It's 7 weeks since germination and nice to see the start of some flowers. This is my first ever crop and the green house smells sooo nice!

Flowers are continuing to develop. Nice fragrance. Started to top-dress soil with Backcountry Blend Boost at recommendation of local hydro shop. Considering to stake plants soon to avoid the possibility of them getting too top heavy - would be a nice problem to have!

It's bizarre how tall one of the four plants is getting. The other three are short - about 60 cm but the one is a good 30 cm taller. Fewer buds too. The entire plant just looks like a different strain. If it is, then I hope it's feminized - I don't want to have everything go to seed!

Flowers are filling out. The buds are getting fat and starting to fill out the empty spaces. I took a few large leaves off that seemed to be shading the lower branches. Not sure how many to take off but they look much better now. Hands were sticky when I was done. The tall spindly plant is now 125cm or over 48 inches. To be honest, it's . Its so different and almost twice as tall. My gut says it's a different variety but who knows? Maybe it's recessive genes. Regardless it's nice to have variety. I have heard of seed mix ups before but I am not complaining; it will be fun to see if the flowers are much different when finished.

How do you tell when the flowers are ready to harvest? Is there some sign like does the plant lose vigor or start to die?

The only reliable way to tell when to harvest is to look at your trichomes through a magnifying glass. Clear= not ready. cloudy= reaching maximum thc levels. Amber= the thc is starting to convert to CBD and other less desirable chemicals. The plant will slow down growth and you will notice the little buds swelling up. The hairs will start to die off. It is a good idea to start monitoring your trichomes when you have about 50% brown pistils(hairs) she will be close then. Good luck

Pretty happy with progress on the flowering. No idea how much longer it will take but I ran out of fertilizer. Will head to the local hydro store to pick some more up today. The large spindly plant is still growing. It's about twice as tall as the others and nowhere near as far along with the flowering - at least the buds are still much smaller. No idea what variety - a mystery plant!

Just updated with detail pics of the buds from my DSLR. Trying to understand when they will be ready to harvest. No pics of the lanky girl this week. She continues to grow in height and definitely in weight. The other three Auto Critical CBD I think are done fattening up - I don't see any further growth in bud size. The smell great. Have been flushing for about a week and I think the trichomes are just starting to turn cloudy (I think). The hairs on the buds are maybe 25-30% brown. I think I'm a week or so close from harvest!

Drama with the last week. Was ready to harvest due to some major discolouration on the leaves of my favourite plant. I think she's still good. The three are getting yellow now and are less fragrant. Trichomes are still sparkly and the calyxes are still developing. I'm thinking another week to harvest. Lanky girl is still a mystery. She's 130cm now and still filling out. I added the blossom boost to her soil in hopes of speeding up bud development. Will see.

I had 4-5 seeds pop with one turning out to be something completely different; a sativa dominant variety it looks like. It is about twice as tall as the others with long branches and skinny buds - at least for now. It is maturing very slowly and the buds are starting to fill out. The harvest was great. I could hardly believe my eyes when I calculated about 170g from 3 plants! I have a bunch more in a variety of stages, but this was a very fun and exciting learning experience. The best part is I get some delicious high quality bud to smoke at the end. So much more fun than kale or carrots!
