deFharo Welcome, marijuana growers! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 I'm starting a new growing season, I'm going to grow six plants in my grow tent... let's go! 😁 This time I've germinated a seed of Caribbean Queen from Humboldt Seeds Company. I put the seed in a glass with hot water, kept it there for 36 hours, and it germinated. Then I placed it between damp cotton, waited another 12 hours before transferring the seed to a small pot with an elevated bottom and dome. I fit 3 pots to elevate the bottom; this technique helps to get many vertical roots, guided by gravity. I prepared a light substrate made of peat and coconut fiber, and added some worm humus. Until two days ago, I had the small pot in the filtered light of a window and sleeping at night. When the first two leaves started to grow, I put this seedling under the light of two LED panels, one with white light at 7700K and another blue at 450nm. For now, light 24 hours a day... 😁 UNTIL NEXT TIME. CHEERS AND GREETINGS TO EVERYONE! ================================ Info on the Caribbean Queen strain from Humboldt Seed Company https://humboldtseedcompany.com/caribbean-queen-feminized-seeds/ "A true landrace variety 'Pure Sativa' that offers an electrifying, stimulating, and creative experience." deFharo Welcome, marijuana growers! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 It's the second week since the seed germinated, and the growth this week has been very vigorous. I will surely transplant it to its final pot next week. The seedling shows symmetrical growth, developing its third set of true leaves. The edges of the leaves and the leaves themselves are uniform; it's clear that this is a very stable strain. The roots are bursting out from the base, and the small pots with elevated bottoms cause a great vertical expansion of the roots, guided by gravity and the moisture I keep in the tray. I keep the plants under 24 hours of light; during the day, the seedlings live behind a window, absorbing the unmatched color spectrum of the sun. When day gives way to night, I move the seedlings into the grow tent and light them with two LED panels, one with 7700K white light and another with 450nm blue light. Total consumption is 66w. 😁 UNTIL NEXT TIME. deFharo Welcome, marijuana growers! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 - Third week since the seed germinated. Five days ago, at 16 days after germination, I transplanted to the final pot. A classic 11-liter pot with side aeration and an elevated base. So far, it was a seedling. From now on, the big game begins. The game of roots, space, soil, creating future perspectives. ••• 3M: THE OLD RECIPE: The substrate remains true to the usual philosophy: Organic Matter. Minerals. Microbiology. The three legs of the little monster. Nothing particularly sophisticated. A mix designed for the roots to find food, structure, minerals, and, above all, a living community to do business with. Because a good plant doesn’t live solely on what I give it. It also lives on everything that happens below. And this season, I want to pay even more attention to that. I’m going to experiment with new watering strategies aimed at promoting greater root expansion before entering the flowering stage. The idea is simple: to give the roots reasons to explore. To occupy. To search. To build a good underground architecture before the plant has to completely change strategy and dedicate its efforts to the flowers. The visible garden is beautiful. But the real show starts beneath the pot. 💡 PLANTS ALSO HAVE A SCHEDULE There have also been changes in the lighting. The cheap Chinese panels that have accompanied the little ones during these first days have been temporarily retired. In their place, I’ve installed a blue COB with a lens and activated one of my canopy lamps at 60%. But it’s not all about more light. I’ve also reduced the photoperiod by two hours. We’re now at: 22/02 hours. Because these ladies need to sleep. Little by little, I’ll be increasing the light intensity and/or adding more lamps, while gradually reducing the hours of light. The goal will be to reach 20/04 hours during the vegetative phase, until the moment of definitively switching to the flowering schedule. There’s no rush. The garden has just begun. And this grower, as always, tries to convince everyone that I have a perfectly organized plan. I don’t. I have experience and I observe. I have some ideas. But at any moment, my plants can decide that all those ideas are completely irrelevant. So the big game begins. - Roots against gravity. - Plants against grower. - Genetics against expectations. And, as the impartial referee of this whole matter, nature. I just put the pots down. They do the rest. 🌱🔺 😁 UNTIL NEXT TIME. deFharo Welcome, marijuana growers! 🖐️ 👨‍🌾 - Fourth week since the seed germinated, twelve days since transplanting, and five days since I made a cut to the apex. The plant is completely out of control, growing and establishing itself with a lot of vigor; I think I’m dealing with a wild sativa that needs to be tamed firmly. This plant scares me. 