Grimgrows OK folks here we go again with a new genetic, Gary sherbert! If you've been following along last grow was the lemon paya and lemon mandarine which was absolutely beautiful however the veg was longer than I liked to fill the 4x4 so this time we are trialling 3 plants per bed.
To get the bed ready for sowing i chopped the previous girls removed existing mulch added fresh fan leaves to mulch, topdressed with 300g of ecothrive regen and 1 pint of worm castings with white shark mycos added then covered with the mulch and watered in with an aerated water I a pump sprayer. The moisture was kept consistent for 2 weeks then I made my planting pockets of biobizz lightmix which where dug in and mounded up to the hight of the mulch as its a thick old layer now consisting of past cover crops, barley straw, cammabis fan leaves and mulched cannabis stems. Seeds where added and watered then covered with domes.
3 days later and 2 beautiful seedlings germinated, 3rd is alive and has a 4mm root but after a week I've planted another seed as I no longer trust in the vigour of the one I Initially planted. Shouldn't be to much of an issue as we are trellis growing and doing at least one round of topping so everything will get balanced out.
Thanks for joining me again on another soil growing journey π

Grimgrows After one week we are where we need to be, we finally have 3 plants! I sowed another seed on Saturday morning so 3 days later (yesterday) I could finally feel on track with this experiment.
Vpd is kept around 0.7 kpa and I've just been misting the mulch layer to keep the microbiology happy. I won't be running cover crops this time as the mulch is too thick and it has prevented me from going low till rather than no till. Basically I prefer the freedom to pull up mulch, scratch in topdress and then replace mulch layer. Unfortunately cover crops stop this and the dense scrog type grows tend not to allow enough light to penetrate for decent cover crop growth.
Here's hoping our little one has her dancing shoes on and plays catch up with her sisters in a timely manner π€£ never mind if not all things will be equalised in the first top and subsequent training.

Grimgrows Not much to report. I'm daily filling humidifier to acheive vpd of 0.8kpa. Apart from daily misting the mulch layer the bed has gotten 2l of water from the pump sprayer and the soil probe sensor is reading 37% moisture at 8 inch depth. Dli is 16 and plants are responding well.
