Erster Hydroponic Anbau

GrowingTheZaza The first real grow week is over! I've already learned a lot with this DWC system. The first problem I didn't fix right away was the pH level; I used too little phosphoric acid to lower it...🤦🏽‍♂️ That's why it was definitely at a pH of 7.1 for 3 days. I then gradually lowered it to 5.7. In fact, the plants didn't seem to mind at all; the EC level didn't need any adjustments since 1.4 is actually quite okay. A bit higher would be better, but I wanted to interfere with the water as little as possible. The plant itself took a long time at first to develop the first pair of leaves, but once it did, it's been making massive leaps every day since then, and the roots are getting bigger and sturdier; I've never experienced that with soil. It's also very interesting to see how differently the roots are developing in both plants. The brownish color of the roots worried me, but the slight discoloration is from the Rhizotonic, so there's no reason to panic. It's still the first water in the bucket and will stay until Wednesday or so. I wanted to change it earlier, but a colleague advised me to leave it as long as the plants feel comfortable in it. However, since I want to improve the water parameters a bit, I will definitely change and adjust it soon. Now to my biggest enemy and problem, like with every grow unfortunately, and that is the heat!? I unfortunately live in the attic, and heat is unavoidable, so I leave the tent open during the day cycle to lower it a bit, but 28 degrees is still too much, and I can't think of a good solution to lower the temperature, and hanging the exhaust hose out the window is unfortunately not an option. I also didn't expect the weather to be so nice and partly over 20 degrees. In any case, the tape insulation from the system helps keep the water relatively cool, so the plants aren't under too much stress, although you can see slight heat stress from the slightly tense wavy leaves. It annoys me, but I have to get through it... In any case, I'm still curious to see how the plant behaves and if I'm doing everything right. It's always nice to see how plants develop and how differently they grow!🙏🏽

GrowingTheZaza So the 2 weeks are over! I've learned a lot again and made a ton of mistakes...? But that's exactly what this grow is for, to learn. First off, the heat issues have disappeared on their own as the weather is slowly getting cooler, which also cools down the room in my apartment. One plant was topped at the beginning of the week since it was already at the 5 leaf node. I also changed the water for this plant (the left one) because the roots seemed a bit odd to me. 🤔 This time I did everything right before changing the water; the pH and EC values were perfectly adjusted and haven't changed since, which is perfect. Now let's talk about my worry plant, the right one. It has had more heat issues than the other and it's very visible; it's still in the recovery phase but was actually topped just a day ago. Unfortunately, I messed up adjusting the pH value and it was at 4.2 for half a day, which was obviously a fatal mistake. I then completely changed the water right away. But the roots still worry me a bit; I'm afraid they might rot, but they don't smell weird, so I'm just letting the plant do its thing and we'll see what happens. It's definitely growing very bushy! 🙏🏼 New investments have also been made since I want to take my grow to a new level. 🏼 I got new fans because both Mars Hydro fans had their oscillation function broken. I decided on Ac Infinity; they're quite expensive fans but top quality, and I'm super satisfied so far. Another investment was the Sanlight Bluetooth dimmers, which I haven't installed yet because I'm currently very busy with personal work. But I'll definitely take care of that this week. I'm absolutely excited about the sunrise and sunset programs. 👀 And if you've read this far, I'm glad you're interested in this (learning) grow! 🏽

GrowingTheZaza Week 3 is over with some crazy developments that I've never experienced with soil. Unfortunately, a very late update from my plants (sorry about that). First of all, the heat issues have resolved themselves since the outside temperature in my area has now only been between 10 to 13 degrees at most. The roots that worried me now look super strong and are drinking water like champions! I was on vacation for 4 days over the weekend and before that, I completely refilled the water, adjusted the pH and EC values, and let the plant do its thing, and the result is absolutely awesome. 😍 It's crazy how much the plant has jumped, with so many shoots developing without any intervention. The plants drank almost 15 liters of water while I was away, it was so interesting to see that. One problem is that the plant is growing very bushy because it's doing so well, which is of course a good sign, but I should probably remove a few fan leaves that are blocking too much light. 🏽 I actually wanted to start with LST or SCROG, but I think I'll just let the plant grow since I want to see what happens. You just don't get these extreme growth spurts with soil. I find the DWC system much better for me; you only need to check on the plant twice a week, and the rest it does by itself. I just wish I had started earlier. 😍 Well, there's still a consideration on the table to switch to a 30-liter bucket during flowering to give the plant even more room to grow. But we'll see over time what else happens. 🙏🏽 See you next week! 🤫

GrowingTheZaza Woche 4 ist vorbei und ich habe sehr viele Änderungen unternommen.🙏🏼 Den Pflanzen geht es sehr gut, fast zu gut hahah.😂 Meine 15 Liter Eimer sind sehr schnell zu klein geworden, da die Pflanzen innerhalb von 2 Tagen die Nährstoffe und das Wasser komplett Trinken was ein bisschen zu schnell ist, da der Ph und Ec wert dadurch rapide sinken deswegen hab ich oft den PH wert auf 6,8 oder so gelassen da nach einem tag schon fast unter 5 war. Deshalb habe ich vor zwei Tagen die Blüte eingeleitete was eigentlich gar nicht der Plan war und bin auf 30 Liter Eimer umgestiegen um mehr Kontrolle über die Pflanzen zu haben, da sie sonst einfach zu Groß in meinem Zelt werden. Auf 30 Liter umsteigen war gar nicht so einfach da der Wurzelbart sich schnell an den 15 Liter Topf angepasst hat und ich einen Deckel umbauen musste für die 30 Liter Größen. Ein Fehler den ich diesen Grow gemacht habe, war auf LST zu verzichten. Das wird nächstes mal sofort gemacht da einfach die Pflanze zu unkontrolliert buschig wächst, ich hoffe ich bekomme ein scrog netz noch über die Pflanzen gespannt, da es so viele Stämme hat.? Auf jedenfall bleibt die Pflanze noch eine Woche auf Canna Aqua Vega und wird dann auf Aqua Bloom umgestellt damit die Pflanze sich nach und nach an die Nährstoff Änderung gewöhnt. Mit der Zeit werden die Wasser wechsel immer anstrengender da die Pflanzen einfach sehr schwer werden, da muss ich mir noch eine alternative ausdenken. Die Idee ist einfach nochmal 2 Eimer vorzubereiten um dort die Nährstoff Mischung zu machen damit man ohne viel zeit die Eimer einfach Wechseln kann. Aber mal schauen ob das so Funktioniert wie ich mir das vorstelle. Da ich übernächste Woche nochmal verreisen muss, muss alles stimmen da ich einfach 3 Tage nicht nach diesen Pflanzen schauen kann, das ist gerade meine Größte Angst.?