😁 A couple of days ago, I added a lamp to the canopy (COB 450nm - 50w), the plants are widening, and I don’t want any shadows. Also, with the help of the blue lights, I manage to have shorter internodes and wider leaves, while the roots roam freely through the substrate. As I’ve been doing in the last two seasons during the vegetative growth stage, I don’t apply any of my soluble Bio fertilizers in the watering, just Activated Mountain Microorganisms (MMA) with a bit of molasses to give them energy, so they can spread and work hard to make the nutrients and minerals present in the substrate assimilable for the plant. Additionally, this week, two of the most important actions at the start of the season: I made an apical cut and added a thick layer of mulch. 👑 A REAL HISTORY 24 days after germination, I made an apical cut to this and two other plants. The three most vigorous plants in the garden have been summoned today. They didn’t know why. I did. They were growing wonderfully. Healthy. Lush. With strong stems. Developing their nodes with an insulting tranquility. And precisely because of that... I cut off their heads. Above the fifth node. That’s how power works. The weak are not punished. No. The one who stands out is watched. The one who grows too much. The one who starts to cast shadows. The one who threatens to become something that escapes our control. And I, who until yesterday was simply the gardener, today have proclaimed myself King of this Rebel Garden. A title that, by the way, no one has granted me. I took the scissors. I selected the three most vigorous plants. And... bam! Head off. 😈 A botanical coup executed with absolute efficiency. They probably still don’t understand anything. It seemed like everything was going well. And suddenly, the supreme power appears with scissors and decides that maybe they are growing too well. The history of humanity is full of similar examples. Those who stand out often attract the attention of those in power. And when the one in power has scissors... Well. We know how the story ends. Then, naturally, comes my propaganda. Because no regime can survive solely on amputations. A future must be offered. So I promised them more branches. More flowers. More buds. Fatter buds. More production. More beauty. More of everything. A true revolution of abundance. 🤯 And they looked at me. Or at least that’s what I want to imagine. Probably thinking: “And who the hell told you we wanted that?” Because there lies the little tragedy of this whole matter. I didn’t even ask them. I decided for them. I assumed that a vigorous plant wants to branch out more. That it wants to produce more flowers. That it wants to become a structure perfectly designed according to my criteria. And maybe yes. Or maybe it just wanted to keep growing upwards. We’ll never know. 🌱 The Promise Now all that’s left is to wait. Maybe the three will respond as I hope. Maybe they will develop new branches. Maybe they will end up forming a wider, more balanced, more productive structure. Maybe the buds will be more numerous and larger. Maybe my little theory will work. And if it works, of course, I’ll say that everything was perfectly calculated. And if it doesn’t work... Well. The blame will be on the genetics. Or the climate. Or Mercury. A King can never take full responsibility. 😁 But for now, I prefer to think that what I took from the top will return multiplied elsewhere. More branches. More flowers. More life. 🌹🌹🌹 A kind of pact that no one has signed. I cut. They respond. I promise. They wait. And in the meantime, the King contemplates his three decapitated subjects and convinces himself that everything is part of a grand plan. Although, if we’re honest... I’m not an example of anything. I’m just a grower with scissors, too much confidence, and a dangerous hobby of experimenting. 😉 Today, I got drunk, for a moment, with supreme power. I cut off the heads of those who stood out the most. And then I promised them a wonderful future. Without the slightest guarantee of being able to fulfill it. •••THE MULCH CEREMONY 🙏 After the second watering, when the substrate has dropped enough, one of the most important moments of the cycle arrives: the placement of the Sacred Mulch. It’s not just a layer of organic matter. It’s the result of seven years of cultivation: leaves, stems, roots, and plant remains from previous generations, along with the residues of the amendments that have passed through the soil. All of this has been decomposed, transformed, and colonized by a microbiology that has been adapting to the conditions of this small ecosystem for years. Today, a part of that memory returns to the four pots. The idea is simple: to imitate the forest inside a pot. In a forest, no one removes the leaves when they fall, no one cleans the branches, and no one fertilizes each tree from above. Organic matter falls, accumulates, transforms, and slowly returns to the soil. That’s the Sacred Mulch: closing the cycle. A layer of partially decomposed organic matter that protects the surface, retains moisture, progressively feeds the microbiology, and returns to the substrate part of what the plants themselves produced. Seven years of garden turned into a few centimeters of forest. 😁 UNTIL NEXT TIME.
