wolfvb Kicking off the new cycle with Dutch Passion's White Gushers Cake Regular alongside Pink Runtz Cake!
Medium & Setup: Sown directly into moist AC Infinity coco coir inside the seedling cell tray.
Environment & Humidity Dome: Enclosed in the AC Infinity humidity dome with the integrated LED propagation light running on low to keep conditions warm and saturated.
Vents: Fully closed for the first 48β72 hours to lock in near 100% RH while the seeds tap down and pop.
Target Environment: Maintaining root zone temps around 24β26Β°C and high humidity until helmets crack and the first set of true leaves emerge.
Tent infrastructure is dialed in with the full AC Infinity ecosystem (Controller AI+, Ionframe EVO3, and Cloudline T8) ready for transplant as soon as they get their feet under them.

wolfvb πΏ A Brand New Beginning! π±βΊ
Let's get it rolling! What is up, GrowDiaries fam? With the older runs wrapping up, it is time to get a brand new cycle started. Welcome to Week One of this fresh diary!
π The Details / Progress Report:
Hello World: We have officially broken ground! Looking closely at the macro shots, the seedling has successfully pushed through the dark soil/coco mix, and those tiny green cotyledons are just starting to unfurl.
Dialed-In Environment: A proper germination environment is crucial. You can see heavy water droplets and condensation built up on the plastic dome right next to the sprout, showing we are keeping that relative humidity absolutely maxed out while she establishes her delicate taproot.
The Medium: She is sitting comfortably in a rich, fibrous starter mix that is perfectly saturated without looking completely waterlogged.
π§ Next Steps:
Right now, it is all about environmental stability and patience. I will keep the humidity dome over her for a few more days until the first set of true serrated leaves appears and she starts demanding more light. She doesn't need any nutrients at this stage, so it will just be light misting with plain, pH-balanced water to keep the surface from drying out.
π Question for the community: When popping new beans, do you prefer the paper towel method, soaking them in a glass of water, or planting straight into the medium like this? Let me know your go-to germination tek in the comments!

wolfvb πΏ Week 2 Update: Helmet Head Defeated and True Leaves Unfurled! π±βΊ
Let's get it rolling! What is up, GrowDiaries fam? We are officially into Week 2 with this new seedling, and she has successfully pushed through her early struggles to get this run on track!
π The Details / Progress Report:
Casing Conquered: The biggest win this week is that she finally kicked off that stuck seed casing. One of the rounded cotyledon leaves is still slightly folded over from the struggle, but the restriction is completely gone.
True Leaves Emerging: With the helmet head out of the way, she is getting straight to business. The first set of true, serrated leaves have fully opened up and are showing a beautiful, healthy bright green color.
Stem Stability: The initial stretching we saw in week one seems to have halted. She is standing perfectly upright and looking much more stable in the moist starter mix.
π§ Next Steps:
Now that she has true leaves to catch the light, I will be carefully dialing in the LED height and intensity to keep her subsequent nodes tight. The goal this week is to establish a strong root zone, so I will be letting the medium dry back just a bit more between light waterings to force those roots to search out. As soon as she outgrows this plug, it will be time for her first transplant into a fabric pot!
π Question for the community: During week two, do you prefer to keep your seedlings under a humidity dome to keep VPD low, or do you harden them off immediately to standard tent conditions? Drop your early-veg environmental tips below!
She is free and growing fast! Let's keep it going! π±π¨

wolfvb πΏ Week 3 Update: A Tragic Turn for the Dutch Passion Seedling! π₯βΊ
What is up, GrowDiaries fam? We are moving into Week 3 for the new Dutch Passion run, but unfortunately, it looks like we have hit a major roadblock with one of the seedlings.
But we have the backup seedlings as and she is weird
The Details / Progress Report:
Total Collapse: Taking a look at the macro shots, the seedling has completely collapsed. She is severely wilted, bending over heavily, and the structure has lost all its turgidity.
Necrosis and Fungal Growth: The damage is severe. The tips of the tiny cotyledons and the edges of the first true leaves have turned brown, crispy, and necrotic. Even more concerning, zooming in, there appears to be a grey, fuzzy fungal growth forming directly on the dying tissue near the center of the plant.
Damping Off: This looks like a classic case of "damping off," a fatal fungal infection that strikes vulnerable seedlings, often caused by the growing medium staying too wet and cold for too long.
Next Steps:
Unfortunately, when a seedling reaches this stage of collapse and fungal growth, it is almost impossible to save. I will have to pull this one from the tray to ensure the pathogen doesn't spread to any other healthy seeds I have going. Moving forward, I need to make sure I am letting the starter plugs dry back significantly more between waterings and keeping the root zone warmer to prevent this from happening again.
Question for the community: Have you ever successfully rescued a seedling that has started damping off and bending over, or do you always cull them immediately to protect the rest of the crop? Let me know your seedling rescue protocols below!
A tough loss, but we learn and keep growing! π±π¨
