birdmountain The Peaches & Cream seeds were placed in the Sproutly germination assistant from Kannabia according to instructions.
I hope all the seeds will germinate quickly.
In the first weeks until sex identification, they will be kept in pots while the Living Soil substrate matures.
I've never done this before; the soil goes into a 90 x 90 x 50 cm container that fits perfectly in the grow box.
About the Peaches & Cream strain from Antonio
Genetics: Peach Candy F2 x Ice Cream Cake
Possible THC content: usually between 20-25%, max. just under 30%
Flowering time 7-8 weeks
About Living Soil:
I'm working with Living Soil for the first time, and I'm realizing that the amount of soil (about 320 l.) needs to stay in the grow box and, since it's alive, must also be maintained and kept moist after the harvest.
All ingredients are already present; they consist of used potting soil, rice husks, perlite, worm compost with worms, horn meal, bat guano, remnants of Terra Preta, algae lime, diatomaceous earth, flax straw for mulching, possibly wood chips as well.
Whether a cover crop will be added remains to be seen.
What worries me a bit is the humidity that needs to be managed during the flowering period, as I haven't been venting the air outside so far. Hopefully, it won't become a problem.
Thank you very much for your interest!

birdmountain The Peaches and Cream seedlings have all five survived the germination phase, the second pair of leaves is already visible, and they have adapted well to the environment. The living soil bed has already been filled, covered with mulch, and is now maturing without heating and light at 28° C. When filling, the soil only had a temperature of 11° C. The fill volume is now only 280 liters. Predatory mites against fungus gnat larvae will be added to the bed, along with grain spawn of the giant puffball, so that the mulch can break down quickly, feeding the earthworms. It is also supposed to kill nematodes. I will skip cover crop in the first round to get to know the bed better. Thank you for your visit.

In Sproutly from Kannabia 😅😜
That's quite an extensive recipe.. 320 liters 😲 I don't even have that much for indoor + outdoor in total 😅
Without wanting to improve anything.. I just throw in different types of manure 😏 Don't you want to add some long-term pellets to the guano? With the horn meal, you're more mid-term quick but pure N. Or do you throw on teas or something?
edit: When I think about it.. 320 liters.. if the soil is even remotely as "heavy" as mine.. and so water-retentive. This is no joke.. have you thought about the statics if the box isn't in the basement? I would guarantee that I hit 500kg with 320 liters, and 500kg/m2 I believe is not feasible in every statics 😅
@TruTraTri, yeah, I need to think about how to mix it all up. Maybe in the mortar mixer, but that probably wouldn't be good for the earthworms. The plants won't go into this soil until about the fifth week; by then, the nitrogen should be available for the plants. Then I'll switch to flowering right away and harvest 8-9 weeks later. Maybe I'll also reduce the soil a bit. The ground can handle it; I laid it myself. There's no basement underneath. Now that the solar panels are on the roof, I need to use the electricity too. I can also start the veggies in there. 😅
@birdmountain, that's definitely a much better plan than the one I usually follow. At some point, repotting, at some point switching, and hoping there's enough in the soil 😹 Well, with such a late start, you really don't need anything with long-term effects in reserve 👍
I'm also curious about the humidity. Since you have so much fine-grained and immediately available stuff, that might not be a problem. I would even assume that if you make it too wet, you'll quickly run into over-fertilization (depending on how many plants you have) and you can kind of regulate the nutrients + soil activity a bit through the amount of water 😇😆 (oh dear... I think I've smoked too much again today 😹)
For mixing... if you want it perfect, I would recommend geometric mixing with a scoop divided into 2 containers and then mixing it roughly again. If you're faster and coarser, I take a tarp, sprinkle everything on top, rake it all in once, and then basically throw from the corners of the tarp into the middle and spread it out again and mix it through again 😜
Man... luckily my partner isn't listening to me, otherwise she'd have to endure my rambling 😅 Sorry.. I love soil! 😘 and you always do such great things.
