient Management Strategy
Base Regime: Water-only routine using decanted tap water for standard daily watering.
Miketama Auto Opium
Explosive Stretch: Surged from 35 cm to 80 cm in just 10 days (+4.5 cm/day).
Lighting: Sitting at ~400 PPFD on a 22/2 schedule (~31.7 DLI), keeping transpiration manageable after her height surge.
Canopy Training:
Applied apical bending to break apical dominance, force redistribution of auxins, and level out the canopy.
Used Reverse LST (inward bending) to direct side branches inward, building a space-saving vertical "tower" structure.
Lollipopping: Stripped lower popcorn bud sites and weak growth from the lower third to maximize airflow around the base and direct all energy to the main colas.
Miketama The Opium seems to really have an edge when it comes to resin production compared to the tent mates, the trichome heads are already very large for day 54 (latest photos)
Having already grown its "cousins" purple and black, I had to try the original version which in my case has proven to be more compact and with a more manageable height.
Thanks for stopping by here :)
@Philhsy, I'm also growing this one after growing the black version and the purple one, definitely among my favorite plants. The curiosity to try this one now that you told me it's the best makes me even more curious :) thanks for stopping by"
@Miketama, hehe i believe you will like it if you liked the ones that came after, i feel it has a more hashy flowery taste and a bit more punch to it ✌️ best of luck (extractions on it are incredible if youre into that
@Philhsy, unlike the others, this one seems to cover even the sugar leaves in resin, so I totally believe you about the extractions! Best of luck to you too with your grow! ✌️
